@wneq As you say, hot tires stick better. In addition to that, they also carefully treat the racing surface with VHT, or some other kind of tract compound to enhance traction further. That's why big HP cars will almost never hook up on the street.

I can tell you in the middle of July after they've coated the track it feels like velcro when you walk on it.

This was the first car Hennessey did a turbo system on and they used turbo's too small for the V10 motor so it was chocked out on top end. As you can see in the bottom corner the vid is from March of 2001. These days, ART, UR and Heffner make turbo Vipers much much faster and better builds then what you see here, though for first car they did ok.

They say having less moving parts (cylinders in this case) is better, less possible faults, more simplicity. But I don't think so in this case, cause its more load per cylinder. a V10 with 800HP is only 80hp per cylinder, where a four banger would be 200HP per cylinder to match that.

There honestly isn't much out there that could fit this engine. Obviously a Skyline GTR with the powerband this has would be insane. A Gallardo is probably the best bet. MId Engine, All wheel drive, large enough engine bay, But it already comes with a very nice V10, so I would just twin turbo that and call it a day. It just wouldn't make sense at the end of the day to switch engines. Not for the cost.

ok...throw a supercharger on a viper....then the ZR1 will have no chance...its all back and forth..corvette has always been one step behind the viper. so now to get in the game they throw a supercharger on a corvette which is already borded out...viper has a lot more upgrade options then the corvette, which is why the viper is the best american muscle/supercar.

You're right. The 2 that I mentioned are both Heffner Vipers I think. There are a few major modifying companies out there for the Vipers; I think that Hennessey is just the most well known.
