@alexalex736 "why did you run for the stick? you got a dog for that" kid launches arrow not paying attention as the dog run out from behind half pipe... sad day
@13RuffRyder WO-AAT??? Lol, damn that's a nice looking backyard. I got fooled by the neighbor's playground set and what I thought was a park garbage bin.
I wish I had a place that big to test out dangerous contraptions...
1. I'm here because "scorpion" was mentioned multiple times in Clash of Kings (Game of thrones sequel) and figured that the Lannisters weren't planning on preventing the sack of King's Landing with tiny venomous arachnids
2. How rich must this kid be! The yard has to be huge to not only safely accommodate for the weapon's range, but to keep the neighbours from noticing and not calling the cops.
Nice scorpion. I'd just find another place to fire that if i were you, you dont want to kill anyone. Are you going to make another firing mechanism for it?
MATE, That ain't Roman, Thats CHinese, Romans had WAY more complex mechanizs so that they would have to sit on their asses and pull the arrow down. They minimized strength application with GEARS. XD
Great job on that. Thanks for a little description of how it works too. I'm making one for my class that is much smaller than yours, what type of rope would you suggest using for the springs? Also how much of it should I use?
The frame where the ropes are is only going to be about 8 inches high (as of right now) since I'm just designing it and have never made one before.
good to see a new ballista video!!! u should see mine!!! u should use woden arms instead of pvc, use a ratchet systen and a trigger!! also ur basic frame is to long and thin!!! mine can shoot 250 meters aka 800 ft. good job though ur on the right track

@HPwoody Hey thanx, the arms are actually wooden. I was looking into a trigger and a ratchet, but I couldn't find a shim block trigger or the metal modulouses to buy on the internet, I was trying to make it as historically correct as possible (the slide and all). I tried to make a shim trigger out of wood, but it was under to much tension and broke, If you know of any idea or way to create/get it please let me know.
Also if you know of a design for good wooden arms, what, and made of what size?
Dude u have the biggest yard I've ever seen ha ha and that thing is sick um check out my channel it's kinda gay but I'm gonna be doing different things sooo yea
I hope you are imprest trol

Pretty sweet dude, but I can't believe you fired this in a public park, that's just not safe. Did anyone call the cops on you?

wow. i'd come out with a bat if i was that house that you had it pointed at. then i'd burn your ballista.
use a bit of common sense, pick an appropriate place to use your weapon.
douchebags like you only create more laws against doing what people consider fun.
