  • That open back throws the sound...or were you mic'd??

  • Comment removed

  • Incredible

  • Really Really Cool

  • Real nice guys. Great job.

  • Beautiful: setting, song, harmony, picking. Too bad they tore down the shed. It looks very old, with its brick foundation. Keep working on that fiddle. I'm a lot older than you, and I'm trying to learn it, too. It's a bit rough, but worth it.

  • Wow...this is soooooo awesome...and the set is beyond words!...you guys have such natural talents in many facets of entertaining...wishin you guys all the best of luck in the future in whatever you do!...

  • guitar guy reminds me of dylan

  • @robman8855 Omg I agree Mate!

  • good job boys! kEEP GOING.

  • rtydrydtfrdrgtdrg

  • wow, you guys rock! :)

  • Fall is coming, could you recreate that set? Garage, leaves, clothing, wagon wheel? I bought a Q3HD after hearing your Zoom, thanks.

  • @badbrian1 we would love to, but tragically, that shed was torn down several months after we shot the video. we also go to college 500 miles apart.

  • @200000028 Well if you guys ever meet up again soon, you need to re-record Wagon Wheel. You guys have gotten better in the past few years! I think I speak for everyone of your subscribers when I say this!

  • FREAKIN AWESOME!

  • @stukes0404 the CHORUS is from Bob Dylan.. But that's it

  • Thought I should point out that this is a Bob Dylan song. You guys sound good though keep it up.

  • @stukes0404 its actualy a Old Crow Medicine Show song but bob dylan did a cover

  • @riotsinlondon Dylan recorded a similiar song as a bootleg with the exact same chorus. You can find it somewhere on the internet. The OCMS version uses the same chorus, but has completely original verses. I probably should have researched it before I commented, but at least now the record is straight. I stand corrected.

  • Hey man I'm lovin your videos I do alot of Avett bros like you and I don't have near as many vids but check em out sometime!! Keep em comin brotha!!

  • This was amazing :) better than the original by far. Loved it!

  • That was cool!

  • You guys are great!!! Hope you stick with it.

  • nice, good song

  • 9 people who've watched this video are communists.

  • not bad bad

  • You guys do a real nice job on this. It's nice to hear it without fiddle -- even though I'm partial to it.

  • awesome job

  • WHO IS THE GUY SINGING!

  • @darlinglinnie123 The Lead Singer is Carson McKee. He was 14 when that was recorded. He's now 18. Look for his other tunes on YouTube. He just won a songwriting competition in NC for "Waking Up Drowning". Check it out. Band mate (and banjo/vocalist on this tune) is Josh Turner. Their band is The Other Favorites (with mandolin player Cole Gage.. not sure where the heck Cole was on the day they recorded Wagon Wheel in Carson's backyard back in '08.)

  • Really nice version of this song! Maybe you like mine as well? Greets, Caruso

  • Really nice. Keep it up boys

  • thanks, guys.

  • This is fabulous, inspires me to keep playing the banjo. have watched all your videos, Envy such a gifted family!!! Please keep the world informed if you are playing out and about, or have any recordings

  • ....I got the chills listening to this. you boys are great! keep it up!!!

  • You guys have a wonderful, heartfelt sound. You do the song justice, thanks! My 8 yr old boy loves this song, so it is fun to find youth playing it so well! peace out-

  • He is saying TOKE not talk.

  • @whymelord1000 Yes, he knew that, but he was only 14 when he made that video... back when he was first singing the song, he changed the words to be "G" rated. :)

  • you guys play any fiddle songs?

  • @SaraTobias yes--but we don't have a fiddler. I (the banjo player) am trying to learn the fiddle, but its still--ugly.

  • @200000028 Same here, and ugly is an understatement! I feel like I should wear earplugs half the time

  • @200000028 Wow....le meilleur cover de cette chanson...super bon...Bravo !!!!

  • @200000028 dude i play the fiddle and remember when i was going through that stage, you will get through it, pretty soon you'll be sounding like ol' Ketch Secor himself! Rock on man :)

  • @200000028 Hey do you have the banjo tabs for this? What are you tuned to?

  • @cam49 tabs no, but i do have a pretty detailed lesson video. banjo is in standard g tuning.

  • @200000028 Music to my ears. Still learning on G. Where can i find your lesson vid? I lurked your channel and couldnt find it

  • You kids are awesome. Its good to see that you don't have to be over 40 to enjoy country. What really impressed me is that you two put a simple blue-grass spin on the tune. Not a lot of flash. Its really good boys !!!

  • nice long talk. haha. yes yes

  • Just fantastic!! Had a nice long... Talk, haha

  • Lovely lads, fair play

  • Awesome cover. Nicely done!

  • Very nice cover. Wonderful sepia tones really set the mood. Thanks!

  • Wow ! it's so cool...Bravo !

  • great job young men.

  • Old? sure. Killer? absolutely.

  • i like how this isn't so flashy, it's simplicity makes the talent and the song that much better

  • whoawhoawhoa. i like it

  • this is amazing. i cant even describe how much i love this.

  • Keep it boys that's a damn good version keep on dpin what your doin and you'll go somewhere

  • Great you guys have a great thing goin

  • Best version I have heard

  • Heard thisfor the first time the other day blaring out of a pickup, and rode up the driver side to ask what it was - scared the shit out of the poor girl driving ... Your cover of this OCMS tune is pure magic. Exceptional ... You rock.

  • Best version on YouTube. I actually like it better than the original

  • Absolutely fantastic! Also, it wouldn't be the same without the sepia affect, so great choice there too! But really, easily one of the top covers done on this song... probably the best.

  • very impressed guys

  • U did a great job on this cover!! I absolutley love this song and I just heard it but this is one cover that didn't get screwed up

  • i actually love this song. its amazing and so are you guys. well done.

  • I am sooo glad you fixed the "west to Johnson City", because it really annoys me that the writer didn't get the directions right originally. Also appreciate the "talk" change.

    Excellent jobs young men!

  • I am sooo glad you fixed the "west to Johnson City", because it really annoys me that the writer didn't get the directions right originally. Also appreciate the "talk" change.

    Excellent jobs young men!

  • This is pretty good dudes, nice video.

  • One of the best covers ever while at the same time adding your own little twist to it. Greed job

  • LOVE IT! One of those videos that make's me instantly reach for my guitar and jam along!

  • Awesome job. I like how you sing it differently than old crow does, it sounds great!

  • You boys are amazing! I love the harmony, yall are very talented :)

  • I love how you say the trucker and the narrator had a nice long "talk" :) I didn't catch that the first time, haha. It's a really good cover, though. Charming.

  • Which strings does the banjo player pinch at 1:38 and on which chord?

  • might i just say..... LOVES!!!

  • Made it your own. Very nice!!!

  • This is so good. I got goosebumps! Keep on the good work guys!! :-D

  • Simple doesn't mean bad! This is one of the best in harmony and music that's on the internet. Keep it up and soon we'll be hearing about you doing concerts and recordings for lots of money. Your renditions of songs impress me and I'm hard to impress.

  • you rocked me fellas........cool

  • There was magic in the air on this day. I keep coming back to this great version of wagon wheel. still searching for drake?

  • @badbrian1 "Drake" is Carson McKee. He (and band-mate Josh Turner) recorded this when they were 14. Carson is 18 now. Their band is The Other Favorites. Carson just won a song writing competition for "Waking Up Drowning". Check it out. Back when they were first posting songs, they called themselves Drake and OK, I can't remember now what Josh called himself, but, they gave themselves other names for some crazy reason; hey, they were 14! Made sense at the time, I'm sure.

  • @badbrian1 Drake is Carson McKee, Lead Singer, The Other Favorites. He's 18 now. 14 in this video.

  • Love this! great banjo and guitar! I like the vocal variations. good twist, but you kept it real. put up more covers!

  • ur good!

  • it's missing a bass.....

  • very good, you guys are talented

  • Totally good!

  • Where is Carson McKee (Drake Elliot) now?

  • damn you boys got it goin on!! pure talent

  • I have just spent almost an hour listening to different versions of this song( wagon wheel ). and I found lots of flashy pictures, lots of sets of strings on many different stages. but after all that you got'em all whipped. keep it up, keep it simple, and love every harmony you can find. later gonna go practice

  • @skiman451 I agree. Not bad at all. Would really sound good with a bass and fiddle.

  • @skiman451 Haha, good to know im not the only one who listens to cover after cover of this song. but i agree these boys are brilliant, only thing missing is a bit of fiddle, nothing to intense, but just to add to teh feel.

  • Outstanding !..Lets hear more from ya's

  • Damn Good Boys !!!

  • Sweetness.

  • wow you guys are the SHIT!!

  • I have to agree with everyone that you guys did a solid cover of this song and actually did justice to the original which is saying alot! I also agree with everyone that there needs to be more from you guys, just too much of a good thing to stop at one song but keep up with the same theme. I recommend a Trampled by Turtles cover such as Codeine or Silver and Gold. The only thing I disagree with was changing toke to talk considering that theres nothing wrong with a nice long toke now and then...

  • @ButtonUpJacket Carson McKee (lead singer) was 14 when he made this video... changed "toke" to "talk" back then when he sang the tune in case his grandmother tuned in. :)

  • Very good cover. Great style. You guys are the real deal. Would like to see you guys do some more fine pickin & singing of the old crow stuff..the shed is great backdrop too.

  • Of all the covers of this song on youtube,I think this one is my fav.Nice job fellas.Love the low harmony and the banjo

  • EXCELLANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • waiting on some new video's y'all are great for your age. keep up the good work boys.

  • You guys done an excellent job pickin this song out.. Well done!

  • you guys are awesome but why say talk instead of toke?!?!

  • @calciokicks Carson McKee (lead singer) was 14 when he made this video. Sang a G rated version back then in case Grandma was listening. :)

  • great job.....love the setting too

  • OK Guys -- very good cover.

  • Love your rendition of this song....very sweet and honest...

  • Good job boys! You guys rock this song and I love it.
