  • *sigh. my friends, yhwh or whatever the crap-adonai-jehova... were all made up... yhwh was the name of a volcano jews worshipped cuz moses the retard said so, and adonai was the sun. they later changed that name to jehova which was changed to yashua or some crap which was aramaic for jesus.

if it wasnt for retards like moses, we wouldnt argue about god and spaghetti monsters who were secretly invisible or something. try and make the best of the time you have cuz its all we have. im sorry

  • your statement is silly

  • To pray for knowledge on theology is just a way for you to justify your beliefs and look down upon those that haven't been given this special or "divine" revelation. What ever bigoted revelations that are magically imbued upon one cannot even come close to hardcore religious studies proper.

"I said it, God believes, that settles it!"

  • That is so last year and your commenting 11/2/09 on last year old knowledge, you know the kind that people study 2 learn, an 2 get 2 the TRUTH, So a few correction 2 YOU, First of all I didn't ask or pray 4 theology, second,(LOL) wait I'm not gone go there, I'm just gone count that one 2 ya brain cause ya late, and I ant got time 2 waist on entity that can't fade me, cause Im FREE, misery loves company and you gets none here, THE END.

  • Mysendge, I can't even comprehend what you are saying here. I don't care how old a comment is, if it's stupid I'm going to say so. I just happen to come across this video, and when I did and saw your mindless drivel and commented. Should I not be responding to you now, since this is two weeks old? замедлять.

You get NO truth from prayer. The only thing you get is a reassurance in the conclusions you've already drawn.

  • ENTITY misery loves company, you still stuck on dumb shit, I SAID THAT COMMENT WAS LAST YEAR PEOPLE GROW, SO ENTITY YOU HAVE NOTHING 2 SAY 2 ME. DON'T COMMENT ANY MORE, NOT WORTH MY CONVERSATION. SO DISAPPEAR

  • I'll comment all I want, thanks. Feel free to stop anytime you'd like. ;)

  • Do you know any good books about this kind of stuff. Such as Pagan Myths in the Bible. the things Robert is talking about here intrest me and I can't find any book.

  • I recommend the following: The Early History of God: Yahweh and the Other Deities in Ancient Israel by Mark S. Smith

Yahweh and the Gods of Canaan: An Historical Analysis of Two Contrasting Faiths by William Albright

Debate and Dialogue: Christian and Pagan Cultures, Church History by Jeremy Schott

  • I believe John Day has a few things on it as well.

  • There's an inscription to Isis, which loosely translates: "I Isis am all that ever was, is, or shall be..." This is certainly comparable to both spellings of Yahweh: "Is - Is" "I AM - I AM" (YHWH) and "I will be - I will be" (AHYH). The early pagan Yahweh has a very close linguistic relationship to the ancient Female Deity. I wish that you guys would do a show based on that.

  • Good book: Did God Have A Wife? Archaeology And Folk Religion In Ancient Israel by William G. Dever

  • yaweh's wife asherah

  • It was only after the Babylonian exile period (586 BCE) that the theology was revised so that Yahweh was the one and only god of all people, and the exile had a purpose (from God) in that the Israelites could spread this message to other nations.

They had to make this revision, for who would want to worship a god who is powerless to protect them against other nations and their gods?

  • I have to research this chapter myself, however I did take a class on Jewish thought in which we studied the Old Testament from the reform Jewish perspective. The rabbi plainly told us that the early Hebrews were henotheistic. They believed that other nations had their own gods while Yahweh was the god of the Hebrews.

  • Confirmed. SCOOP!

  • That has to be the stupidiest reading of deu 32 I have ever heard. How can anyone read: "There is no god besides me." that is in v. 39 to mean that there are other gods? Or the claim in v. 6 that God created you to mean there are others?

Deu 32: 6 Is this the way you repay the LORD, O foolish and unwise people? Is he not your Father, your Creator, who made you and formed you?

  • Whether "there is no god besides me" means "I am the only god there is" or "No other gods compare to me" can't be determined without a knowledge of the original Hebrew text. Even if it DOES mean the former, it could have been adjusted later, when the Hebrews embraced monotheism. Even if you have reason to disagree with Price, I don't see how you can call his learned, well-reasoned interpretation "stupid."

  • My wife was jealous when I lusted after Jessica Rabbit.
