  • just wonderfull

  • where are these guys from. I want them playing at my wedding????

  • They are from Los Angeles. I was so lucky to recored these. I don't think they have played them in public since.

  • Beautiful. One of THE best arrangements I've heard--Truly.

  • Exactly, Gzarbe, I think they should be called a "String Quartet". The piano is also considered a "string instrument".

And I don't like this performance...it's too worldly.

  • This is excellent! But how can they be a piano quartet when there are more violins than pianos? So confused...

  • Well, even though there ARE more 'strings' (not just violins, but a cello, too) than just the single piano, a string quartet generally is associated with all string instruments--Usually two violins, a viola and a cello. We have a piano in this ensemble, so that's why we can't call it a string quartet. I understand the confusion, but I hope that helps. :)

  • uh :-) i am pianist, and i am pretty sure that the piano is classified as a stringed/percussion instrument :-)

  • I am also a pianist, and you have to agree that the piano is never considered JUST a string instrument. The piano is usually thought to be in it's own category, because it has that wierd string/percussion combination...It's just weird like that. ;D

Anywho, that's why I was saying that it was just wierd to call this ensemble a string ensemble--It's not wrong....Just wierd.

  • Gzarbe, in classical music, "piano quartet" means "violin + viola + cello + piano", that's all !

  • unveliable

  • Excellence.
