I play in a band, and I enjoy playing for me and for the people, I don't know how much money comes from a record's selling, but in my opinion a "shared" album is one less sold, so less money for the band to continue the projects, on the other hand, if the record selling is not a large part of the business, try to get as much money as you can is not so good, 'cause you're selling your soul..it's not so much easy anyway..

To me, a CD is like a buisness card. People will find your music on a CD and if they like it, they will pay good money to see you live. I am more than happy to share my music with the world for free but I am not smart enough with computers to get my CD out there for people to listen to for free.... I might not own any Metallica CD's but I did go and see them in concert when they came out.....

I play in a band, and I enjoy playing for me and for the people, I don't know how much money comes from a record's selling, but in my opinion a "shared" album is one less sold, so less money for the band to continue the projects, on the other hand, if the record selling is not a large part of the business, try to get as much money as you can is not so good, 'cause you're selling your soul..it's not so much easy anyway..

To me, a CD is like a buisness card. People will find your music on a CD and if they like it, they will pay good money to see you live. I am more than happy to share my music with the world for free but I am not smart enough with computers to get my CD out there for people to listen to for free.... I might not own any Metallica CD's but I did go and see them in concert when they came out.....

not a fan of metallica but if i want to sit in the 3rd tier of the o2 arena to 'see' them live, its gonna cost me 70 quid.. you make enough money from gigs and adverts. im not keen on stealing music unless its highway robery to see you live.

@predatorking100 they make loads of money from the tickets they sell at gigs. since the 90's radio became about broadcasting music that was more heavily funded by the major record company instead of widespread popular demand, hence the downfall of mtv and other such programs. im not saying that it should all just be available to download for free. but if the band like metallica or rappers like eminem are charging £150 for a decent seat and are selling out the o2 and they make £50 for every radio
