HDDHackr 1.25 Tutorial - unofficial HDD in your Xbox HDD

i have a wd scorpio 120gb bevs model, i've used hddhackr on it and made it a fujitsu mwh. The Xbox slim read's it, no prob there, but i can't use more than 6 gb on it, after that it says "it can't read disc"

@riyyi2 i've tried that, i've flashed it with the 250gb hddss.bin, but still doesn't work, also when i connect it to the PC i can see 111gb unused space, somehow i think the partion that was made for the xbox to use i only 6 gb and the rest is left out.Is there a way to repartition the hdd? and i also lost the undo.bin so i can't return it to the WD firmware.

@gandalfwiz20007 I see what happened here, you formatted your drive with your Xbox, then there is a max yes, the .bin file isn't applied for some reason, your pc shouldn't be able to see anything on the driwe if you flased it correctly, also use the 120gb.bin file.

@riyyi2 yes, and the PC sees it as Fujitsu mhw... and it can use the space on it, and it also has the partitions 0, 2 and 3 when i check it with Xplorer 360. An 1 more thing, at the boot up screen the PC tell me that S.M.A.R.T. detects that the hdd is going to die soon so it sugests a backup and replacement.

@gembalaartoni If you put an case around it and connect it via USB to your Xbox, you could use 16GB of it.

I use a delock controller with 4 Sata ports, or should i use the Sata Ports of my Motherboard?

@Beown You should use the first SATA port on your motherboard, usually your internal hard drive is connected to that.

I have done everything correct, exactly how you said, and when I plug in my USB to my computer with the new Harddrive in it, it just says "No Operating System..." I don't know what to do, please help as soon as possible!

@JostHD I don't understand what you mean, if you want to flash the new firmware on it you need to connect it via SATA not USB.

@JostHD - you need to make sure you boot from usb, and not hdd. Sounds like your bios are trying to boot from the harddrive you are trying to use.

@promobile123987 If there will be a bigger one for the Slim and Slim doesn't has some sort of ID so Microsoft can tell its a Slim or Phat, then you can use that firmware that will be created with the update then :)

@ramivei You would need to have the DVD anyway to run the game when its installed on your Hard Drive.

@XxFordGiraffeXx After you formatted it put it on your Xbox and let it format it for you. Is the drive bigger than 250GB? If so the nit has the wrong firmware, a unmodified Xbox can only detect up to 250GB nothing higher.

@XxFordGiraffeXx Depends, does it have regular firmware? does it have a case or build in? If its with a case you could rewrite the firmware with this tutorial and then use it in your regular Xbox.

@valdeze They reccomend FAT you could always try FAT32, because your Xbox can format the drive for you afterwards.

Hi maybe you know how to fix this. I have an xbox 360 MW2 limited edition and it came with the 250 GB HDD, everything was fine but in some point my xbox started to run slowly, I read something about the "clear the cache" so i do it but then my HDD showed like "unformatted" i try to format it but it returns the same, I have the usb transfer kit so I connect it to my pc and format it from there, I use a software to format it in fat32, everthing ok but again in the xbox it returns "unformatted".

@kthalas A HDD is only going to work after it is formatted via your Xbox so try that again if that doesnt work call Microsoft or return it to the store.

@IndividuallyWrapped It is possible but then you need to JTag your Xbox, You are only going to be able to use 250GB of the 1TB unstill Microsoft releases a 512GB hard drive for the Xbox, you're not going to be able to use any more than 250GB without JTag, sorry.

@soshib0y I don't think a 3.5 will fit inside the case then you need to leave it open, and if you use a 500gb drive the xbox will only use 250gb of it. This will work on a normal xbox 360 and on the new xbox 360 slim.
