The only funny part is that, unlike Free Running, Parkour is the art of movement in what is the most efficient route. There are so many flexible misinterpretations of what Parkour really is, yet no one truly knows anyway.

I'd say training, discipline and efficient use of routes is what Parkour is. Then there is the fun in what you can do, which (at the moment of flipping, spinning or what have you) becomes Free Running. They can flow hand in hand.
