@barneycockburn no it's not at all. A great guitar and a great amp is all you need. The simplicity and quality of the set up does it. It's when you start mixing all kinds of stuff that lose that pure tone. There's nothing strange about simplicity and quality.

When I first saw Redd, I didn't know he was good. The crowd and I went ape shit for him. He looks like a regular guy, and that's just sooo refreshing. He plays with just the right amount of speed, taste & humor. And I agree, his deep voice is just terrific. I feel very fortunate to live in Austin and able to see him up close.

I saw Redd and his band yesterday.Now I knew Id be in for some superlative playing but the man sings beautifully and his band mates all sing well.The one thing I dont understand is why they dont sing background vocals, just the same awesome band.Reds at ginnys at 4 today you fuckin rights Ill be there to watch the Canadian rip on his tele.Red told me he's from Surry B.C.
