Slow motion pretty much killed the joy of infiltrator sniping in ME2 for me :( . Point and click, barely taking any damage in the process even on insanity, with nearly stationary enemies. Too much of a good thing and the player feels like an invincible turret, or rather like being handed the kills. Zero challenge.

I don't suppose it would be possible to disable the slowmo in ME3... shotgun/SMG is where it's at.

the M-97 is pure fun... it´s easy to place an entire magazin right into your enemies head before the slow-motion even stops.

still... I can´t believe how awesome the infiltrator-class really is.

made a perfect run with all 6 classes; but infiltrator is the only one which does not need advanced training (but for speed reasons I´m often taking reave) nor any squad mates; but just your sniper rifle and a SMG for ammo reasons...

+30% Melee Damage

+5% Headshot Damage

+11% Weapon Damage

+25% Shield Strength

+5% Spare Heavy Weapon Ammo Capacity.

@keb11tt1 , I think Infiltrators get Headshot bonuses in one of their speciacilations (Agent or Operator) and the the head piece he is wearing ( the visor you buy from the elcor shop in Omega) gives +15% headshot Damage.The sniper rifle here is only available for infiltrator an soldiers because you'd be able to get it on the collector ship if you can already use sniper rfiles (sentinels can only use Pistols and SMGs) so sentinels can only use the viper and mantis sniper rifles and the DLC one :(

@babyspoot When playing the game again and uploading a mass effect 2 character you can't change class. If you play the game again as a different class you do get bonus credits and minerals.

Infiltrator is such a beast, I love the whole snipping in slow motion thing. Plus, having with incinerate, cryo ammo and tactical cloak rocks. You'll never find yourself pressed and at a loss for options. The only bad thing about the Infiltrator, I must say, is that it's just too easy.

It's a blast if the mission itself is challenging. Otherwise, even on insanity... meh. OK at best.

Really looking forward to a soldier playthrough. No cheap tricks, just my fist and my gun. My Solomon Gunn ;-)

@MrZombieHazard Exactly, the Infiltrator has an effective countermeasure to almost everything. Add your crews loyalty abilities on top and select the one you want and you can pretty much count yourself as OP lol.

Insanity is the only level that cryo ammo is any good, in any lower levels enemies have so little health its not worth it - by the time they freeze they have almost nothing left anyways...

Also i wonder what does more damage - point blank shot with a claymore or stealth shot with the widow - both with the same upgrades and both headshot

You overuse tactical cloak, and underuse incinerate

@Kablooshie since this is a NG+ the enemies can basically tear your shields apart in an instant. Using incinerate would not be advisable since that would put you out of cover. On the other hand maximum cloak plus widow can 1 shot enemies. These enemies have shields, imagine if they were wearing armor. 1 shot kill.

This may have something to do with the fact that i had the geth shield boost as a power, which i highly recommend for insanity. but i guess everyone plays the game differently even if you use the same class. just another reason why mass effect is such a great game

Just curious, but when you switched to your SMG wouldn't disruptor ammo be better for tearing through their shields instead of cryo? Personally when i play my infiltrator, i grab warp ammo, and will swap between that, and disruptor depending on the situation. So i've never gotten to know how cryo works, so should i be using that instead? And should i be dropping warp ammo as my special?

@Lancion getting squad cryo is a must for insanity! just get lvl2 disruptor. SMGs pretty much fuckk up shields by itself. Freezing enemies like krogans would make your playthrough really easy

i found that using armour piercing ammo was much miore effective against normal enimies (such as vorcha, i cant remember the ammo type, its yellow) but i switch to disrupter when i get a shielded or a synthetic enemy. cryo is good for smg. :D

Yea, mainly because the SMG does sunch a good job against shields I didn't feel like the disruptor ammo was necessary, however I really wanted the enemy to begin freezing as soon as it hit health.

On the Widow, I was hoping I could 1 shot the mercs without cloak but it didn't work, even though I am absolutely maxed as much as I can for this point in the game. Oh well. I switched it to cryo later for krogan since I could 1shot vorcha without special ammo. Snipers give a 1.5x boost against armor.

even the maxed out cryo ammo for your SR and SMG didn't seem so effective in taking out enemies. No one-shotting Vorchas?

And isn't there a danger of running out of ammo somewhere if you keep ejecting heat sinks after every enemy, even ones with 10-50 rounds still left?

i think no one shots is because he was playing on insane witch might mean they have alot more armor or heath and blah blah blah and the good thing about infiltrator the cloak is good because u can ether flank then with an smg,or sniper and to find ammo while thinking on the spot . pretty good runthrough

@Eibelsfeld I was able to one shot many of the basic vorcha troopers. When I don't its because I missed the headshot. On the mercs, I don't think they can be one shotted without cloak, although I was wearing the shield harness. I'll reload and wear N7 armor and see if its possible with that tiny 3% damage boost.

The cryo ammo here works a bit differently than a cryo blast. Far less of a damage boost and more just creating space and survivabiltiy, with a damage boost as a small bonus.

@ThatAverageGatsby nvm about the diff armor. Mine right now is maxed for weapon damage with the sniper. I had all possible upgrades at this point (as In I had done no other missions). Its not possible to oneshot mercs unless they have a) taken some damage or b) you are cloaked.

You really, really should take Warp or Tungsten Ammo for the sniper, it's a significant damage boost over Disruptor or Cryo.

This video is so full of awesome on so many levels. Lateralus is a great album, Cryo Ammo is taking enemies down all over the place and your Squad is on the ball at taking them out, plus: aggressive playing makes for aggressive Squad AI, I could continue for a while here.
