I loved this phone got in service where many other phones never could get service. wish I could find another straight talk phone like this lg290c they stopped selling this kind in my area. would still have it if my screen hadn't went out and it was due to wear and tear I dropped it in water, on the ground and it still was good! screen finally went out last week and had to upgrade to the samsung t340g and this phone sucks!

it is an awesome phone but the the battery life sucks for me i can text and web and talk but after a day 1/2 or just a day it will go down to almost no battery but other than that this phone is awesome

This was a very cool phone for me when I was still using tracfone. Since then I've had to get a bit more organized with my phone and my business. Seeing that I live in the north west, the verizon network suits me best. Which is alright. I chose the samsung r355 a while ago and have been very happy with it. Today I heard someone say that net10 have introduced a smart phone to their options?? Does anybody know anything about this?

@Quenteeny Dude you should check out the samsung r810c when you get the chance then. Think it's easy to run a business from your iPhone? It's just as easy to do it with this baby, it's the fully loaded daddy of smartphones and still onlu 45 a month.

@Quenteeny The smartphones were introduced to the StraightTalk line. They are the Nokia e71 and the 6790. They're a bit pricey though at $200 for the phone, and you can only use the $45 plan with them which is unlimited everything.

And I was surprised by how nice the phones they offered were too. This one would be perfect for me, and it's listed as so cheap on their site.

I know getting them both a cell phone is the right thing to do but I have been fearful of all those additional costs. My dad got me a phone like this with a new Net10 plan he got me. When he told me he would be saving a ton of money compared to my old phone, I was afraid this phone would be a major fail. But, it turns out the phone was great, I love how it slips out and makes texting fun while making the phone smaller when I'm only talking.

Straight Talk is so dirt cheap that I thought they would have some really questionable phone selection. I was really pleased to learn that they offer the Samsung R355C with a full QWERTY keyboard for very cheap, and the service is 45$ a month for NO CONTRACT and UNLIMITED talk/text/data.

The LG290C is a really super little phone with all the bells and whistles you would need. I like the big screen. The voice clarity is very good on the phone. The Straight Talk $45 plan for 30 days service and unlimited talk & text & unlimited data is an absolute bargain to use on this phone, no hidden costs, no cancellation fees as with contracts, automatic top up & you don't run out of airtime in the middle of the month. I wouldn't change to another package as long as ST offers this one.

Hey i have a Samsung LG 290c and when i use the slider to "end" my call it wont end the call. Before i didn't have to unlock my phone to answer a call when i slide the phone open but now i do.. so what can be done? Everything is check to where its supposed to do as i want it to..which is...when i receive a call and i slide it open it answers automatically and when i slide it close is to end the call...so what can be done?

Straight talk price for this phone right now is $79. But if you buy it online at walmart you can get a free $30 service card for a month (1000 minutes, 1000 texts, 30mb of data). I've had this phone for...about 7 months now. Decent phone, mobile speed is bleh for data, camera is ok, i guess ive just been spoiled on full 2mp cams on cells. Screen is nice resolution though, which is something I always want no matter how cheap/pricy a phone is.

This is a really nice phone.. I like the camera and cool sliding works well for me. Mine is on Net10 as I got 300 minutes free with the phone and find it very affordable spending as low as $15 for 150 minutes.

Great and informative review. Net10's selection of phones seems to be getting better and still staying so low cost and without the contract. I have the Samsung T401G slider and although its their highest end phone, I think that the LG also might be my next purchase. If the reception is half as good as the Samsung, I will be more than happy to change phones - and its great to know that with Net10 you can do that at will without worry of penalty or contract hassles.

And most importantly I didn't see how the back of the phone looks I went to several retailer websites and I haven't seen any pictures of how the phone looks from the back. I also went to google and no luck either. SO if you could make a full review on this phone that would be great.
