Here's my theory: Its a second heart, to help pump blood up that long neck to the brain. Probably necessary, given how exhausting it must be to fly. Otherwise, it would black out. I think too much about these things.

Morons, it's Beowulf, it's the twisted story of Beowulf that makes this movie awesome, not animation or "ultrarealistic water" since when is realism an attribute you want in animated films. It's absolutely not realistic, I'm very disappointed ! The dragon is slow, the same scene could have been twice as short and three times more interesting... The dragon's heart is ridiculously tiny... the dude's arm is longer than arm+sword... well, I'm disappointed !

But, of course, the quality of the animation is amazing !

That's from Beowulf from 2007. Saw it in the cinema and it was pretty awesome stuff for its time. Quite a good telling of the classic story. The animation is holding up pretty well as a matter of fact.

why hello uncanny valley so nice to see you. I don't know maybe if I saw this on a better screen than a youtube vid it'd be less... tacky looking? They did a brilliant job at cging it to the point of looking cheap. Stylization would have done them a better favor than realism either way. Some of the movements were just way too speedy and all in all I can see a lack of polish overall. I hope the guy lives in the end because after that? He kinda deserves it.
