  • Links are not working anymore. Any possibility to get the second track?

    Awesome stuff man!

  • Really good man, keep it up!!

  • ye the second tune is 100% perfect!!

  • very good! respect!

  • this is very professional

  • This is actually fucking amazing

  • AHHH, I want that second tune! WTF, it's so good. Reminds me of Theo Parrish or Moodyman or something.

  • @scientrophic Thanks :-) ; Thanks to my great memory and organisation skills I can't even remeber how I did this one or what disks everything is on, all I can remember is that I used the 4 track and used a Maxell tape lol The notes on there are for the first track...which are probs useless as I now use a different mixer

  • @vinyljunkie07 I feel like I should tell you that you're an inspiration, man. I've been putting off production for several years to finish school, start a career and all that bullshit. I've never had enough time, or money, but that's all just a cop out. You've been slugging it out collecting equipment for years and your shit just keeps getting better and better. Do you accept donations anywhere? A few bills stuffed in an envelope sent to your house LOL.

  • I'm salivating! This is delicious!

  • The shame of it is that you guys are paying the equivalent price in pounds that we pay for things in dollars over here. I could probably make good money visiting the UK with various bits of gear and selling them for less than the UK price(grey goods). Anyone want me to bring anything when I visit London in March? lol

  • What I want to know.is whether or not you are using some sort of compression? More specifically are you using any fancy compression device like a LA-2A, etc.? Thanks. You are very talented. cheers.

  • @IanCanefire Nothing fancy mate, just the standard single band compressor you get in Logic slapped on the whole mix and some very light EQ again with the standard tools you get with Logic, no third party plugins. Can't be arsed investing in that stuff, mastering studio will always have better ears and gear than me but I do this bit for my pleasure, if it ever goes that far I would give two copies..one where I have done something to it and one with no compression.

  • @IanCanefire Pheeeeewwww, an LA-2A?!! Vinyljunkie is definetly talented but I don't know many people (including peeps that own nice 'home' studios) that can spend their 'spare' money on a £2500 odd compressor! Its a great compressor but there are also v nice hard compressors out there for less! (Aswell as great soft compressor emulations like in waves plugins for much less!) Obviously to those 'analogue till i die' engineers they'll never do, but I think for the rest, they'll do just fine :)

  • @IanCanefire

One of the best things about VinylJunkies approach for me is his entire studio is lo budget yet he churns out way better music than I ever could proving its the musician and not the kit.

VJ with a LA2A ha ha. Mate that would be worth more than his entire studio put together. What your hearing is someone squeezing every drop out of every peice of kit. Compression has nothing to do with that.

  • BTW, how do you like tower block living? I've always liked the look of it.

  • @rhydermike Never liked it....especially some one who makes as much noise as me lol Getting stuck in the elevator was always the highlight of the day. Live in a standard bungalow now

  • nice kit.

    i am digging the simplicity,

and the tunes are ace also

  • Dreamy stuff this Martin...full of hope and goodness.

  • nice tracks as usual! cheers from bcn

  • nice tracks as usual! cheers from bcn

  • Well done!

  • I've been listening to deephouse music almost all my life and have have collected many deephouse records over the years. These tracks bring me back to those years. Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • top, martin! is this the house you live in?

  • @vincentfries Thanks Vincent, yep this is where I live. Turntables and vinyl are in my bedroom not this room.

  • great stuff man!

  • great...i like it...very nice tunes...go on...

  • nice1! dig it!

  • deep93 is real nice, love the tape sound throughout are your tracks recorded to tape from the mixing desk then the final mix is bounced onto the computer? the bass is that coming from your jx3p sounds really nice and organic. top stuff :)

  • @gowansy It went starlight to tape from my mixer then recorded into the computer as a stereo track. I then very slightly EQ'd the track as it had too much bass and then compressed it....a bit back to front in terms of compression as usually you compress before going to tape but hey ho. Tape was ran hot as hell lol

Deep 93 was not EQ'd but compressed

No fancy EQ plug ins or compression, just the standard shit that comes with Logic. JX bass on the first track, juno on the second.

  • awesome tune! diggin this stuff...

  • excellent ^^ i really like deep93 its real deep house shit !

  • @MrLittl3J Thanks, glad you like that one..can't go wrong with classic Juno bass :-)

  • this sounds awsome u gotta release this on a label or sumtin

  • @SileDevil Cheers mate, one day eh. Recognize any of the cars in the second pic? lol Bucharest in the early 90's, found it whilst going through a load of old photo's

  • @vinyljunkie07

lol yea i really wanted to tell ya something about the pic :) it reminds me of my loved country :)

  • @SileDevil I tell you one thing, I don't miss the city much but I do miss the countryside a lot! It was truly beautiful and untouched by commercialism or western culture. My grandparents had a small house at Teaca (Near Bistrita) where I spent a few summers

  • @vinyljunkie07

yep the country side is full of mountains and green hills :)

  • @SileDevil Yep and great woodland, may sound corny but most of my music is inspired by my childhood memories from there! Hence the dreamy textures most of the time

  • Faved! Smells like talent hehe... Luv especially the second tune, cuz of it's cool drums and liquid chords. And what a lovely studio setup!

  • this is so warm sounding luv it

  • @goongod Thanks, both tracks have been thrashed through the tape machine for extra crunch.

  • sweet groove ...excellent

  • check out all the cables behind the desk .. .fun fun haha

  • @poler303 yes sir thin software sound ..not fun lol

  • nice
