this is the strangest song ever... it strikes me as a very lazy song vocally... like someones giving a tired rendition of a poem... but for some reason it comes out very well and is strangely enjoyable to listen to.

That would be Scott from the Psalters. If you haven't ever checked out the Psalters then you most definitely need to! I have posted a number of videos of the Psalters on youtube as well. One way to find them is key words of psalters and covenant and you will find some dark footage from a church show they did here in Cincinnati at my church!
