"Cory", dude get a life! I wish you could talk to the hundred and thousands of prisoners served by Colson, and truly listen to the hope that they have received in and out of prison thru Colson's life and service. Let me ask you--what have YOU done to give hope to these prisoners??? it's easy to accuse Colson a liar--i can accuse you a liar! But what does that prove? Nothing. Colson's life after prison demonstrates the depth and solidity of his life. Your comments shows how superficial you are!
Greasy Chuck Colson was caught breaking the law with a lot of other unscrupulous people, over 30 years ago. He then changed his lies and began telling those new lies behind bars, to new people. "Studies" do not show that 93% of inmates are miraculously healed. It shows that others in his position will switch crime for another, unhealthy addiction. Maybe like you. Gullible criminals, the lot.
Colson was witnessed to BEFORE the Watergate trials started and before he was accused of anything. His friend, Tom Phillips, shared the Gospel with him at a time when he was feeling disillusioned with the meaning of life, completely unrelated to any Watergate wrongdoing...
Have you read Colson's books, Cory? His first one, 'Born-Again,' which goes into detail about his conversion, what led up to it, etc.?
It validates all I've said.
My take is that you HAVEN'T read it and that you're simply content to spread untruths (or lies, whichever term you prefer) - which is interesting coming from someone who indicated that 'truth is truth'...
Mr. Colson started a prison ministry over 30 years ago that has not only brought the gospel of Christ to hundreds of thousands of prisoners all around the world, it has affected the lives of millions OUTSIDE the prison walls. Studies have shown that 93%(!) of those inmates that have gone through his programs never return to prison; contrast it with secular programs that have a success rate of under 1/3.
Chuck Colson has no right speaking about morality or anything else to anyone. Our brains are supposed to tell us to weed these people out of our lives, and not to listen to them.
He gets caught being a criminal (and prick) and then suddenly finds jesus in jail. Not exactly an original story. Whatever gets you out of a jam Chuck. But don't expect people with brains to believe anything you say, especially about eternal goodness and deities we have no proof for. Lies? Sure. But no jail! yay
Chuck Colson accepted Jesus Christ at least a year before he went to jail for seven months - and he thanks God for his prison experience which led him to formulate a prison ministry that has changed the lives of thousands of people.
Before you cast judgement on Colson, I would read ANY of his books. They'll minister to you and, I believe, change your heart.
You need to read more than his pandering books to know who Chuck Colson is. Even listening to the drivel he sputs now, would help.
You appear at least as deluded as he is, so your opinion is largely irrelevant as well. As are your offerings of blessings from an imaginary friend. Keep them. Since you've abandoned reason and logic, you'll need all the help you can get, johnlorican.
You know little about this small, insignificant man, and that is why he is dangerous.
So, basically what he is saying is that no secularist could have done any of those good things, or by extension, have any real moral compass. Rubbish!
I thank God for this man who will stand up for the truth even when people may not like what he has to say!

I wish we had more liars like him -- in jail.

Oh, and one more thing: Colson was facing arrest and his world was falling apart when he was successfully proselytized to.
Funny how he needed to get caught to take this particular (and popular) way out. So many people do, don't they, when in a pinch?
Coryscott5 3 years ago
Cory, not surprisingly - you're wrong.
Colson was witnessed to BEFORE the Watergate trials started and before he was accused of anything. His friend, Tom Phillips, shared the Gospel with him at a time when he was feeling disillusioned with the meaning of life, completely unrelated to any Watergate wrongdoing...

Oh, yes -- completely unrelated. If you believe that I have some swampland to sell you.
Not surprisingly, you are gullible, so long as the lies are from a fellow "believer". Otherwise, even evidence wouldn't be enough.

Have I? Some of them.
Important to note something here though -- he is a liar, has lied about HUGE things, and took the easy way out when caught.
I try not to look to liars when they find the invisible in my search for truth.
Keep that bar low, john. That way you can always haul your delusions over it.

Whatever...
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

I wish we had more 'liars' like him.

"Cory" is another YouTube teen, posing as an adult & making up a lot of crap about people who knows nothing about.

Cory, I'm glad you don't live in MY neighborhood (sheesh!). It's been a LONG time since I've read something from as cynical an individual as you...
johnlorican 3 years ago
Truth is truth. At least I can face it. Cynical? No. Skeptical? Yes. There is a difference, you know.
I am also glad I do not live in your neighborhood and have to deal with you knocking on my door to attempt to brainwash me.
