Of course 1/3 was an excessive cut. The real issue is that Rooney was key to training and preparing Mike - physically and psychologically. A smaller cut of a lot, is better than a large cut of a little. As it turns out Rooney was worth the cut - 37-0 before the split with Rooney and after that Mike was less than mediocre

Bernard Hopkins is the best P4P active fighter IMO. Manny is only 30 years old. If he continues his success when he goes over the hill then he gets my vote in year 2019. yeah I didn't even think of Bernard Hopkins but I can definitly see him as a great choice. The only bad thing about Hopkins is his 2 losses to Taylor & his loss to Roy Jones in which he never got a rematch. His win against Tarver was beautiful. So even if they didnt bud heads about Mike's marriage they may have had problems about Rooney's cut. Rooney eventually went bankrupt from buying horses and shyt.
