Yep, everyone who hasn't been sucked in to an abusive relationship talks down to women who have. It's disturbing to accept the fact that it can happen to anyone, regardless of education level, intelligence, socioeconomic status, or personality type. Yes, women who grew up in an abusive household have more of a chance, but it can happen to anyone. So please, don't dismiss the experiences of those who have been through this.

this is not always true. my husband hits me often and justifies it using the Quran. We r muslim, He told me if I ever try to leave him he and his 3 brothers would hunt me down and he would stab me in the heart, so if i leave i am dead. if i stay he will eventually kill me i know how it goes there is just nothing i can do about it. it is kind of like a die now or die later thing. loose, loose situation. what do i do than. a protection order is just a piece of paper that doesnt stop an angry man.

@precosious5150 This is a pretty good video, but it is not perfect. I still think you need someone else's help. I'm sure there would be people more powerful than your husband who could help protecting you. I could not leave my ex, because I did not want to. Even if he was abusive some times, he would tell me he's sorry and he'd shower me with love and presents afterward. But I broke up with him and I'm glad. No one should stay with someone abusive in any case.
