despite the fact that there are some technique problem's with maria's abbreviated motion, I think the main reason why she double faulted so much was because she was going for too much on her second serve. She should have used more of a kick serve.
The fact that Sharapova double faulted more times than Federer Double faults in a whole tournament makes it astounding that this match even made it to 3 sets.
As much as I'd like to root for Oudin in their next match. I think Sharapova deserves justice from her mediocre performance.
It wasn't just her double faulting. Even when she got a good serve in, Oudin still made a play on the ball and Maria early in the rally would fall apart.
It's clearly mental Maria. How else would you explain all those early CLOSE losses at slams recently?
