Wonderful! I agree with CmorandAflo, 80s music is so much better than the crap we are subjected to these days everywhere. The 80s was the last gasp of great pop culture in America, and since then the Japanese have taken what we did and run with it, improved on it, and have outdone us at our own game. The Koreans are bringing their game as well these days. America has lost the pop culture battle with Asia, sad but true.
I grew up in the 80's and i still mentally escape tho those much easier more laid back times. The music was so different and the the world seemed much more bright back then. I would relive the 80's in a flash...
We Belong was Pat's entry into more softer stuff. This was a big hit but after it, Pat wasn't the same operatic singer belting out the rock anthems in CDs after this one. Yes, Pat was pregnant in that video.
When it came time to trim the bird this Thanksgiving, everybody was doing their own thing. We rounded everyone up around the table, the stereo was playing this song. It was like a family rally cry. For worse or for better, We belong together. The adults were singing the kids were cheering, all an all a pretty cheesy event but havent been able to get this song out of my head since. I hope to never forget that moment. Heres to the last of the GenXers who are realizing its our turn
Yes! Innocent we were! I was in the 4th grade and 80's music did not tsing about sex or killing like today, and it was just pure fun and a great era to grow up to! :-)
ye hit the nail on the head ax14196 ,the regular FM waves are too repetitive with certain classic rock songs and the new stuff is all electronic sound ,The Atlanta Rythm Section, for example along with allot of others at the time, in its day had real feeling and real mucicians in thier music in commercial FM music, now that is gone,if there is some good new stuff ,very little is played
How funny...you are challenged and resort to profanity....you kiss your momma with that mouth? Look bitch, I sense the best part of you ran down your momma's leg.....
has anyone ver wondered why we tend to gereralize in music whether it be by genre or decade???? i just wonder because i have found that though i was born in 92 nearly all the music i apreciate and love is form the early, middle and even late 80's.......wiertd but its the truth!!!!!!!!!!
I think we tend to categorize songs, music and bands into groups to create some form of order to the vast array of music that is out there.
Also. musical fads and crazes seem to evolve as a bell curve with a light beggining, a heavy middle, and again a light demise and it seems these trends last about 5 years (bee-bop, bubble gum, British invasion, hard rock, acid rock, singer/songwriters, disco, punk, dance, boy groups, rap, gansta rap, punk revival, girl groups) so ranking by decade is easy.
wow i love this song but the video clip does'nt do it justice. The song is soo powerful and liberating but this clip is shiiiitty wok.... pat waering too much makeup and boringly miming... such a let down
She was sick, as in morning sickness during the video shoot. And she wasn't miming, that is probably an effect of the video and audio on YOUTUBE being out of sync. BTW, her hands in pockets during the waterfall scene...holding on to come saltine crackers lest she have the urge to barf.
just finished High School and went to do my military service-when was totally fallin'in love with this Lady, helped me 'through my lonely nights',haha..just awesome!
Love Pat Benatar, I remember watching the 'look alikes' in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, great movie too by the way, killing the goose during the pool scene with Phoebe Cates
Great sound for this!! Congratulations!! A powerful song by Pat. She's so beautiful in this video. A song for the ages. This song is still heard often on LA radio stations.
