  • Not to be confused with "Why Can't This Be Love" or "When It's Love", of Van Hagar fame.

  • fuck yeah..what a great tune!!

  • The most underrated record by VH, and chances are their best. It's impossible to feel pity or being ashamed upon seeing what this band has become

  • @MechaGojira00 I agree, that & Women & Children first are most underrated albums by Van Halen but there best album to me will always be there first record

  • @resdsox1 honestly i could never, in a million years, distinguish between the classic VH albums each one is just soo great for different reasons, making it too hard to value one over the other.

  • One of the greatest bands to ever walk the earth!

  • top of the mountain for these guys...still can't believe there are people who think they were better with Sammy the squid

  • @taypax The last Van Halen album was 1984. What came after (until today's release of 'A Different Kind of Truth') was not Van Halen. And that's not to diss Sammy, coz I loved his early solo stuff.

  • Base is beast

  • Base is beast...

  • bad ass nuff said

  • If someone is about to commit suicide, tell them to listen to Van Halen and they'll have a reason to live after all!!!

  • Don't under-appreciate the drumming and bass in this song. It's probably my favorite parts of the song, and they're fucking badass.

  • one hella band! don't be retarded, gather up the dave guy and dazzle the world again!

  • Click here 2:05 for one of the all time greatest rock screams.

  • one of my top favorite from van halen!!!

  • Killer solo! Killer band!!

  • @bassmanjoe The solo is so perfect here... the perfect amount of technique , not to much,,, elaborated... Love it !!!

  • @frband No doubt, my favorite VH album.

  • back when they rocked!!!!

  • before they got soft...!!!!!

  • Great album... bad album cover

  • @knotightul What? Such a great album cover man!

  • GOD I FUCKING HATE MY GENERATION!

  • Have you ever heard one bad Van Halen song? I think not. ROCK N ROLL!!!!

  • @ckelley63 Well maybe a little bit of an exaggeration, have you listened to Van Halen III HAHAHA. But I agree otherwise, Rock ON!!!

  • @TheHossy202 Point well taken!!!! LOL!!!!

  • The one chance that I was lucky enough to see Van Halen live was when they went on tour promoting this album ( Fair Warning ) I feel that even though I only saw them once live, that I caught their act at the absolute prime of their awesomeness..

  • This was the kind of music that made rock n roll. van halen went back to basics on this album and no one gave it a chance. it turned out to be there best album ever long after its release

  • the solos well good

  • This is my favorite, trying to play this when I was 13 and now when I'm 40 playing this along with the record.

    I thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • one person does not know how to rock!!!!!!!

  • crazy solo

  • Van Halen plays chords! o my! fuck bb king and Santana

  • I love that blues lick on the beginning of the solo, it's freaking beautiful and awesome.

  • VH just doesn't get the credit they deserve when it comes to musical ability. Ed's a surgeon, Alex is an animal, and Michael's a fuckin beast. They're always in the pocket.

  • @brojdub I'll drink to that!

  • This track is slammin' but has a volume error in the beginning. The engineer turns the bass why down and ruins the track from 0:06

I always have to adjust the volume manually. Eddie is such a drunk lazy bastard. These tracks need to be remastered. Let Dave help you Eddie.

  • @mrwilliamwonder whats going on is that old van halen records would have guitar coming from one speaker side and the bass guitar coming from the other speaker side

at the beginning of this song the bass is coming from both speakers and slowly transfers to one speak which is where it usualy was

  • @coltsrule5150 the Beatles were doing it years before VH : )

  • @horseboyken -----piss off.....that was 2 different genre`s!!!! idiot!

  • @DRpretorius39 all I said was that the Beatles were doing the voice/music on diffrent speakers before VH was dont get your little panties in twist

  • @horseboyken Your panties analogy is great. I was born in '49 in L.A., stayed until the early 70's and was a music listener before FM radio even existed. Having gone through the growing pains of AM radio, MONO recorded music and the infancy of high fidelity music equipment, I've traveled some musical miles. Whether you like the Beatles' music or not, their contributions to the recording and production process are as monumental as their space in rock and roll lore. Thank God my ears work great!!!

  • @horseboyken really beatles? not!!!

  • @mrwilliamwonder they use to use the guitar left speaker bass right speaker trick to make it feel more "live"

  • @mrwilliamwonder Oh my god!!! You have to spend 3 seconds going over to the volume control icon on your computer or turn your speaker up a bit!!! That's terrible!!! How will I live knowing that you must go through such hardships?!?!?!

Get real, man. It's a few decibles. Live with it.

  • @mrwilliamwonder With the power that this song begins with, that volume drop off at the beginning can really piss you off but that's what the volume knob is for. David Lee Roth is possibly the absolute perfect front man by application in the history of rock music. Sammy Hagar anyone? I don't think so!!!!!!!

  • @paraleverearl Ya, but I'm already maxed on volume so i get screwed every time,

  • @mrwilliamwonder There's never anything wrong with max volume. Enjoy.

  • One of my favorite VH songs. Catch that smell? And I hit the roof.

  • One dislike? Ha! Probably Sammy...

  • must have hit the mouse by accident on dislike. How can anybody not like this song?

  • @ninjamojo711 Probably thinks the song Jump is better...

  • great stuff !!! great cover !!! this album got a very special atmoshpere ...

  • This is what this band is all about heavy duty boogie with Diamond Dave holding court!

  • Van Halen described in 4 words. "OUT OF THIS WORLD"

  • This summer I'm gonna make a jazz arrangement of this song for my school's jazz band... It's gonna be awesome!

  • @PowerMetalEuphonist HELL YEA, DO IT UP KID....

  • great song. thanks for posting.....sounds REALLY good on here.

  • What key is this song written in?

  • i'm a mellow dude man, but keep sammy away from me :))))

  • i'm a mellow dude man, but keep sammy away from me :))))

  • Props to VanHalen765 for putting the tracks in order on auto-play.

  • god this gives me a Van Boner

  • Some people remember were they were the day JFK got assassinated or 911 happened. I remember exactly what I was doing the day i first heard this album . It was on a Emerson tape player on the mantle in my mom's living room. It STUNNED me and it still does all these years later.

  • 1 person doesn't know real love

  • David Lee Roth = ULTIMATE ROCK GOD

Eddie Van Halen = GOD OF 10 FINGERS & 6 STRINGS

Classic Van Halen = GREATEST BAND EVER EXISTED

  • @Hunkola ever heard of idol worship which our government tries to teach to not do except for hollywood and shit.

  • old Van Halen is fun music they never seemed to take themselves to seriously

  • aaaaoowya...!

  • DLR always sounds like he is just grinning his ass off when he is singing these songs

  • AAAAHHHHH YEA! FUCKIN RIGHT!

  • SO THIS IS LOVE!

  • r u fuckin kiddin.. read motleys /the dirt..dave would hog a pile of blow, never sharing nuthin, hangin at the motley house,4 starters..

  • Diamond Lee Roth = BITCHES & COCAINE 24 HRS. A DAY

  • @Hunkola Whats funny is that Diamond Dave wasnt a big coke do'er..he's perceived as such though. Hes a huge pothead though. To this day even. He talks some serious pot in his book. The hard shit he seemed to stay out of.

  • @ShivaTheAuspicious Dude, do your homework. Dave was a coke conniseur. He majored in cocaine. Even HE admits it. You know nothing.

  • @TheMusicman1971 Yea dude. Dave based his security hiring on weather or not they did blow

  • @ShivaTheAuspicious yeah, not true bud.dave loved the blow

  • 0 dislikes. IT BETTER STAY THAT WAY BEFORE I FIND OUT WHO THE DUMB ASSHOLE IS WHO DISLIKED IT!

  • Van Halen makes me glad I was born.

  • YEAH THATS RIGHT! It better not have any dislikes!!! =D

  • Diamond Lee Roth = FUCKED ALL THE HOTTEST LADIES

And this song was the proof......

  • (Does a flying roundhouse kick) "WAAAAAAOW!!!!!"

  • holy shit this song kicks some major fucking ass

  • vh played grand funks /some kind of wonderful in the old days.

  • This song is beast keep kickin ass DLR

  • Love Van Halen but this is too similar to Footstompin' Music by Grand Funk Railroad

  • All my best to Monica!

    You Rock!

  • This was the song going through my head when I had my first kiss.

  • " Well, my baby's on the corner and she lookin' so fine --- put one-and-one together and it blow my mind !! "

  • Did anyone else ever notice the production error at between 0:07-0:11? It sounds like an engineer decided Michael's bass was too loud and turned it down for those four or five seconds. Of course, I could have my head up my ass and not know what I'm talking about, but that part never sounded right to me. Anyone have their own theory on what happened there?

  • @jjp009 I notice that too,I always go to turn it up.

  • @jjp009 no you nailed it

  • @jjp009 I also noticed that

  • @jjp009 I think they did that one purpose. cause the bass is supposed to carry the intro at first, setting the groove, then they bring it drown a little bit to make you listen in close so they can hit you hard with the powerful bridge going into the chorus.

  • @jjp009 I think they did that one on purpose. cause the bass is meant to carry the intro at first, setting the groove, then they bring it down a little bit to get you to listen in close.......... then hit you HARD with the powerful bridge going into the chorus. rock 'n roll.

  • @jjp009 I was just going to comment on that. I think it's a mastering error--it sounds like everything got faded, not just MA. Whatever it is, it's REALLY noticeable. It happens again at 0:48.

  • @Exilemainstreet I think at 0:48 it was meant to be that way so it could get loud again for the chorus.

  • they never was the same without dave

  • Advanced

  • I don't think there has ever been a more complete rock band. The singing, backing vocals, bass, drums, guitars, hair, screaming, jumping, attitude, partying, women, sex appeal, drugs, drinking.. MICHAEL ANTHONY HAD A JACK DANIELS BASS FOR CHRIST SAKE! Greatest band ever.

  • @Sickman1968 So true

  • @Sickman1968 I totally agree, they fucking kickass and they are cool and had a sense of humor about there music to which is a rarity. Yeah the J.D. bass guitar is legendary as well!

  • @Sickman1968 not neccesarily the beast but one of the best

  • @Sickman1968 Oh! You SAID IT!!!!!! I can't say it much better. Nobody like the firery Van Halen.

  • Behold!

The Mighty Van Halen. SWAGGERING GIANTS of rock'n roll for ALL TIME!

  • Comment removed

  • Van Hagar was better.LOL Just kidding.I love this album.I got it for xmas when i was 15( 1981). still have it.I also got Black sabbath mob rules for xmas.Great time to be young

  • I've said for years that I'll listen to a bands hits until I reach my saturation point but I'll listen to their obscure songs forever cause I'll never get sick of them.

  • Yeah the volume turn down is on the original Album, I have the original I purchased as a kid

  • lol I still hear the volume turn down in the intro just like the album I have.. good job!!!!

  • @AGENTxx47 Always wondered that myself.

  • Diamond Lee Roth fucking owns in this song --- he sings with so much cocky attitude and fun!

  • you are killing me with this volume fluctuations {:<

  • @Peacenrespect I thinkthe volume is just part of the song....i think, not sure.

  • I had to peg my volume on this one!

  • i love this songg.. i grew up listening this song with my uncles..

  • NICE

  • The bass on this song and whole album is absolutly outstanding

  • definitely one of VH's best!

  • and Dave doesn't get credit for being an awesome vocalist. What a shame. Imo, one of the greatest rock vocalists EVER during this period. The smoking did takes its toll later on, though.

  • HELL YAH fuck that van hagar shit

  • good vocals one of my fav van halen songs atm

  • I dont know what the band was drinkin' or smokin' or snortin' during the recording of this album.........but they had lightning in a bottle.......every song on this album was fucking unreal and timeless.

  • i really just meant punk as in badass, not punk music.

    sorry.

i know what punk music is .

  • hella good song c eagle

  • @3283gieni right with you on that one...saw them on this tour

  • @3283gieni Michael Anthony did the art work for the cover..also diver down cover.

  • @fistchips No he didn't....The front cover art features a detail from "The Maze," a painting by the Canadian artist William Kurelek

  • @tittyj2020 ..hmmm..I got the info years ago from an entertainment mag..falsely informed i spose..my bad.

  • @3283gieni No doubt, my favorite VH record....

  • ONE OF MY ALLTIME FAVE GUITAR SOLOS!

  • scitball i love van halen and i love ed's solos..this is one of my favourites as well..but my all-time favouriet would prob have to go to ice cream man
