Question to Sonic Fans: Reason the obvious absence?

um hey, since ive beaten the game, to explain the party resumes at the end of the game shadow and silver are there at the end. but they arent there because THEYRE BOSSES

Silver and shadow went to a dance club and got wasted the night before, Big is still trying to get to the party but hes walking late (because he is slow and can't run), and Omega forgot to recharge his batteries. SEGA conformed that those were the reasons. lol XD

big is there, just not there, silver is in the future and can't travel in time with another person who can use the chaos control and omega was sick, he waited 100 years to help shadow he should get commended but if they got to crisis city, sonic could meet silver and omega there and shadow is not very social anyway or he's on a GUN mission at the time.

Sonic heroes, shadow the hedgehog and 06 are pure shit! you can't compare 'em to SA series. I know they fucked up with chars in SA too, but I liked how the gameplay was! they're slower then Sonic? yes they are! but sonic are not only speed! it's plataforming!, Colors proved that! @Rafeku1 the PROBLEM is that there slower than sonic extra characters in s3&k were awesome because they were the same speed as sonic (somewhat slower) but with cool things like gliding and flying

It's fun, yes but it leads to the wrong, and long way sometimes. there was a guy playing Unleashed PS2/Wii Version in Chun-Nan and finish it with ranking S without boost! So if you just like Sonic as playable, the problem is yours, but this game needs the other chars playable at least Tails and Knux! All the chars appear and Thats why I don't like just HIM playable! hope understand

Just remember there IS a story behind all this, there are bound to be reasons for things like this. just wait till generations is released to start complaining about all this stuff. And you act as is silver and shadow will have no role whatsoever just because they're bosses, Robotnic is a boss in pretty much every game and he has a rather big role(captain obvious to the rescue).

This picture doesn't do much other than prove there's a picnic scene, oooooh, big whoop. I'm taking this with a trickle of salt until we see whatever happens. And besides, Silver and Shadow could easily be there. This could be a shot showing from Sonic's perspective the cake and food at the picnic table and Shadow and Silver could be standing beside him. No reason to get bent out of shape over one thing that doesn't do a whole for the entire game.

Wow. That was unexpected. I was more surprised by that fact that this looks like it was made in Garry's Mod. I don't think this is something to get worked up about though, there are some signs here that make me think this isn't from the tip top of Sega.

Signs such as: The low resolution (I've seen the original pic) Knuckles broken eye texture. Charmy and Cream's lack of eye posing. Espio's lack of a mouth and (look closely) very weird hand placement. The obviously recycled brawl and heroes (Espio only probably) Rouge staring off into space, and the list go's on and on.

This is probably a pet project or unfinished, something a new naive dev left in the recceses of Sega's severs. And really, how long has it been since the stories of Sonic games been continious? If I remember correctly it was SA->SA2->Heroes and that was it (really heroes shouldn't count since shadow was suppose to die in SA2. And what reason would sega have to focus on other character anyway? Nostalgia? No,

Sonic Generations was planned before development according to Iizuka and the intention of Colors was to focus on Sonic. What would extra playable characters add? They couldn't fit in the story without annoying rehashing, hence Shadow and Silver are back because they were the only main characters and a non-spinnoff game and to fit into a story where Sonic goes back in time they'd have to be bosses since when they first met that's what they were enemies /run-on.

looking at your first comment, i can easily see there is a huge chance you are right; miles and i noticed some of those ourselves too. and there is the fact that sonic retro didnt provide a source on this, so i dunno where it comes from. so yeah, this might be garry's mod or something

I think it's mostly just "bad place, bad time," if that makes any sense. Shadow's own spin-off game wasn't very well received, Silver's debut game was infamously panned, Big was attached with a debatable game mechanic, and Omega must not be well liked in general. The Chaotix probably get a free pass for being in an obscure game during the "classic" era. Might be just a case of wanting to celebrate only the "not sucky" aspects of Sonic's history...

Shadow is kind of a person who keeps to himself, I wouldn't expect him to appear. Silver should have came since he did kinda become Sonic's friend... but maybe he didn't know about his birthday. I never really thought about omega in that way... but he was left in Crisis City. And Charmy is just useless and shouldn't have been in the game at all.

those characters are missing because shadow is A BOSS in the game thatd be like bowser showing up for marios party i for one am very happy that shadows a bad guy again also this is just my opinion and lots of others opinion but silver is an ultra whiny character who was SUPER ANNOYING and hes lucky that he's even being in a mainstream game again. the reason sega hasnt aknowledged other characters recently is because sonic doesnt NEED many characters outside of tails, knuckles and robotnik.

also i explained that if shadow is not coming, rouge shouldnt come too. so your theory got disproven.
