what does the commentator says at 1:01 while kimi has just turned ascari? it is something like "raikkonen is on red page" or "... on rampage" but i didn't get it.
@rsenna raikkonen is on the rampage.... like in the bullfight the bull only sees the red cloth and nothing will stop him to get it... kimi only sees victory and only bad luck can stop him (as in 2005).
clutch slipping on 1:06 because the sixth gear is too long -> revs drops down too much so he clutch slips because torque is better in high revs on formula 1 engine
I think Kimi might have actually pulled the clutch a little bit on the straight to try and get the revs just a fraction higher for higher speed on the straight in 6th gear rather than shift into 7th.
Mclaren definitely did not support kimi as much as they are doing for hamilton or button. If kimi had a car which was consistent, he would ave won atleast 2 championships 2003 and 2005.
In many races, he could not finish because of some problem with the car. Unarguable one of the best drivers in F1. it was his pure talent which enabled him to get the maximum out of his car. he used to take pole positions but due to problems in the car, not finish on podium. it was so frustrating
@jc790 lol yeah.. he beated Montoya with a car twice filled with fuel.. montoya was on a 2 stop strategy, Kimi on a 1.. and people still debates wheter Kimi was better than Montoya!, LMAO!
@dario272 pff montoya already knew the penalty of Raikonen so he did not care qualify second, just in the front row would come out, plus it is obvious that the team will indicate this situation to promote kimi output position that just was not going to disadvantage for montoya. As this would be the 3 pole for Montoya at Monza
motogp is faster the fastest a gp bike has gone is 222mph and it has way faster acceleration f1 car 0-62mph in 3 seconds motogp bike 0-62mph in 1.9 seconds gp bike tramps it
@lukezapper F1 cars create massive drag at high speed, yet in 2004 qualifying the cars reached close to 230mph.
As for acceleration, I doubt those figures, especially given that F1 cars with the more recent 2.4L V8's out drag MotoGP; these beast a 3L V10.
Besides, cornering speed and breaking distance (or lack of) is an F1 cars greatest asset; no other form of motorpsort can take Spa's Eau Rouge corner flat out at such high speeds (Radicals can, but they are much slower when they reach it).
@MetaKnightsKirby noooo a gp bike would beat it ive seen it before gp bike got the better start and then they both stayed were they were coz they both have the same top speed 360kph-f1 car motogp bike-360kph the bike will win mate trust me ive seen them do it before trust me
@MetaKnightsKirby gp bike and f1 car r the same in speed and plus i dont know why were going on about SPEED!! it not about speed its about the racing and am sorry but f1 is ssooo boring its like watching paint dry motogp is wayy better look at the races they have had 2009 cataluya gp rossi lorenzo last corner F1 cars cant do that! and the reson why gp is better because there more over taking and the reson why theres more over taking is coz the bikes r slim and not big soooo motogp wins in racing
@lukezapper In STRAIGHT LINE SPEED, just about. In the corners, there is NO comparison.
You prefer overtaking QUANTITY, I prefer racing QUALITY. I find the quality of the racing in F1 to be better, and faster. I couldnt care less if MotoGP has 4000 overtakes per corner and F1 has 1, if that 1 overtake is of a better quality, I enjoy it more. Hence why I strongly hate the artificial gimmicks that are DRS and the Pirreli tires that the FIA insists on keeping.
@MetaKnightsKirby listen in dont want to fight but thats your opininion and same to me ok am just saying that i think gp is better and yes am sure the f1 cars r a littel bit faster but its your opininion mate ok :)
@lukezapper Yeah, it is all opinion, I know. Here are some figure for you. MotoGP, the japanese Super GT (a high performance GT series based on real production cars) and Formula 1 all race at the Sepng circuit in Malaysia.
I dont know about the records in MotoGP and Super GT at Sepand, but rhe F1 record was set in 2004 with a 1:33.074. Cars are MUCH quicker than bikes in racing.
@MetaKnightsKirby yes f1 may be faster but speed is nothing without style and thats wat motogps got its not all about speed speeed speed its about the action and i think theres way more action in th gp i mean look at the race in cataluya 2009 lorenzo vs rossi best race ever at that track and one of the best races ever i dont hate f1 its just i would like to see more over taking and battling the thing is bikes can dive under the inside were the cars are soo wide they cant over take.
@lukezapper Fair enough. I simply prefer the quality of action that stupidly fast vehicles can give (including MotoGp by the way) over quantity of it. I like seeing a driver have to drive like his life depended on it in an attempt to pass. Unfortunatly, I am in a minority group who share a simmilar view.

@Patmcway yeah I was gutted with the engine failures, I wanted him to win the championship and he deserved to but unfortunately the cry baby Alonso did. I bet Alonso knows that but of course, but he will never admit it
@Sheraad190 Kicked a clutch little bit to get revs up cause 7th gear is long, and it car have less momentum al lower revs... Anything to squeze al the speed from that car, what a driver ... Brilliant
@Sheraad190 Not sure, he is only in 6th gear going down towards paribolica (the car has 7) I know the tv displays are wrong sometimes but I counted and it was only 6th. Perhaps a gearbox glitch or as others say maybe he was doing sometihing with the clutch as 7th gear is very stiff (if you listen to the onboard at the end of the pit straight he is no where near the limiter in 7th), either bad set up or more likely it was set for the race where he would have to do lots of slipstreaming
@Sheraad190 I think it's problem with the camera. The sound is faster than the picture, so in 1:08 it's a black line in the camera - a result of the disturbance in 1:06. If there's a problem with the engine he couldn't have taken the pole I think.
