@nockuout1 - Having oil reserves does not mean the oil is good quality or accessible. A lot of various oil reserves in the ground are piss-poor quality petroleum (which is why people haven't been drilling them already) and much of it is so deep underground that trying to get to it would be economically unfeasible. Some of it is so deep it would take 2 oil barrels of energy to drill out every 1 barrel of oil. That's not economically or energetically efficient.

This is false. 2000-2009 was the warmest decade on record and 2009 was second warmest year on record (this is all according to NASA). Modern global temp records began in 1880.

They're models, socialistcontainment, similar to regressions in statistical analysis. They are meant to predict a trend over a period of time under a particular amount of uncertainty. They model follows the trend not the actual data. So if some years are cooler, that would not be in the model.
Compared to today's global warming it's a joke. At maximum the global temperature rose 0.75 degrees before entering what many consider a mini-ice age. Unfortunately, there's not much data supporting this occurring at the same time in both Northern and Southern hemispheres. It's quite uncertain if it even happened on a global scale.
By comparison, if the trends we are seeing today continue unabated, we'll have risen 4 degrees by 2150.

Similarly, climate scientists expect a 4 degree increase in temperature 100-150 years from now.

A barrel floating in the ocean will grow a seaweed farm. It would be easy to create rainforest sized algae farms mid ocean. The seaweed farms would photosynthesis, as well as the lifeforms themselves would be made of carbon.
Cheap. Proactive. Harmless.
Also mid ocean seaweed (algae) farms could be towed to counties in need for emergency food fuel.
No downside.
Build seaweed farms from shore and tow them out to sea and anchor them. Polluting companies could sponsor the low costs.

Water evaporates at the same temperature no matter what -- so it has nothing to do with whether it rains or snows.

The solar wind and the Sun are NOT causing global warming right now as solar activity is at a minimum. Also, the cycle you're referring to, the Milankovitch Cycle, takes place over tens of thousands of years. Not in 200 years. Global CO2 has risen over 100 ppm and global temp almost 1 degree in less than 300 years. List the periods in the past this occurred.

A lot of various oil reserves in the ground are piss-poor quality petroleum (which is why people haven't been drilling them already) and much of it is so deep underground that trying to get to it would be economically unfeasible. Some of it is so deep it would take 2 oil barrels of energy to drill out every 1 barrel of oil. That's not economically or energetically efficient.

I know for a fact that the term 'Global Climate Change' became mainstream after temperatures began cooling after the millennium. Most meteorologists do not agree with global warming theory either.

That temperatures began cooling is a right wing meme. 2005 is the warmest year on record. Because 2006, 2007, and 2008 were cooler than 2005, conservatives and people who have an interest in ignoring global warming said that the world was actually cooling.
This is false. 2000-2009 was the warmest decade on record and 2009 was second warmest year on record (this is all according to NASA). Modern global temp records began in 1880.

@shalcall I am not talking about the whole decade, just that after the turn of the century the predictions that began in the late 80's hit a snag when temperatures cooled for the first time. There is no argument that temperatures are warmer, at least in recent history.

They're models, socialistcontainment, similar to regressions in statistical analysis. They are meant to predict a trend over a period of time under a particular amount of uncertainty. They model follows the trend not the actual data. So if some years are cooler, that would not be in the model.

Compared to today's global warming it's a joke. At maximum the global temperature rose 0.75 degrees before entering what many consider a mini-ice age. Unfortunately, there's not much data supporting this occurring at the same time in both Northern and Southern hemispheres. It's quite uncertain if it even happened on a global scale.
By comparison, if the trends we are seeing today continue unabated, we'll have risen 4 degrees by 2150.
Again, the issue is whether man is to blame.

CO2 is one out of many greenhouse gasses. And just like anything else, too much of something is bad. I like to eat, eating keeps me alive. However, if I eat too much, I get fat and have a heart attack. Yes it might take a while and it might not happen until I'm well into my 40's or 50's. Similarly, climate scientists expect a 4 degree increase in temperature 100-150 years from now.
However, unlike eating, this isn't something you can easily stop overdoing.

Regardless, in the same way that particular occurrences of evolution (proven true or proven false) do not negate the general theory of evolution, a change in a smaller part of the theory of Global Climate Change does NOT negate the general theory. That should be burned into peoples brains if you ask me
But I don't have a degree in this field, so I don't bother talking as though I do, most of the people talking about the field.

If there is a heat wave in Australia next week, that does not indicate global warming. Just like this snow storm doesn't indicate that global warming is false. There is a difference between WEATHER and CLIMATE.

In the past decade and living in the DC area we have had extremely dry and cold winters, rainy winters, and recently snowy winters. My point is you cannot judge this snowy season "for" or "against" global warming/climate change. I understand both sides of he table. I think we have a lot to learn about the climate despite what evidence we have gathered so far.
