I recently purchased this knife and notice that there was a very slight rust forming on the blade. Do you have any suggestions on how to resolve the slight rust thats forming?that's
@gibsonbat9 - If it is only slight rust, you can get some slightly abrasive polishing compound like Metal Glo or Flitz Polish, and buff it off with a little extra force.
@WeAllJuggleKnives I know couldn't really think of the word. IMO opinion patinas belong on friction folders like case knives, not on one handed opening modern knives. And you know I'm not gonna baby it and keep the rust off lol
Great video! Thanks so much. I have a Caly3.5 Sprint coming. It's my first sprint run knife. I'm not crazy about not being able to disassemble (like others have commented) so I have a ParaMilitary2 coming as well. :)
Damn you, Israel! As if giving me a close look at it weren't enough, you had to go and call it an "investment". How am I supposed to resist logic like that?! Now I've gone and ordered one, and it's all your fault! ;)
Just received mine today. I paid $159.00. They are getting harder to find, so if you want one better get moving. I found mine on eBay. Great review buddy. Keep them coming. Really nice knife and collector. It's going to be a safe queen that's for sure. Take it out on the holidays! :)) Beautiful knife, really, one of Spyderco's finest, that's for sure.
Yo Israel! I just ordered mine Friday. I also have the standard 3.5 and it's a great EDC blade. I'm getting the gray version just as an investment collectible.
Art in the form of a knife. I feel like a cigarette and a long nap after watching this superb knife again, he he. Oh yes, elegance and class is the Spyderco Caly 3.5 Sprint Run! Great vid my brother from another mother. Have a good one=)
cool! my god! how many knifes do you own? Besided your kitchen cutlery! I have 39 in my collection:) I promised myself to get atleast a new knife every month! lol.
@WeAllJuggleKnives i think they own me:) Because i cant go to sleep before i have counted all of them and polished them:) lol. im sick! this is sickness! lol.
i got a spyderco resilience. i love it but the deployment is soooo smooth -buttery smooth. it's kinda scary folding the blade cuz it's so smooth if i'm not careful (or use two hands) it might snap onto my thumb!
I have some Japanese woodworking chisels. I believe the white steel holds a sharper edge but is more brittle; chips easier. The blue steel is LESS chip resistant and a little softer. Hope that helps. Nice spydie. Anything other than BLACK G10 is always a welcome addition to my collection. Wish more brands would do what Spyderco is doing with colored handle scales. I have the PINK Manix2 and the ORANGE Urban slipit with wharncliffe blade. Love them both. Thanks again.
For us Europeans it's really painful to watch these videos, we have a hard time finding these knives for a reasonable price. But most of them cost twice what you pay at the states --

Passing on this one, don't like the look of patinas on "tactical" knives and theres no way I'm letting this thing sit

@CheeseyChung - I don't think they meant it as a tac knife really

Looks like VG-10? Only until you cut some fruits & veggies or any meat in an acidic marinade. Will develop a wicked patina.

Just got one too; the Spyderco Sprint Runs made in Japan all have the same high-quality feel. This Caly feels really similar to the Lum Tanto.

Do you prefer this or the Sage?
