well everyone is theoretically a dancer. if you move, then you dance. however, there is a sector of dance training in this country that is not telling the full truth to students. the competition world is rife with so many kids who have great potential but have been so stylized and poorly trained. it takes four years of college to simply break some of them out of their habits. the reason why this is horrendous is that this girl is not being exposed to what the dance world is really about.
it is not movement, but feeling that makes a dancer.
even so, i'll have to take your word for it for now...
hopefully, i'll soon see what the dance world is really about in my collegiate studies next year.
it is upsetting, though, to know that one who has been illuminated to the truth, such as yourself, cannot appreciate what one such kaitlyn conley has accomplished without that full truth, whether the methods be orthodox or not.

the leg you do from 1:37 to 1:38 was in the solo that mark meismer did for me and i was like ah kaitlyn conley did this in her solo! and he was like omggggg dont even get me started on that solo ahah but he got to see it in person! Paris probably has no clue who Kaitlyn Conley is. I know I didn't until people started falsely claiming whatnot. Their dances both suit the song. It's like if you type in Toy Soldier by Britney Spears and "dance". The dances will most likely be alike because they suit the song. I know when I choreographed a dance to this song, my movements were alike to this as well. Did I copy Kaitlyn? I had no idea who she was.
well as you can see Kaitlyn has a huge fanbase and has for a long time. She is well known in the dance world and the chances of Paris having seen this on youtube is not as slim as you make it out to be.
First off the producers could care less if another person does a dance by someone else. It was AN AUDITION....and paris version was TOTALLY different albeit inspired by this im sure. and Kaitlyn is too young to be on SYTYCD.....she didnt try out......you have to be 18.

the clear point that you know paris copied is when itk starts the breakdown and paris does the exact same movement where she kind of shuffles forward in that quirky way.
100%correct. I would say the style is similar but the moves were so different. Kaitlyns has alot more stoccato movement and is also WAY harder technically. Paris's version was almost more lyrical in style with contemporary elements to me
I think that Paris was definitely tying to achieve Kaitlyn's "stoccato (staccato) movement," but ultimately failed. No one can perform this like Kaitlyn can and another thing is that Kaitlyn really performs this dance and you feel it, especially with the smile appearing and dropping. Paris' performance was fake. I didn't feel anything. I'm sure Paris could be amazing if she would dance from her heart.
Ok, maybe she didn't steal the whole choreography move by move but it's basically the same idea behind it. The broken down moves with the upper part of the body, the clothes and the quirky but sexy expression with her face. I definitely see the similarity!!

remember that not everything is battement tendus and pliés, as contrary to popular belief that may seem.

its called a ddrop.. it does hurt at first, but if you practice with a knee pad, it helps a lot.

the clear point that you know paris copied is when itk starts the breakdown and paris does the exact same movement where she kind of shuffles forward in that quirky way.

The essence of the movement was indeed the same. But to say the choreography was an absolute rip-off is a little farfetched.

100%correct. I would say the style is similar but the moves were so different. Kaitlyns has alot more stoccato movement and is also WAY harder technically. Paris's version was almost more lyrical in style with contemporary elements to me

I think that Paris was definitely tying to achieve Kaitlyn's "stoccato (staccato) movement," but ultimately failed. No one can perform this like Kaitlyn can and another thing is that Kaitlyn really performs this dance and you feel it, especially with the smile appearing and dropping. Paris' performance was fake. I didn't feel anything. I'm sure Paris could be amazing if she would dance from her heart.

Ok, maybe she didn't steal the whole choreography move by move but it's basically the same idea behind it. The broken down moves with the upper part of the body, the clothes and the quirky but sexy expression with her face. I definitely see the similarity!!

maybe since her costume was the exact same except crappier and if you can't see the way Paris's choreography was a lesser version of this you don't know dance

paris did not copy this....i cant see the the similarity at all...its only the same song...their style is different....What's with the accusing anyway...

this girl performs her solo much better than paris torres from the sytycd auditions. I wonder if paris was inspired by this solo. but I really love this solo!

I was so annoyed with that girl's audition. It was pretty clear that she took a lot from this, including the costume. I'm all about taking inspiration, but that was just too much, in my opinion.
