  • Yes I was wrong, I listened to RRT Tear it up and it´s really different. Sleepy´s Tore Up from 1963 is a real rockabilly.Hank Ballard was the first (?) to record "The Twist", I had this LP.

  • Ya gotta love Sleepy..........

  • hello from jackson tn (were rockabilly hall of fame is)

  • I used to play Sleepy when I was on the radio here in NC. back in the early to mid 90's. I always liked his brand of Rockabilly!

  • Thomas "Sleepy" LaBeef was born in my hometown! Good ole' Smackover, AR! Love the roots and the rockabilly he brings to music!

  • @chefjoeman Yes, he was, and he got the nickname "Sleepy" at school because of his lazy eye. He's my uncle (I went to Norphlet, a football rival of Smackover).

  • SAW SLEEPY IN ROTHERHAM ..ENGLAND BACK IN LATE 70S....GREAT NIGHT

  • I never saw a harmonica playin drummer before

  • The human jukebox, what a great guy. I saw him at the Twist and Shout a few times in Bethesda, MD. Maybe because he is from Arkansas he was around DC a lot when Clinton was president. Anyway, once my wife and I were walking in and he was walking out between sets, we chatted him up and I asked him to play Waltz Across Texas for me and my bride. He played it. I don't know if it was coincidental but I like to think he did it for my wife and me.

I also like Jerry Garcia's versions of this tune.

  • It is originally Johnny and Dorsey Burnett´ tune "Tore Up"

  • @pukivuki45

I don't remember the Rock And Roll Trio doing this song. Hank Ballard wrote it and also recorded it.

  • @SubCinemaTV i think that guy was thinking of "tear it up" not "tore up"

  • @pukivuki45

They did "Tear it up", a different song.

  • @coy0te9

You´re right, thank for the correction. Anyway they are very similar songs. Do you know which country The Barnshakers are from?

  • Vastaa tähän videoon... You´re right, anyway they are very similar songs. Do you know what country The Barnshakers are from? ( I know )

  • @pukivuki45 No it isn't , it's Hank Ballard. You're confusing it with Tear It Up.

  • I thought there was a busted string too. I think its some sort of reflection of the drummer's sticks!

  • Pretty damn cool! This guy is good...

  • This rocks!!!

  • Sleepy is the best country, boogie woogie,. and rockabilly performer alive. Notice the broken guitar string.

  • I like Sleepy, too, but there isn't any broken guitar strings through the whole song. I put it on HD and paused up till the end and I count six strings. But it wouldn't suprise me, he has a heavy right hand technique, but he probably has .12 gauge set up on it. lol

  • yeah this is great..a nd im 23 lol........ i like a lotof 70s punk.. iggy and tha stooges.. this is like a root to there rock....

  • king without crown , that's what Sleepy is!

  • This is Great! I love it!
