I swear, this bridge was designed by Satan. Nothing between the lanes, and only Jersey barriers protecting you from the Potomac. I used to have NIGHTMARES about this bridge when I was little, and thought it was just something from my dreams, until I found myself driving over it one day, years later, as an adult.
Never again.
I don't care how many miles it takes me out of my way to go around it. :)
@kkovelant LOL You are so right! I've never been on this bridge in my life, and of course the first time I encounter it I'm driving a gigantic moving truck. I have never been scared of bridges, but this was terrifying.
the music I added covers up my screams. I'm terrified of bridges. It is worse when cars are coming from the other direction. For me to turn the camera to view the actual waterline took great strength. hahahaha
The bridge in the picture is The Key Bridge. The nice bridge has a narrow span and more resembles the cantilever span of the Westbound span of The Chesapeake Bay Bridge
@WayneAlexanderM - It's the eastbound span of the Bay Bridge on the Queen Anne's side of the boundary which is a cantilever design. The westbound span on the same side is a steel arch design, JFTR.
the still photo at the beginning was found on the web, marked "Governor Harry W. Nice Memorial Bridge" and it looked exactly like the bridge I traveled over. The video is one continuous shot as I drove across the bridge. I have a terrific fear of bridges, so I try to force myself to go across bridges. The music covers up my nervous laughter and squeals. lol
So do I have a fear of bridges, I traveled over this bridge as a kid in the 70s on our summer vacations to my Grandmothers house in Va. I was always terrified of this bridge and it still looks scary especially with on coming traffic. I never knew it was 1.7 miles no wonder it seemed like we were on it forever. This is nuthin compared to the bay bridge but 1.7 miles is no cake walk, thanx for the trip down memory lane.

That first picture looks like the Key Bridge in Baltimore. Doesn't the Nice Bridge look a bit like the Hatem Bridge in Havre De Grace?
