@boredpersonthingy In drumming there are many approaches to the same rhythm while maintaining the correct feel for the song. What I'm playing in that part is not your average drum pattern, it's something I learned from the great drummer Steve Gadd. I've seen Neil Peart play a something similar in Subdivisions. It's not common. In church I've never seen the other 3 drummers or any other church drummer use that pattern.
@rhythmantic, i'm eleven now and i'm trying my best to play as well as you so can i suggest that you create a tutorial pls.I would really appreciate it, awsome drumming and praise the Lord!
@aidanyoubetterreply 1. create a software track 2. highlight the track 3. double click the "Info" button at bottom right 4. select Software Instrument tab 5. go to Sound Generator field 6. In the Audio Unit Modules contextual menu select Kontakt 4 7. under Sound Generator window double click the Kontakt 4 icon 8. Select Steven Slate Drums from the menu 9. Choose your kit 10. Record enable that track Viola! Let me know if this did it for you...."PLEASE REPLY!"
Another techno question for you: always been interested in expanding the sound library on my V-kit. I have a TD-20 module myself and LOVE the VX kits but have been interested in expanding to VST libraries like DKFH, Addictive Drums and now the Steven Slate package - his kits sound amazing in your vids! So for VST playback, does that require a dedicated PC to play thru your V-Kit or can you load the samples onto a CF card and play locally via the TD-20 module like the VX kits do?
@stikkman61 Unfortunately no, CF card access. The sampled software is triggered by the Roland module through a MIDI interface going USB to a computer (MacBook Pro). Superior has it's own app (Toontrack Solo), as does Steven Slate (Kontakt Player 4). Addictive Drums uses the host software such as Logic Pro or Garage Band. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any further questions, I like to share.
Another fine performance sir! Love the busy left hand work on the hat - really spices up the groove! Curious if you've updated your TD-20 sound module w/ the TDW-20 card yet? If so, have you found it a worthy upgrade? In addition to the sound and cymbal response improvements, I'm most interested in the ability to keep more than 50 kits resident in the brain - thoughts?
@stikkman61 Yes, it's worth upgrading for all the reasons you stated. You could store 100 kits, there are more snares, kicks, toms, cymbals, etc. and mixing/editing capabilities. Go for it & upgrade and after you do invest in some VExpressions kits, very inexpensive.
@MrNightshadow95 well thank you very much for your encouraging comments. I appreciate you taking the time to comment. I play this song in our church services quite often & I thought it be time to cover it.
@guitardds That's so good to hear especially after I've been checking out a bunch of great drummers on You Tube covering Rush/Neal Peart. thanks so much for listening and commenting.
@Virhali I can hear the cymbals even at my age (high freq range is the first to go). The cymbals volume is balanced with the rest of the kit, though on the whole this is not a high volume mix like some of my other videos. Thanks for checking it out & commenting. Keep playing guitar & posting, you are very good.
@Virhali Yea, I hear you. i sometimes balance my sound to well with the recording as I've noticed on some of my vids and so the hihats & cymbals don't stand out as well as say the snare. thanks for the tip, appreciate it.
I love the hat

@rhythmantic Yeah, I know ;) But like to me the whould be a little bit louder, especially hi-hat, but it's only my subjective opinion ;)
