my daughter does the same thing...she is 15 months old now...and she still does it sometimes....she only says mama when she wants to but if i ask her to say it she says dada!! my husband loves it.

This is very common and normal. Da-Da is easier to say than Ma-Ma. Even single mothers experience this. She is not identifying the person in front of her. She is trying to say Ma-Ma.
