  • Where did the backing track come from?

  • @StompingRabbits It's not a backing track, I played all the parts. Drums and one-finger piano chords are from an old Technics organ.

  • You have done a good cover. your voices is good and yoy play guitar well.

  • @mgiuliab Thanks, I always liked this song.

  • I was really impressed with the guitar playing, vocals were good too! Great job!

  • @PhillyGirl64 Glad you like it, it's a good song.

  • It sounds GREAT Jim, I think u need a pair of vise grips for the harmonies, but it REALLY Sounds like Me. lol

  • @hthebomber What's up, Tom? Yeah, I had the vise grips out LOL.

  • Thanks Jim!

  • wish i had 1/10th of your talent old feller

  • As far as I know Harrison 'helped' Ringo on this one, but musically it has Harrison written all over it. Thanks for checking it out.

  • Thanks Gina, I'll check out your brother as soon as I can.

  • I rarely leave comments, but I had to take the time to say that was a great cover. Well done!

  • I appreciate comments, especially from people who don't comment a lot. Thanks, glad you liked it.

  • I love your voice.. Properly produced, this would be a great cover.... That drum machine has *got* to go lol.. and if you're going to use it, I'd get it up in the mix.. That's my unsolicited opinion :) Good job!

  • Thanks Heg - the drums are from an old Technics keyboard, I have trouble programming real drum machines. I'm still learning/experimenting with recording. Thanks for checking it out.

  • I like the tone of your voice, GREAT job, I love this song, thanks for posting ! :) gina

  • Thanks again gina, this song was a lot of fun to do.

  • Awesome performance! I really enjoyed this.

I like it that you play by ear. :-) Me too!

  • Thanks guitargal - looks like neither of us can read music! (But that's OK!)

  • greetings from ireland.man you are a one man band you could put a concert on anywhere.

  • Thanks missmarple - just having some fun with an old 8 track reel to reel machine.

  • I love your version of this song. Great playing and a super cool voice.

  • Thanks - it's not a note for note copy, it's kind of the way I hear it.

  • I can't find any tab for the solo. Are you playing it in D minor pentatonic?

  • I have to tell you that i don't know what pentatonic is lol. I play everything by ear and don't know a lot of musical terms, sorry I can't help more.

  • This video always makes me smile...lol

  • That will be our little secret - won't it! LOL

    5*****

    Thanks for share jugnutgut2 !

  • Great playing and singing Jim! Great sound once again.

  • I had to come here and give you my usual 5*****:) Great work, my friend!!!

  • Thanks Ruben, play on!

  • Great job!!! I always enjoy your videos and songs....especially the old CCR/John Fogerty tunes. Keep them coming!!!...Mike

  • Thanks for coming by, Mikey, I appreciate it.

  • Had to click the awesome button for this one Jim. Great lead. Great sound - Amped into a microphone? Stomp box? Direct in?

  • Thanks Mr. Spector. The lead is through a modeling amp with an Akai shredder box. Electric 12 through a real amp, miked. Acoustic 6, miked. There's piano in there but it's buried, I'm still working on all this stuff lol.

  • You've done it yet again Jim, great cover. I play this song also but haven't a clue about the lead riff in the middle yet, I need to download this vid and use slowmo to check out what your doing. I play it on acoustic as for the singing your voice really suits this song, me maybe not lol. Harrison very under rated he was very talented.

  • Thanks chass - the lead isn't real hard, or fast - I think it's the note bending that makes it work. I just play it like I hear it, it may or may not be 'correct'.

  • Great cover Jim. George Harrison is a great songwriter - but then he does come from a great City !

  • Thanks Becky - Liverpool I assume? That's what I always thought.

  • Yeah- I spent my student years there - with fond memories.

  • Another fine production, Jim!

Does the percussion I hear mean you've now got the hang of that drum machine of yours ... or did you just invite Ringo in for the session? :) sounds great!

  • Thanks Steve - no, I haven't used the drum machine yet, still have to read the 30 page manual lol. Drums are from an old Technics keyboard, it has 2 or 3 usable rock beats. If you need polka beats, let me know - it has lots.

  • Wow! That was great! I haven't heard that one for quite awhile!

  • Thanks sherrilynn, that's the kind of song I like to do - glad you remember it.

  • You're a veritable one man band! Terrific stuff!*****

  • Thanks jordan, I wouldn't be able to tape all this stuff like this if it wasn't for the inventor of it all - Les Paul.

  • i dont know what took me so long to notice u, but u really are such a pleasure to listen to, u have such a unique sound!have enjoyed listening to u so much!

  • Thanks Kathy, listen all you want - it's free lol.

  • Always loved this song. Didn't realize it was written by Harrison. Nice cover.

  • Thank you Kikalani - George Harrison was a way under rated guitarist and writer.

  • Great job with this song my friend. :)

  • Thanks - hey, I'm using your guitar lol.

  • Great cover on the Ringo tune! (nice tele too)

    Lar

  • Thanks man, it's an Indonesian Squire, but it does the job.

  • Excellent Jim, telecasters seem to be quite in vogue today. Bravo my friend!!!

  • Thanks Pete - over here Teles have been in vogue since about...the day they came out lol.

  • Excellent !!!!...amazing sound!!Great song choice !*****for sure !

  • Thanks Eddie - a little rough lol compared to your stuff but this one was fun to do.
