  • This is one of most incredible Tchaikovsky"s, works, you can almost feel on your skin all the suffering of his soul, how the dark side struggles with his magnificent creativity and finally comes to life for our benefit, such a wonderful piece.

  • omg. a song with my name in the title :D

    x

  • reading the text this piece pertains to while listening to this is absolutly soul stretching.

  • masterpice -wspanialy, geniusz !

  • You're comparing a Hungarian with a Russian. There are 2 different but similar outlooks. Personally, I like both.

  • very well-played! amazing tempo fantastic music!

  • May I have your permission to use your annotations in my video?

  • @epwerthen If you give me a link to your video, and include a link to my original annotations in it, then feel free : )

  • Dante - man of the Renaissance though he was - could not escape the poisonous teachings of the catholic church. I know whereof I speak; I was brainwashed by that evil organization for many years and I still struggle to shed myself of its influence. I think that Christ taught many good things, but, the institution that evolved as the Roman Catholic Church is horrible beyond belief.

  • @JJRaff1822 Yes, organized religion in general is a horrible thing.

  • Stunning!! Thank you so much for posting & sharing*^o^* Brilliant ☆s

  • WHY WOULD YOU TAKE ME DOWN HERE.

  • the best version of this is by the Israel philharmonic orchestra nder the baton of leonard bernstein...

  • the best version of this is by the israel philharmonic orchestra conducted by leonard bernstein...

  • Tchaikowsky portrays an almost uncanny sympathy and love for the doomed characters in this wondrous orchestral masterpiece. His superb illustrations of all the many contrasting passions and failings of humanity are brilliantly portrayed in this sublime example of orchestral perfection.

  • Brilliant job of annotation!

  • thx for the annotations

  • the NCO (National Childrens Orchestra) played this. We were all aged 8-13 years old. i will soon be putting u

  • For me, this is Tchaikovsky's most moving, most emotional, most romantic piece of music .... of unequal drama! I can't get enough of it... Listen to the undertones.

  • Our orchestra is going to perform this piece. Holy crap it's difficult, intense, epic, hair-raising, tension-filled Tchaikowsky like I've never heard before.

  • Thank you for uploading this. I assume that this is the '95 recording, featuring Barenboim conducting the Chicago Symphony, is it not?

  • @acinemajunkie You're welcome! This is actually the 2003 digital remastering of Christoph Eschenbach with the Houston Symphony Orchestra, originally released in 1991.

  • This has to be the best recording of this masterpiece I have ever heard!!!!!!!

  • this work is truly intense

  • Yes.

  • Fantastic, thank you for the upload. Dante's Inferno seems like it was the perfect poem for Tchaikovsky to take up.

  • It does indeed - this is one of Tchaikovsky's best works in my opinion. How do you think it compares to Liszt's 'Dante Symphony' (or at least the first movement)? I enjoy Liszt's piece, and it certainly succeeds in capturing an infernal atmosphere, but somehow I feel Tchaikovsky does an altogether better job in portraying the grotesque poetry of hell.
