Weird this video is being swamped by US liberals, supporting big government when in fact this sketch shows the fallacy of the common anti-imperialist.
Could have been the American founding fathers discussing "What have the British ever done for us".
@MrGilles1990 Republican propagandists lie (and lots of people believe) that government isn't good for anything except defense. This video is a reminder of how wrong that belief is. Hardcore conservatives would stubbornly cling to that belief no matter how much evidence of the contrary, but normal people would benefit from the reminder.
@AGiantSloar Government can be good but not for most things, it can be good for infrastructure, defence and education but not for most things. Evidence is not of the contrary, Socialist countries mostly collapse under the stress of debt caused by overspending, the US is in economic hardship because of 11 years of huge government and over spending.
@MrGilles1990 I don't know what you mean by "most things," but government is good for much more than could be listed here or fit into a video. The US is in economic hardship not because of government overspending, but because of the collapse of the housing bubble as well as the deregulation of the '80s which led to major banks collapsing.
@MrGilles1990 The economic downturn has to do with unemployment and stagnant GDP, not government debt. And on that topic, your premise is wrong. The US is not in a debt crisis. A long-term problem, yes, but not a crisis. Government debt is being bought at high levels, interest rates are low, and steps are being taken to reign in the long-term debt. As to why the debt is so high, it's mostly due to short-term expenditures (wars, stimulus etc) and reduced revenues due to recession.
@MrGilles1990 Regarding nationalized health care, people who use Britain's NHS report a high level of satisfaction with their care. The US, BTW, did not nationalize its health care system. It remains a private system under the new health care laws.
@AGiantSloar LOL I am one who uses the NHS, and I am telling you, having been to France, the NHS is awful for the amount of money we waste on it. America does not have a good healthcare system, but look at Germany or France for examples of how to make it work, don't take the USSR/UK route. I wouldn't know about the new health care laws, but I am warning you do not nationalise your healthcare, just look at other private models.
@MrGilles1990 Actually, if you would bother to research what it's done, you would find that it cures glaucoma, helps with symptoms related to cancer, helps with chronic pains, and there is research currently being done to see it's effectiveness with treating ADHD patients.
Your question can literally be related to the ignorant guy in this video that is asking "what have the Romans done for us?"
@supralegus lolz i wont waste time educate you how One-child policy works and its pros and cons, that will take pages to explain, i 'll just let you know this policy never applied to Tibetan, ever. It aims at Han Chinese only, Tibetan, Uighur and other Chinese minorities are completely free from it.
@luoshuigui almost all chinese doesn't like it, even the chinese gov't doesn't like it but they all know that they must follow it, because its necessary.
@Jeromepsy001 Although, if genetic technology moves forward to the point of being able to pick the gender, the one-child policy may be extended to a two-child policy i.e. one male and one female child per heterosexual Han Chinese couple as a way of maintaining population to an extent where the only growth would come from immigration.
@SuperSmashyfication Yeah! thats a great Idea, I was thinking of technologies that would be able to help sustain settlements in far remote areas like the himalayas or the sahara dessert then improve it commercially.
@TheMslaura811 shut up retard! this conversation would only take place among liberals. lol conservatives are much smarter and would understand that no matter what the Romans had done they were still opressive! a true liberal wants the government to rule them! that is why they argue over what the Romans did for them! they agree that the Romans made their life better even while hating them.
Well all races from the Northern Hemisphere are sprung from the humans who emigrated from Africa two thousand centuries ago and evolved in the ice ages into more intelligent, disciplined, moral beings. What we call Negroes today, Bantu mostly, come from West Africa, and their environment didnt alter, so they didnt alter, over 200,000 years. That explains the total lack of cultural achievement in Africa and also the biological and mental differences.
@AndreHiltre Is this really the best you have to offer? This latest whimpering bleat of yours is, as usual, badly written, unsupported, ignorant, deliberately misleading and downright wrong. It seems born of a mean spirited bitterness that could only stem from your own inadequacy as a man. And you evidently have some sort of masochistic guilt complex that makes you keep coming back here, where you have been exposed yet again for being what you are: a moronic 3rd rate racist gullible coward.
If anyone else is, for any weirdly masochistic reason, bothering to read this: Andre is MY racist (and gimp) and I will do with him what I please. Please leave him alone. Of course I shouldn't have to say it , but pay absolutely no attention to what he says. His bark is worse than his bite (and sadly his breath his even worse than his bark). He looks quite cute in those little shorts of his though, if any ladies want to borrow him for some "breeding", which, as you can see, he is quite a fan of!
Wow! Just look at all the little racist comments! How sweet! To think there really are people out there who believe membership of one epidermal subgroup confers some sort of superiority over those with membership of some other epidermal subgroup. Brave, if simple, people, who evidently like flying in the face of, amongst other things, reality. It's kinda cute sharing a planet with creatures of such juvenile and primitive mindset. Might see if I can catch one and have it stuffed
@AyatollahBanana Wow! A social-equality fanatic! A common breed these days. So you do not believe that any race is superior or inferior to another? Is that correct?
How the bloody hell has a classic piece of humour led to debate about IQ tests in Equatorial Guinea? Watch the clip, laugh and move on with your lives. It's that bloody simple people.
I disagree with that scene.Civilization is great if it can buy, steal or learn new technology from better developed civilization but maintains its own culture in the same time.Civilizat that follows other blindly looses respect for their own ancestors and disappear.Japan in late 19th century learned from Europe as much as they needed (technology, modern army) but still had they own traditions.BTW Romans learned a lot of skills from conquered nations..respect traditions of your ancestors
WTF does any of this have to do with race? People are fixated on the most hateful things. There is is only one human race... that's a biological fact. You nut cases need to go over the the Triumph Des Willens video and post your crap there.
When we had a 'normal' president in Poland about 12 years ago- Life of Brian used to be on telly quite often, not like nowadays- unfortunately. I remember myself as 16 years old and my brother 14 watching it and rolling on the floor from laughter. The best movie ever- should be compulsory in schools to make kids think and let them to make their own decisions regarding their faith.
It has already been established that not all members were english, so what? The english are renowned for their humour, if you're english then be proud over that. Enjoy the various Monty Python clips and have a laugh like the rest of us, people need to relax more.
ericvandenhaas.....gillliam is american and jones is welsh.david lloyd was coach of england's cricket team when he asked the players to write an essay on what it meant to play for england.one player wrote it all in welsh.
as for humour being the cornerstone of english culture rowan atkinson was correct in pointing out that if shakespeare had wanted a play to be funny he would have put a joke in it.

Tea Bagger: Apart from the infrastructure, clean air and water, social security, medicare, general education, fire department, the police, printed currency, the Constitution, and the military... what have Big Government ever done for us?
Europe would have been SO different if there wasn't a Roman Empire...there mightn't have been a Renaissance without the Romans, and therefore a lot of the knowledge we have from the Romans and the Renaissance would be gone. and where would that leave us..hmm?

@ryanhhcheung I was paraphrasing another person's comment so that it was more understandable. That is not my own opinon. I'm in fact majoring in Ancient History so I think any ignorant opinon such as the one I paraphrased is stupid.
@kingcherub hahaha I love you. That is the best and simplest way to express it. Great work. Such a false dichotomy the Statists use! It's the same thing a woman tells herself when her man beats her yet she still keeps coming back!!!!!!!!!!!
Robert Mugabe: Apart from the roads, railways, airports, hospitals, schools, parliament, law courts, books, writen language, farms, currency, clothes and shoes.... what have the Whites ever done for us?
@AndreHiltre The first roads were made by the Sumerians, as was written language, law and currency. Paper, and hence the book, was invented by the ancient Egyptians. Agriculture was developed independently in Mesopotamia and India. The first schools were in ancient India and China. Hospitals were pioneered in the medieval Islamic world. Clothes predate civilisation, but the oldest known shoes were made by Native Americans. You're a racist idiot. Do some research.
@dannystringer3491 And you cant read. Did you see the first two words I wrote spelled Robert Mugabe? My comment is meant in a Zimbabwean context.
Also your facts are wrong, the oldest shoe ever found in 5,500 years old, and was unearthed in Armenia. If you cant get that right then why should anyone believe a word you say.
I see from your 'racist' taunts, that you are one of those equality fanatics that puts ideology before evidence.
@AndreHiltre No, your facts are wrong. The oldest LEATHER shoes were found in Armenia. The oldest shoes, which are 2-3,000 years older, were found in Oregon.
If by 'equality fanatic' you mean that I don't think white people are inherently better than anyone else, then you're right. White people did not invent civilisation, nor do we have the monopoly on it. From your profile it seems like your ideology is Nazism. There is no evidence that can support an ideology that sick.
@dannystringer3491 You sound like a really unhappy person. Also quite insane if you think that every racial type is equal. Equality is a relative term. In a 500 meter sprint in +45 degrees, an East African is superior to a Jap or Euro. Maybe you are one of these nuts who doesnt believe in evolution either. but if you do, then you have to face the fact that we evolve to suit our environment, and humanoids have evolved different racial groups with different physical and mental abilities.
@AndreHiltre The only thing that makes me unhappy is that in this day and age there are still people determined to believe that they are better than everyone else.
Yes, I believe in evolution. If you actually look it up yourself, you'll find that all humans emerged from Africa 50,000 years ago. There is no link at all between race and intelligence. Go peddle your hate in the dark ages where it belongs.
@dannystringer3491 I beg your pardon? Let me quote you there, ALL Humans emerged from Africa 50,000 years ago. You clearly dont have any education on this subject so why do you humiliate yourself by making such bogus claims? Anatomically similar humans emerged 200,000 years ago according to the fossil evidence. Mongoloid and Caucasoid races stem from humans who left the African continent 150,000 years ago. We have evolved in a different environment to Negroids for over one thousand centuries.
@AndreHiltre: Most scientist agree that out of Africa occurred around 40.000 years ago, for the CURRENT humans. It is true that there was a previous colonization of humans out of Africa 200.000 years ago, but there are no traces of these people in the genetics of modern humans. We are indeed one race, with very limited genetic variation. The rest is culture and environment. Yes, whites perform better in IQ tests: perhaps because IQ tests were devised and perfected by whites for use on whites?
@tomasipaolo Interesting propaganda. Perhaps some facts now.
You lied when you said the majority of scientists, the current concensus is that at the very least, we Europeans and Asians left Africa 100,000 years ago or more. And there are traces of the earliest settlers in modern DNA. We are not One Race, as you ideologically insist. Race is real, it exists. We are one species. You say IQ tests favour whites because whites devised them.... then how come Asians do better than whites on average?
@AndreHiltre Ehem, those tests were done in the US. They don't accurately represent Europeans (Whites) or Asians. African-Americans are not proper Africans either.
@ope2244 No, if you did some research you would discover that IQ tests have been conducted throughout Africa. The lowest found was in West Africa, particularly Equatorial Guinea where the average would be classified as border line retardation in Europe.
In regards to your last contention I would make three points. 1. Many African Americans surely have predominantly African ancestry. 2. IQ tests in America show blackmixed race to have lower IQ than white/asian. 3 The correct term is Negroid.
@dannystringer3491 If you dont think that evolution can occur over 150,000 to 100,000 years in a totally different environment then you are truly stupid. This is not about 'peddling hate in the dark ages'! That phraze reveals how your views stem from an emotional irrational desire to prevent a challenge to your belief system. Caucasoids and Mongoloids developed higher intelligence than negroids over that period, while the negroids retained greater physical strength. Facts today can bear this out
@dannystringer3491 Such as the fact that despite white people spending more money on training and having better access to fascilities, high speed running and boxing is dominated by blacks.
Colour blind IQ tests in Europe, Africa, Asia and America all show the same results, blacks have significantly lower quotients than whites or Asians. And it's nothing to do with class. A working class white 11 year old statistically has higher IQ than a middle class black 11 year old.
@AndreHiltre Really? You're going to argue that the 'Whites' have done those things? Math wasn't created by the 'whites' and ALL of those things are based off of mathematics. Clothes, currency, written language, courts of law, schools, and hospitals weren't created by white people. You really should do some research before you talk on the internet.
@7itanium452112 Well the term mathematics was coined by the ancient Greeks, white men, from the word mathema meaning 'subject of instruction'. The Chinese also were great pioneers of mathematics, and they are light skinned also. Civilisation, which includes all the things you mentioned, and I mentioned, has sprung up accross the European and Asian world, but not in sub-saharan Africa. That is because of evolutionary and genetic reasons.
@AndreHiltre Re your point on civilisation: You have also forgotten Arabic, Persian, Indian, Khmer, Thai, as well as Egyptian Ethiopian, Benin, Zimbabwe, Timbuctou, Khoisan, actually I could go on and would but for space. I was trying to think of something invented specifically by white africans (as opposed to just brought there by foreigners). Nada. Not even racism. Did you know Paul Kruger refused to believe in kangaroos cos they weren't mentioned in the bible? And thought the earth was flat?
@AndreHiltre Did you know that Hitler (I see you've named yourself after him, though you have spelled his name incorrectly) only had one ball? And can you explain why the side with the black soldiers was the one that won the second world war?
@AyatollahBanana Yes, they would be the black soldiers that the US government experimented on, used as cannon fodder and wouldnt allow to join the Marine Corps? Are those the ones?
@AndreHiltre What a despicable comment. For shame. In point of fact 2.5 million US blacks volunteered in WW2. Men like Private Howard P Perry (US Marine Corps). But ALL risked, and some lost, their lives so that Europe, a continent with which they had no connection, might be liberated from racist tyranny. And this less than 100 years after the abolition of slavery in the US. I cannot think of an act more noble or humane than their sacrifice. I cannot imagine a greater act of heroism.
@AndreHiltre It is sadly true that discrimination was rife in those days. But today we recognise it, and are ashamed. And we pay tribute to Black heroism, their bravery, and their sacrifice. We will NEVER forget it. We will always remember and be thankful for the time and freedom they bought us, paid for with their own lives. And we will remember our inheritance, and make damn sure we set the record straight in the face of lying weaselly, ignorant racist scum like you. For shame. Hang your head
@AyatollahBanana You love the sound of your own voice dont you. You like making speeches, whilst looking at yourself in the mirror. You are what Flashman would have called, 'an upperty nigger'.
@AndreHiltre The word you are looking for is "uppity". But I see you haven't answered a single one of my points. NOT A SINGLE ONE! You sneer at decorated war heroes, making full use of the freedom of expression they fought for, anonymously hiding like a snivelling rat behind your stupid pseudonym. And then, in desperation, with nothing tleft to say, you turn to abuse. And you can't even spell it properly. How pathetic. How spineless. How contemptible.
@AndreHiltre Greeks have only officially been "white" here in the U.S. for less than a century. Whites loved to wax poetic about the ancient Greeks but wanted nothing to do with the real living ones. You're stretching even farther on the Chinese--yes, light-skinned, but today still not "white." The entire human species arose from sub-saharan Africa. If you think you can top that feat, good luck to you.
@danaseilhan Excuse me, but Andre Hiltre is MY racist. If you want to insult, pick on, dump on, expose, or humiliate a racist, GO AND GET YOUR OWN!! Why should I have to share?
@tom91775 Well watching parents in that documentary often crying and looking so defeated I question whether they're against privatizing them. What makes you so confident that they favour the current system? I know you can't be bothered watching the documentary because it would break your heart to give another person's point of view a chance but they don't seem like great admirers of the American government school joke.
@tom91775 "How do you explain that the government has become smaller." If that was supposed to be a joke then I'm not laughing. According to Wikipedia Republican president George W. Bush increased the national debt by $6,106,000,000,000. I don't won't to imagine how big it's become under Obama. And "deregulation", that is giving business at least a modicum of freedom after strangling it to death in the 60s and 70s is pretty much a joke. As I said go to Hong Kong if you want to see ec' freedom.
@tom91775 That doesn't make any sense at all. Private corporations are free to do business in the UK. They are free to do business in countries economically freer than the US like Hong Kong and Australia. Economic freedom exists here too. The government is not specially placed to impede them to stop "inequality" in any way. This is Marxist nonsense.
@tom91775 And in a truly free market where all are open to competition what will happen to the bad schools? Eeyup, they'll either have to improve or they'll go out of business. Without government money, if you're only source of revenue is satisfied customers, doing a bad job is simply not an option. This is such a simple concept I don't know why you can't understand it.
@RandLectures "Without government money, if you're only source of revenue is satisfied customers, doing a bad job is simply not an option." You've obviously never had Comcast as an ISP.
@RandLectures Comcast had a regional monopoly where I lived a few years ago, so the result was pretty much the same as if I had a beef with the municipal government: I had to move elsewhere.
@tom91775 Inequality, inequality, inequality, inequality. I was wondering how long it would take for you to use that magic word. Does "inequality" (whatever the hell that even means) exist in all the other countries in the world in which students are not failing in the same way as they are in the US?
@tom91775 I'm sure everybody would be up in arms: but that's not fair! Shoes are important! Do you want to live in a society where only rich people can afford shoes? Can you see the logical fallacy of your argument? If the market for schools was as free as the market for shoes or super high technology products like multi-billion transistor CPUs rich and poor alike could afford them and you know it.
@tom91775 I don't buy this rich/poor dichotomy argument. Imagine that the government had been providing free shoes for years because they're such a vital necessity - and I'm sure you'll agree they are. There are a few privately available leather boots available for about $800 for the lowest quality. Than one day somebody points out that the bland one size fits all government shoes need to be scrapped once and for all and that the private sector could provide better shoes.
@tom91775 And as for your comment before about blowing the system up: if somethings broken it's needs to be fixed not "reformed". That's just a euphemism for "business as usual".
@tom91775 So you don't know what will work, but you do know what won't work? And if you just took time to watch the documentary you'll find that's it's not very entertaining at all, it's sickening. And the documentary goes into the things that educators have to deal with - like allowing a class to run wild and "teaching them" by letting them play board games.
@tom91775 Most don't like the system... so let's leave it as it is? If you accept that most people who are not members of teacher's unions don't like the system what do you propose? Pure private education did exist in the US once. So did private currency backed by real value, not just the promise of future work. And you know what, there where no periodic recessions then. I'm afraid I have reality and history on my side.
@tom91775 So it's a matter of emotion and ideology? You don't like the idea of it working, ergo it won't work? Why don't you give me real world example of the few times free markets have existed, failing rather than just telling me they will? And I'm an Objectivist not a libertarian. In the US libertarians seem to be all over the shop preaching dappy ideas like competing police forces and have an irrational anti-government sentiment that I don't have.
@tom91775 But so what? Let's stifle children and make sure they get the worst education possible just because (you claim/believe) that's what most people want? Why is that any different from living in an aristocracy?
@tom91775 Why wouldn't it work? Name me one commodity or service that, when left to be provided by the free market (by people who do or don't seek profit) doesn't produce such results. Likewise give me one example in which monopolized industries do. And if you can be bothered to watch that documentary and see the issue from another person's point of view then can you explain why European students typically got much higher scores than American students at high school level? Is that a fluke?
@tom91775 Yawn. I'm in favour of some kind of "aristocracy" now? And there's a big difference between "drink up Socrates, it's all natural" democracy and American representative democracy. Plus I'd hardly say public opinion is on your side anyway. Watching that documentary and seeing parents crossing their fingers as their children have to go through a literal lottery to get into a good school. Yeah public opinion really favours that.
@tom91775 And have you actually watched Stossel's documentary? I'm very fond of America, but any American watching that doc should feel embarrassed and it should be seen as a call for change. And to those Americans who claim that Europe's government institutions are better than America's I agree: look at how schools are run here! (At least in some places here.) Follow our lead.
@tom91775 What does "public opinion" have to do with anything? I'm sure public opinion is strongly in favour of stoning women to death for the crime of being raped in Saudi Arabia, but that doesn't make it right. Morality is not based upon public opinion. You haven't provided any rational argument why a private education system wouldn't produce the same amazing results as, say, the private technology industry has. Being "radical" and "against public opinion" are not valid arguments.
@tom91775 And I'm not "lecturing" anybody, so don't think you can negate reality by using such preposterous language. Watch Stossel's program Stupid in America. If you hate private enterprise so much then compare the American unionized monopoly to European schools in which money is attached to a student instead of a school. The governments still own the schools but what a difference competition makes. Monopoly = stagnation, without exception.
@tom91775 Are you paying attention to a single word I say? I'm not talking about the situation in America right now, I'm talking about what it will look like if you break up the government monopolized union run farce of an "education system" you run at the moment and allow private firms (and not for profit charities) to compete for students. Do you really think schools will still be so expensive? Look at the price of computes when the market is free. 6 billion transistors = $400.
@tom91775 So every private school is highly religious, and if America abandoned it's government monopoly on education evolution would never be taught in any of the new competing schools. Good non-argument there. You want to see what REAL problems in schools look like? Watch the video "Stupid in America".
@ericvandenhaas . Your facts aren't entirely correct, however. Terry Gilliam was born, raised and educated in the U.S. including attending college at Occidental College in Southern California, the same as President Obama. He only took British citizenship in 1968 around the same time he joined MPFC.
No denying English humor. It's leagues and lifetimes away from what passes as humor today in the U.S. And I'm saying that as an American.
@ericvandenhaas Not all of them! Terry Gilliam is an American. The problem with you Britons is that when someone is OK- like Terry or brings you olympic medals despite originally being from country you hate etc. - then it's jolly good. If Terry Gilliam was a person known for bad reasons you'd say that he's a bloody American. Considering English culture...I study in London at the moment and majority of English students have never heard of Monty Phyton and their sense of humour is far from it.
not only the funniest movie in history- but also the most profound satire on organized religion- highly intelligent - genius writing- and well deserved cult status!!!
@theblum2004 Not only is it a profound satire on organized religion, but it is also a satire on anti government propaganda. So many love to be antigovernment as they get in their cars everyday and drive on paved roads, flush their toilets, visit the national parks, pick up the phone and call a policeman when they need protection, call the fire department when their house is burning down, send their kids to school to get an education, etc.
@TheMslaura811 I'd question whether American state schools provide an education at all. If you had a choice between sending you child to a state school or a private one which would you choose? In fact in all situations where the governments actually leaves us free to choose between the private sector and what they force us to accept what do we all choose? When the government forces us to accept what they provide there isn't really much of a choice is there?
@RandLectures I have been a teacher for 28 years. In that time, I have had a significant number of parents decide to save their money and put their child in public school. My newest victim: a little girl named Emily this year who entered our school in my fourth grade class. She tested at a 1.8 reading level. Private schools do not require their teachers to be certified....enough said.
@TheMslaura811 So you're a teacher at a government school? There's not a chance that maybe you may have a bias in favour of them then? I know most people (in the UK at least) would jump at the chance to drag their children out of a government run brainwashing centre and finally give them a chance to gain a real education. I never said anything about the price. If government didn't monopolize the industry then price wouldn't be an issue. Look at the cost of computers since the market is free.
@RandLectures You have choice: to walk from your home to your job and not use the roads, you have a choice to go get your water from a polluted water source and carry it to your home, you have a choice to send your letters using Fed Ex or UPS at around $12.00 a letter, you have a choice to try and put your own fires out, you even have a choice on whether to be ignorant.
@TheMslaura811 "Keep your government hands off of my Medicare"
And do you have any idea how much that makes me laugh too? I guess if you don't laugh you'll only cry. Society has become so demoralized and accustomized to statism that people who claim they are "anti-government" are phonies who are all to happy to suckle at the government teat. And if you paid attention to what I said I actually said what would you choose the private or government services when given a chance?
@TheMslaura811 If the government gives us the choice between "public" sanitation and drinking from polluted rivers then the choice is obvious: go to the supermarket and by mineral water. That's what I do anyway. I live in the UK and when I finally decided to give private health care a try to get help for something the NHS hasn't helped me with for more than 14 years the only shock is that I got the appointment within 2 days not 6 months. Granted it was only a consultation but two fucking days!
hahaha they got a point!or two!

@AGiantSloar So the US is not in a debt crisis because of overspending?
Believe me, government is poor at most things, I have lived in a country with a nationalised health care system, it's not good.

AGiantSloar 6 days ago

AndreHiltre 2 months ago
@AndreHiltre Is this really the best you have to offer? This latest whimpering bleat of yours is, as usual, badly written, unsupported, ignorant, deliberately misleading and downright wrong. It seems born of a mean spirited bitterness that could only stem from your own inadequacy as a man. And you evidently have some sort of masochistic guilt complex that makes you keep coming back here, where you have been exposed yet again for being what you are: a moronic 3rd rate racist gullible coward.
AyatollahBanana 2 months ago
If anyone else is, for any weirdly masochistic reason, bothering to read this: Andre is MY racist (and gimp) and I will do with him what I please. Please leave him alone. Of course I shouldn't have to say it , but pay absolutely no attention to what he says. His bark is worse than his bite (and sadly his breath his even worse than his bark). He looks quite cute in those little shorts of his though, if any ladies want to borrow him for some "breeding", which, as you can see, he is quite a fan of!
AyatollahBanana 2 months ago

AndreHiltre 4 months ago 58
@AndreHiltre romans are white, they are from europe
Raindogs2342 3 months ago
@AndreHiltre The first roads were made by the Sumerians, as was written language, law and currency. Paper, and hence the book, was invented by the ancient Egyptians. Agriculture was developed independently in Mesopotamia and India. The first schools were in ancient India and China. Hospitals were pioneered in the medieval Islamic world. Clothes predate civilisation, but the oldest known shoes were made by Native Americans. You're a racist idiot. Do some research.
dannystringer3491 3 months ago
@dannystringer3491 And you cant read. Did you see the first two words I wrote spelled Robert Mugabe? My comment is meant in a Zimbabwean context.
Also your facts are wrong, the oldest shoe ever found in 5,500 years old, and was unearthed in Armenia. If you cant get that right then why should anyone believe a word you say.
I see from your 'racist' taunts, that you are one of those equality fanatics that puts ideology before evidence.
AndreHiltre 3 months ago
@AndreHiltre No, your facts are wrong. The oldest LEATHER shoes were found in Armenia. The oldest shoes, which are 2-3,000 years older, were found in Oregon.
If by 'equality fanatic' you mean that I don't think white people are inherently better than anyone else, then you're right. White people did not invent civilisation, nor do we have the monopoly on it. From your profile it seems like your ideology is Nazism. There is no evidence that can support an ideology that sick.
dannystringer3491 3 months ago
@dannystringer3491 You sound like a really unhappy person. Also quite insane if you think that every racial type is equal. Equality is a relative term. In a 500 meter sprint in +45 degrees, an East African is superior to a Jap or Euro. Maybe you are one of these nuts who doesnt believe in evolution either. but if you do, then you have to face the fact that we evolve to suit our environment, and humanoids have evolved different racial groups with different physical and mental abilities.
AndreHiltre 3 months ago
@AndreHiltre The only thing that makes me unhappy is that in this day and age there are still people determined to believe that they are better than everyone else.
Yes, I believe in evolution. If you actually look it up yourself, you'll find that all humans emerged from Africa 50,000 years ago. There is no link at all between race and intelligence. Go peddle your hate in the dark ages where it belongs.
dannystringer3491 3 months ago
@dannystringer3491 I beg your pardon? Let me quote you there, ALL Humans emerged from Africa 50,000 years ago. You clearly dont have any education on this subject so why do you humiliate yourself by making such bogus claims? Anatomically similar humans emerged 200,000 years ago according to the fossil evidence. Mongoloid and Caucasoid races stem from humans who left the African continent 150,000 years ago. We have evolved in a different environment to Negroids for over one thousand centuries.
AndreHiltre 3 months ago
@AndreHiltre: Most scientist agree that out of Africa occurred around 40.000 years ago, for the CURRENT humans. It is true that there was a previous colonization of humans out of Africa 200.000 years ago, but there are no traces of these people in the genetics of modern humans. We are indeed one race, with very limited genetic variation. The rest is culture and environment. Yes, whites perform better in IQ tests: perhaps because IQ tests were devised and perfected by whites for use on whites?
tomasipaolo 2 months ago
@tomasipaolo Interesting propaganda. Perhaps some facts now.
You lied when you said the majority of scientists, the current concensus is that at the very least, we Europeans and Asians left Africa 100,000 years ago or more. And there are traces of the earliest settlers in modern DNA. We are not One Race, as you ideologically insist. Race is real, it exists. We are one species. You say IQ tests favour whites because whites devised them.... then how come Asians do better than whites on average?
AndreHiltre 2 months ago
@AndreHiltre Ehem, those tests were done in the US. They don't accurately represent Europeans (Whites) or Asians. African-Americans are not proper Africans either.
ope2244 2 months ago
@ope2244 No, if you did some research you would discover that IQ tests have been conducted throughout Africa. The lowest found was in West Africa, particularly Equatorial Guinea where the average would be classified as border line retardation in Europe.
In regards to your last contention I would make three points. 1. Many African Americans surely have predominantly African ancestry. 2. IQ tests in America show blackmixed race to have lower IQ than white/asian. 3 The correct term is Negroid.
AndreHiltre 2 months ago
@dannystringer3491 If you dont think that evolution can occur over 150,000 to 100,000 years in a totally different environment then you are truly stupid. This is not about 'peddling hate in the dark ages'! That phraze reveals how your views stem from an emotional irrational desire to prevent a challenge to your belief system. Caucasoids and Mongoloids developed higher intelligence than negroids over that period, while the negroids retained greater physical strength. Facts today can bear this out
AndreHiltre 3 months ago
@dannystringer3491 Such as the fact that despite white people spending more money on training and having better access to fascilities, high speed running and boxing is dominated by blacks.
Colour blind IQ tests in Europe, Africa, Asia and America all show the same results, blacks have significantly lower quotients than whites or Asians. And it's nothing to do with class. A working class white 11 year old statistically has higher IQ than a middle class black 11 year old.
AndreHiltre 3 months ago
@AndreHiltre Really? You're going to argue that the 'Whites' have done those things? Math wasn't created by the 'whites' and ALL of those things are based off of mathematics. Clothes, currency, written language, courts of law, schools, and hospitals weren't created by white people. You really should do some research before you talk on the internet.
7itanium452112 2 months ago
@7itanium452112 Well the term mathematics was coined by the ancient Greeks, white men, from the word mathema meaning 'subject of instruction'. The Chinese also were great pioneers of mathematics, and they are light skinned also. Civilisation, which includes all the things you mentioned, and I mentioned, has sprung up accross the European and Asian world, but not in sub-saharan Africa. That is because of evolutionary and genetic reasons.
AndreHiltre 2 months ago
@AndreHiltre Re your point on civilisation: You have also forgotten Arabic, Persian, Indian, Khmer, Thai, as well as Egyptian Ethiopian, Benin, Zimbabwe, Timbuctou, Khoisan, actually I could go on and would but for space. I was trying to think of something invented specifically by white africans (as opposed to just brought there by foreigners). Nada. Not even racism. Did you know Paul Kruger refused to believe in kangaroos cos they weren't mentioned in the bible? And thought the earth was flat?

AyatollahBanana 2 months ago
@AyatollahBanana Yes, they would be the black soldiers that the US government experimented on, used as cannon fodder and wouldnt allow to join the Marine Corps? Are those the ones?
AndreHiltre 2 months ago
@AndreHiltre What a despicable comment. For shame. In point of fact 2.5 million US blacks volunteered in WW2. Men like Private Howard P Perry (US Marine Corps). But ALL risked, and some lost, their lives so that Europe, a continent with which they had no connection, might be liberated from racist tyranny. And this less than 100 years after the abolition of slavery in the US. I cannot think of an act more noble or humane than their sacrifice. I cannot imagine a greater act of heroism.
AyatollahBanana 2 months ago
@AndreHiltre It is sadly true that discrimination was rife in those days. But today we recognise it, and are ashamed. And we pay tribute to Black heroism, their bravery, and their sacrifice. We will NEVER forget it. We will always remember and be thankful for the time and freedom they bought us, paid for with their own lives. And we will remember our inheritance, and make damn sure we set the record straight in the face of lying weaselly, ignorant racist scum like you. For shame. Hang your head

RandLectures 5 months ago
@tom91775 Well watching parents in that documentary often crying and looking so defeated I question whether they're against privatizing them. What makes you so confident that they favour the current system? I know you can't be bothered watching the documentary because it would break your heart to give another person's point of view a chance but they don't seem like great admirers of the American government school joke.
RandLectures 5 months ago
@tom91775 "How do you explain that the government has become smaller." If that was supposed to be a joke then I'm not laughing. According to Wikipedia Republican president George W. Bush increased the national debt by $6,106,000,000,000. I don't won't to imagine how big it's become under Obama. And "deregulation", that is giving business at least a modicum of freedom after strangling it to death in the 60s and 70s is pretty much a joke. As I said go to Hong Kong if you want to see ec' freedom.
RandLectures 5 months ago
@tom91775 That doesn't make any sense at all. Private corporations are free to do business in the UK. They are free to do business in countries economically freer than the US like Hong Kong and Australia. Economic freedom exists here too. The government is not specially placed to impede them to stop "inequality" in any way. This is Marxist nonsense.
RandLectures 5 months ago
@tom91775 And in a truly free market where all are open to competition what will happen to the bad schools? Eeyup, they'll either have to improve or they'll go out of business. Without government money, if you're only source of revenue is satisfied customers, doing a bad job is simply not an option. This is such a simple concept I don't know why you can't understand it.
RandLectures 5 months ago
@RandLectures *your.

@RandLectures "Without government money, if you're only source of revenue is satisfied customers, doing a bad job is simply not an option." You've obviously never had Comcast as an ISP.

@Wafflepudding Ever thought of moving to a different ISP? Just a hint. Try moving to a new government.
RandLectures 3 months ago
@RandLectures Comcast had a regional monopoly where I lived a few years ago, so the result was pretty much the same as if I had a beef with the municipal government: I had to move elsewhere.
Wafflepudding 3 months ago
@tom91775 Inequality, inequality, inequality, inequality. I was wondering how long it would take for you to use that magic word. Does "inequality" (whatever the hell that even means) exist in all the other countries in the world in which students are not failing in the same way as they are in the US?
RandLectures 5 months ago
@tom91775 I'm sure everybody would be up in arms: but that's not fair! Shoes are important! Do you want to live in a society where only rich people can afford shoes? Can you see the logical fallacy of your argument? If the market for schools was as free as the market for shoes or super high technology products like multi-billion transistor CPUs rich and poor alike could afford them and you know it.
RandLectures 5 months ago
@tom91775 I don't buy this rich/poor dichotomy argument. Imagine that the government had been providing free shoes for years because they're such a vital necessity - and I'm sure you'll agree they are. There are a few privately available leather boots available for about $800 for the lowest quality. Than one day somebody points out that the bland one size fits all government shoes need to be scrapped once and for all and that the private sector could provide better shoes.
RandLectures 5 months ago
@tom91775 And as for your comment before about blowing the system up: if somethings broken it's needs to be fixed not "reformed". That's just a euphemism for "business as usual".
RandLectures 5 months ago
@tom91775 So you don't know what will work, but you do know what won't work? And if you just took time to watch the documentary you'll find that's it's not very entertaining at all, it's sickening. And the documentary goes into the things that educators have to deal with - like allowing a class to run wild and "teaching them" by letting them play board games.
RandLectures 5 months ago
@tom91775 Most don't like the system... so let's leave it as it is? If you accept that most people who are not members of teacher's unions don't like the system what do you propose? Pure private education did exist in the US once. So did private currency backed by real value, not just the promise of future work. And you know what, there where no periodic recessions then. I'm afraid I have reality and history on my side.
RandLectures 5 months ago
@tom91775 So it's a matter of emotion and ideology? You don't like the idea of it working, ergo it won't work? Why don't you give me real world example of the few times free markets have existed, failing rather than just telling me they will? And I'm an Objectivist not a libertarian. In the US libertarians seem to be all over the shop preaching dappy ideas like competing police forces and have an irrational anti-government sentiment that I don't have.
RandLectures 5 months ago
@tom91775 But so what? Let's stifle children and make sure they get the worst education possible just because (you claim/believe) that's what most people want? Why is that any different from living in an aristocracy?
RandLectures 5 months ago
@tom91775 Why wouldn't it work? Name me one commodity or service that, when left to be provided by the free market (by people who do or don't seek profit) doesn't produce such results. Likewise give me one example in which monopolized industries do. And if you can be bothered to watch that documentary and see the issue from another person's point of view then can you explain why European students typically got much higher scores than American students at high school level? Is that a fluke?
RandLectures 5 months ago
@tom91775 Yawn. I'm in favour of some kind of "aristocracy" now? And there's a big difference between "drink up Socrates, it's all natural" democracy and American representative democracy. Plus I'd hardly say public opinion is on your side anyway. Watching that documentary and seeing parents crossing their fingers as their children have to go through a literal lottery to get into a good school. Yeah public opinion really favours that.
RandLectures 5 months ago

RandLectures 5 months ago
@tom91775 And I'm not "lecturing" anybody, so don't think you can negate reality by using such preposterous language. Watch Stossel's program Stupid in America. If you hate private enterprise so much then compare the American unionized monopoly to European schools in which money is attached to a student instead of a school. The governments still own the schools but what a difference competition makes. Monopoly = stagnation, without exception.
RandLectures 5 months ago
@tom91775 Are you paying attention to a single word I say? I'm not talking about the situation in America right now, I'm talking about what it will look like if you break up the government monopolized union run farce of an "education system" you run at the moment and allow private firms (and not for profit charities) to compete for students. Do you really think schools will still be so expensive? Look at the price of computes when the market is free. 6 billion transistors = $400.

@RandLectures *computers.

@tom91775 So every private school is highly religious, and if America abandoned it's government monopoly on education evolution would never be taught in any of the new competing schools. Good non-argument there. You want to see what REAL problems in schools look like? Watch the video "Stupid in America".

@ericvandenhaas Well Terry Gilliam was American. Although he's taken British citizenship now.

Considering English culture...I study in London at the moment and majority of English students have never heard of Monty Phyton and their sense of humour is far from it.

not only the funniest movie in history- but also the most profound satire on organized religion- highly intelligent - genius writing- and well deserved cult status!!!
theblum2004 5 months ago 2

RandLectures 5 months ago
@RandLectures I have been a teacher for 28 years. In that time, I have had a significant number of parents decide to save their money and put their child in public school. My newest victim: a little girl named Emily this year who entered our school in my fourth grade class. She tested at a 1.8 reading level. Private schools do not require their teachers to be certified....enough said.
TheMslaura811 5 months ago
@TheMslaura811 So you're a teacher at a government school? There's not a chance that maybe you may have a bias in favour of them then? I know most people (in the UK at least) would jump at the chance to drag their children out of a government run brainwashing centre and finally give them a chance to gain a real education. I never said anything about the price. If government didn't monopolize the industry then price wouldn't be an issue. Look at the cost of computers since the market is free.

TheMslaura811 5 months ago
@RandLectures You have choice: to walk from your home to your job and not use the roads, you have a choice to go get your water from a polluted water source and carry it to your home, you have a choice to send your letters using Fed Ex or UPS at around $12.00 a letter, you have a choice to try and put your own fires out, you even have a choice on whether to be ignorant.

@TheMslaura811 Loved it during the Teaparty rallies when you saw signs that said, "Keep your government hands off of my Medicare". Typical
TheMslaura811 5 months ago
@TheMslaura811 "Keep your government hands off of my Medicare"
And do you have any idea how much that makes me laugh too? I guess if you don't laugh you'll only cry. Society has become so demoralized and accustomized to statism that people who claim they are "anti-government" are phonies who are all to happy to suckle at the government teat. And if you paid attention to what I said I actually said what would you choose the private or government services when given a chance?
RandLectures 5 months ago
@TheMslaura811 If the government gives us the choice between "public" sanitation and drinking from polluted rivers then the choice is obvious: go to the supermarket and by mineral water. That's what I do anyway. I live in the UK and when I finally decided to give private health care a try to get help for something the NHS hasn't helped me with for more than 14 years the only shock is that I got the appointment within 2 days not 6 months. Granted it was only a consultation but two fucking days!
