I think he's reffering to the part at 1:42-1:51 where you only use two fingers insted of other fingers. But I mean you can play the song however you like, as long as the end result is sick like it is in this vid. However the way you bend your pinky back on your left hand during some parts can some day result in a hand injury.

I've always thought bassists have the most interesting parts of songs. They often add more intricate harmonies and/or rhythms that aren't appreciated enough. It's sad they're generally recorded so low in the mix, you can't fully appreciate the part until you see it.

and for the record, the part at 0:53-0:59 is wrong. there's some ridiculous tapping part there. you can vaugely hear it in the track, and you can see it in the new video.
