Good footage! I am guessing that you had either tough road building and/or lack of r/w access to the back end of the unit.

For folks not aware of forest practices regulations, note the timber "buffer strip" left (both hardwood and conifers) along the stream. The trees are to provide shade for the water and an area to filter runoff.

The conifers in the buffer will end up being 'snags' for bird habitat and/or fall and become woody structure in the stream.

Well, generally, nature naturally keeps things under control. That's called homeostasis (not assuming you're unintelligent, just not sure how much I need to say. I love YouTube comments sections [sarcasm]). Technically, populations of deer go down when brush amount goes down, so brush amount goes up, so deer population goes up, etc. It's a natural balance.
