  • It lookd burnt wtf

  • Wow! I'm amazed at how great the parm fried chicken looks. It looks like regular fried chicken - better than the carbquik chicken in fact. I have both so I'll give both a try. Thanks!

  • @bowulf This was a great recipe as usual. I was wondering, have you ever tried making fried chicken with coconut flour or coconut flakes - both of which are low carb friendly? If you haven't, could you do a video on it to see how it would turn out?

  • @alphacause Sorry, I haven't played with coconut flour in that fashion yet, but one of the videos my daughter was going to make was coconut covered shrimp. I would be worried though since chicken takes a lot longer to cook the coconut might burn.

  • Thank you Bowulf! Induction-friendly (parmesan) fried chicken is frying now!

  • @ksb100pr I let people respond, but expect a response if you do decide to post. I'll also point out the idiocy of add simple starches and flour back into one's diet if one is attempting to control one's blood glucose level. Trying to cover 1 large breasts with 5g of white flour, which is ~2 tsp, would be near impossible. I'll also point out misstatements in nutrition info to ensure others don't make the same mistake.

Or am I not allowed to disagree with critics.

  • @ksb100pr You must have some unique all purpose flour as I have checked Bob's Red Mill and my own Great Value All Purpose Flour, and the GV Flour is 23g per 1/4 cup and Bob's Red Mill is 22g per 1/4 cup with negligible fiber. Why your flour is half the carbs of all other flours on the market and the USDA reported numbers I don't know. I am still guessing you aren't read your label correctly.

I'll repeat myself one more time for you that you might understand - "do what suits you best."

    Gre

  • "Cheap stuff or ingredients" = "Cheap taste", If it's worth cooking, it's worth cooking with quality ingredient

  • @ksb100pr Heck if I want to make high carb chicken and have unlimited carbs, I'd use corn starch. Either way for someone who only eats 20-40g net carbs per day, eating all of them as refined carbs as breading on my chicken is idiotic.

  • @ksb100pr I would suggest you recheck your numbers because 1 cup of white flour is:

    Total Carbohydrate 95.39g

    Dietary Fiber 3.4g

Replacing the Carbquik with white flour in my recipe would increase the net carbs by 86g, or taking your half cup example, it would still be 43 grams higher. Why would I ever want that needless glycemic impact on my blood glucose.

I have made it both ways, and there is no benefit IMO to using white flour and its refined carbs, discouraged on all low carb diets.

  • totally amazing! i love these videos, the ingredients are easily found in even my local supermarkets and you show us exactly how to make the dishes. it's inspiring and very very helpful to this newby to the atkins lifestyle. thank you so much for sharing with us!

  • @TheSandyk11 That's my major goal with my recipes to make low carb eating as easy and as low a barrier for people to start as possible. There should be little excuse for people to fall into a rut or only eat deli meat / cheese everyday. Thanks for watching!

  • I used this method on cube steak and made chicken fried steak. Wow! It was amazing! I coated the steak in parmesan, dipped in egg mixture (eggs, pepper), once more into the parmesan, then fried for a few minutes on each side. It turned out fantastic. It was actually better than when I used to use flour. I gave my brother a piece, didn't tell him it was low-carb. He asked me what I did differently....he said it was better than he had ever made it. Thanks for the tip!!

  • @ksb100pr To each their own... The Carbquik doesn't burn in my fryer, but do what suits you best. 10g per piece of needless carbs (especially refined ones) is more than I would want -- especially since no one eats 1/8th of a chicken (a single piece). Best of luck!

  • Thanks for a good recipe. I use soy flour and eggs and spices normally. I do like the parmesan cheese, also. Soy flour has only 4g net carbs in 1/4 cup. Enjoy your videos, keep up the good work!!

  • @nbkcq28 When I have used Soy flour in the past, it usually burnt before the breasts were done cooking, so that was why I switched to Parmesan in the first place. It is definitely acceptable though, and maybe my oil was just a bit dark at the time.

  • wow i never thought of doing it with parmessian cheese, Im gonna go make chicken nuggets now haha thanks! Great vid!

  • @onlinecashflowmaker It works really well for that too. That is essentially how I made low carb Orange Chicken chicken pieces. Yum!

  • Oh, I see. So you can fry chicken with just Parmesan cheese on it? How does that taste? I'm thinking the pork rinds give it a more fried chicken taste. Oh, and I want to tell you how happy I am that you make these videos. I am starting Atkins today and I am so excited to know there is more to Atkins than just meat and cheese! Thanks for opening up my eyes to all of the possibilities! :D

  • @kentralmakes3 Yes, in fact that is how I normally cook my fried chicken with just Parmesan cheese. I season it with some salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder, but it tastes great. Best of luck, and honestly the variation in Atkins was what keeps me successful even today. I am glad I could help.

  • Can you do this with just the pamesean cheese and the crushed pork rinds? Or do you need to have the carbquick breading?

  • @kentralmakes3 Those are three different types of breading. You can use any one of them by themselves too.

  • The funny thing about this Atkinson guy is that he fucking died fat as a pig.

People: DO NOT FOLLOW THIS DIET. It is dangerous and will cause you harm. This diet is actually making your body ill and weak.

Talk to any doctor about this subject. They will, for sure, tell you that it is very dangerous.

Atkinson's diet has killed a lot of people. Don't be an idiot and increase the death count.

  • @vitormangraviti What the heck is Atkinson? If you are talking about Robert Atkins, he died from slipping on ice, and his body shut down from the brain damage.

I find it funny that you say talk to any doctor as that is just what I did. My doctor and many others recommend the ATKINS Diet. In fact in 7 years of being on the diet, I have had glowing physicals, blood analysis, and eliminated all heart risk factors I had. My own doctor uses me and my 211 pound weight loss as examples for others.

  • @bowulf ...so funny when people hate on things they know nothing about.

  • @bmirish33 Yeah, when you don't even know the name of the diet, I am not sure your opinion even matters.

  • @vitormangraviti Google is your friend, wretched readers. He slipped on ice. Many people get bloated as they die. The sad doctor's last few days were not pretty. Death is not your friend.

  • @NikFromNYC Did I say he died from being fat, you asshole?

What I did say is that he died FAT. You need to get a few reading lessons.

  • @vitormangraviti OK great. Not only are you ignorant of that which you speak, you are generally distasteful too. Welcome to my block file.

PS - way to ignore or obfuscate the truth.

  • That looks awesome. Thanks for posting.

  • @arrozconzapatos You are welcome.

  • Another person asked but not answered, I'm interested also, what oil do you use for the fryer? Thanks In advance

  • @netmad80 I prefer peanut and coconut oil, but will typically use corn oil instead -- primarily for cost reasons.

  • you talk too much to your self

  • @HamadHHAG Just proves the old saying, you can't please everyone...

  • @HamadHHAG He's not talking to himself. He's talking to you the viewer. Maybe you should find something else to do, other than watch videos, if you can't follow the program.

  • @bluejeaninvestor yeah this one very hungry!

  • Saturated fat is not healthy, but it sure tastes good.

  • @jewie27 On a diet that features saturated fats, my cholesterol has dropped 50 points to 150 while my HDL (good cholesterol) went up.

  • Only one thing bothers me here, using deep fat fryers. The oil is often heated to high temperature and often same oil is heated then cooled a number of times. With this going on , does the oil not become HYDROGENATED ,and so very bad for you?

PS I love your posts you are an insperation!

  • @serenagel If you are heating the oil past its smoke temp, then the oil can break down and become bad for you. This is the reason to purchase oil with a high smoke temp. The oil I use has smoke temp in between 450-500F degrees. The fryer I use has a max temp of 375 degrees and monitors the oil temp.

I also check for the oil becoming rancid when used. It is pretty easy to tell rancid oil as the smell becomes a key indicator and premature smoking.

  • This us a great video. Thanks for making it! Keep it up!

  • @ediethesalsafreak Thanks for the kind words. Happy New Year!

  • And I never said that I have mucus-phobia, I am trying to say that mucus is caused by the result of toxic waste in the body and can be found in your throat, be eyecrust, ears, don't want to go on. Detoxification is caused in the result of dietary changes and substantial weight loss, which you have experienced, so congrats! Toxic waste is mostly stored in fat, and when calories are restricted, the toxicity is released, no matter what the diet is.

  • @zpaco18 "A diet that gives you colds, makes you sneeze, cough, have mucus, " It would seem you are doing your utmost to avoid mucus. I am saying there is no scientific link of a ketogenic low carb diet to increased mucus in one's life. If you have a scientific study suggesting it, I'm open to listening to it. However absent of scientific evidence or supporting anecdotal evidence, it is just baseless bias. My own experience is no problem with mucus and eliminated being ill.

  • @zpaco18 i agaree with u, bewulf dont know what hes talking about

only idiots goes on akins, and his fried chicken is burnt

/i detox and juice fast, and

  • @atomrocketcar I'll give you a hint that might help with your life and long term ability to be a "highly effective" person. Learn to spell and use grammar correctly if you are going to criticize and call other people idiots.

    PS - it's Atkins.

  • @bowulf Which oil do you use for deep-frying?

  • @brennan8522 I prefer peanut oil, but will typically use corn oil instead.

  • @atomrocketcar If you're not capable of providing an appropriate educated response, much less one lacking grammar on an embarrassing level @ best, don't both commenting @ all. Do us ALL a favor.

  • If you need to know the effects of higher protein intake, please refer to "The China Study". Lettuce for example, contains 12% protein per 100 calories. Porthouse Steak contains 13% calories per every 100 calories. Which one causes more health problems now? I could go on and on about the amino acids that are essential and how they are composed in plant foods, but you really need to read more statistical information, such as books like "the 80/10/10 diet" and the China Study found in your library

  • @zpaco18 You mean the same China study that demonstrated that increased drinking and smoking cigarettes decreased one's health risks? The same one that demonstrated wheat had much greater risk associated with health problems than meat? The same China study that was utterly refuted last year due to its bunk science by Dr. Eades and Denise Minger.

Sorry mentioning the China Study is like mentioning Hitler, once you've resorted to that poor epidemiological study, you've lost.

  • Oh, and sorry for the rude remark I gave earlier... I was just overwhelmed how people could even eat like this so I was very appalled. Great apologies. Weight loss is a good thing. But honestly said, it is not all what health is. A diet that gives you colds, makes you sneeze, cough, have mucus, has obviously something wrong in my honest knowledge. The man who has been eating this way for 27 years, Dr. Doug Graham, is a great example of a person who acheived great health.

  • @zpaco18 However, let's evaluate both diets -- ketogenic diet like Atkins and a fruitarian diet. Which one is more easily able to obtain the RDA requirement for vitamins, minerals, and essential macronutrients (like amino acids and fatty acids)? It is much easier in a ketogenic diet to obtain those daily recommended amounts without supplementation than a raw vegan diet and especially 90% fruit based diet.

As for your mucus-phobia, I have no problems with it - perhaps you need more research.

  • @bowulf Fruits contain EVERY single essential nutrient the body needs. Yes, even protein, fatty acids, and alkaline minerals such as calcium, pottasium. The chemical composition of fruits contain 90% carbohydrates, 5% fat, 5% protein on average. When eaten with vegetables in raw state, the macronutrient ratio becomes at least 80% carbs, max 10% fat, and max 10% protein. RDA requirements for protein are approximatly 8%, to make sure at least we are getting enough.

  • @zpaco18 Eating solely blueberries (which is valid according to your fried chicken comment), you'd have to 23 cups of blueberries to equal 2000 Calorie diet. You would get 23g of protein and 0g Fat in that 2000 Calories. The RDA for a man is 17-21% (USDA), and Institutes of Medicine recommends between 10 to 35% Daily Intake.

My body works much better on the following ratios - 60% Fat, 30% Protein, 10% Carbs. This has been verified with 6 years of excellent health and blood work.

  • Before making a biased opinion on the nutritional content of fruits and vegetables, I recommend you at least take a look at their vids... Depriving yourself of glycogen, the human prefered energy source, I would say is malnutrition. I just can't seem to notice the vitamin consistency in a diet that would suggest "fried chicken". And before making a educated guess of what low fat raw veganism is, I would suggest you do some research, if you care about your health.

  • @zpaco18 How very condescending of you to think those who disagree with you have no idea what you are talking about. Otherwise, I would simply assume this is the only video you have watched me and have no clue what the Atkins Diet really involves.

As for depriving one of glycogen, there are no essential carbohydrates as opposed to essential amino acids and fatty acids. The body is capable of producing the energy it needs from any source and can even synthesize the glucose it needs from protein.

  • @zpaco18 "vitamin consistency" really? I am sorry, but you that is another logical fallacy.

If you assume all one eats by the subject on one video or one food, I would could point out numerous examples of zinc deficiencies, iron deficiencies, calcium deficiencies simply by picking a specific fruit (say blueberries) and assuming an entire diet based upon that.

  • Hey, you don't look so fit compared to the 80/10/10 athletes I know, like "thefruitarian" and "durianriders" on youtube.

  • @zpaco18 Great... Have them be 429 pounds first, have all the knee and joint difficulties associated with being that heavy, lose the weight, and run 4 hour marathons, be able to bench their body weigh multiple times, and I might feel inadequate in comparison to them. In the mean time, my excess skin is what it is, and at least my diet has been scientifically reviewed and found excellent as opposed to the lack of anything fruitarian in scientific literature.

  • @zpaco18 That is except for crazy parents who put their kids and nearly kill them on fruitarian diets.

  • You probably knew this: Many assume that deep-fried food is greasy. I was one. Then I learned that, while greasiness can result if the oil isn't hot enough, deep frying is a dry-heat method of cooking. At sufficiently high temps, the oil acts as a barrier, sealing juices & heat into the food. When the oil's not hot enough, it seeps into the coating and the food itself, and the food's greasy. It was when I realized the deep fried food, properly cooked, is fine, that I bought a fryer. Love it!

  • @Vittoria10538 Yep that is the one thing people forget or have never taught to them. Ensuring your oil is hot enough ensures the food seals in all the water as it creates a mini-bubble of steam around it. I know I spent years being clueless or cooking wrong before finally getting the right tools and watching America's Test Kitchen. :-)

  • @bowulf I'm glad I watched this video a couple months ago because that's what convinced me to buy the fryer! By the way, don't bother arguing with Atkins-bashers. You take time to share recipes & the science; they waste time picking fights & grinding ideological axes. My workup impressed my doc, too. After she shared the great numbers with me, I said, "You know, I follow Atkins." She paused, then said, "With numbers like THESE?" Our good health speaks volumes for Atkins, no argument necessary.

  • You obviously dont care about health....and obviously know nothing about how the body works.....WOW.

  • @yahosna40x You obviously have not kept in touch with the latest research or my 6 years of fantastic health since starting this diet. When exactly should my health slip into the cataclysm? I ask because at this point my health and athletic performance (weight lifted or sprint or full marathon race times) have only gotten better since starting this lifestyle.

  • @yahosna40x Ok keep believing that.....My research isnt just magazine articles and random websites......once again...you have no idea how the body works......so tell me, what does all that extra protein do you for you smart guy? lol.

  • @yahosna40x Apparently all that research doesn't in fact give you any insight into what the diet actually is. This isn't a high protein diet. Plus keep the attitude yourself, it doesn't do wonders for getting your point across. If you want to be an adult, act like one.

  • is it possible to make the fried chicken less greasy??

  • @NebunLaCap Cook it in grease that is hotter (350-375), and don't let it cool down as much (so cook less at a time)...

  • I wish we could get carbalose flour in New Zealand. Bugger it, i want it soo bad.

  • can you tell me where I can find that flour that you used???

  • @honeyblonde40 Amazon or Netrition are the best sources.

  • To make it induction friendly used crushed pork rinds instead of low carb flours. It tastes phenomenal!

  • @Rookie35m I agree, and I actually refer to that in the video description of this video. I like using the hot and spicy ones, and it's a good use for stale rinds..

  • Atkins is amazing

  • Hi! -

    Congrats...

I have to tell you - I began my atkins journey approx. 3 weeks ago and your videos are so inspiring and motivational!!!! We had the (incredible) eggplant the past couple of days. Can't wait to try all of your easy, yummy recipes... The videos are so much easier for me than a cookbook.

I'm so proud of your weight loss and willingness to help others. I have so much more energy now and NO cravings!!! Yippeee!

  • what kind of oil did you use for the deep fryer..for induction..and congrats!

  • @mamasuify corn oil or peanut oil -- the key point is you want an oil with little flavor and a high smoke temp

  • I season my chicken thoroughly, leave to marinate overnight, then I just fry my chicken without any coating at all. My husband loves it! It browns nicely and is really juicy ... no carbs!

  • that looks burnt

  • I've heard in a lot of places that carbs are good for you. As long as you get the right kind. like whole grains and what not. So why would people follow a diet were they are severely limited? it doesnt make sense. Your body needs carbs. Seeing as how they are our main energy source.

  • @gokuangus Most of those things are myths. Carbohydrates are the secondary energy source in most people of ancient times. Few cultures lived mostly off of carbs, and it was usually all fruit. The main energy source of most ancient people was fat. Most people are programmed to consume fat. This is why diabetes is so common now. Grains are unnaturally consumed, and any digestible carbohydrate has an insulin response, which is the fat storing hormone. Thats right, calories are meaningless.

  • @gokuangus And fiber is the only indigestible carbohydrate, otherwise it all is converted to sugar. If the FDA is right then our diet should consist mostly of sugar, which is PLAIN WRONG imo.

  • @gokuangus Just to reiterate what was said before, just because you hear it often does not make it true.

The body requires energy, and that energy can be made from fat, protein, or carbs. The only ones from that list that are essential (body can't make) are fats and proteins. The body runs fine on energy derived from fats and protein as I have shown in running multiple marathons, biking long distances, and an active lifestyle.

BTW - it is the amount and type of carbs which is bad.

  • @gokuangus because they are trying to lose weight. Not stay on this forever.

  • @Carolearad I personally plan on staying on this way of eating forever. Unlearning all those lessons about the dangers of refined carbs and they being unnecessary for health would only lead me to my former weight.

  • love the video, I lost 80 pounds on the Atkins diet and loved every minite of it, it didn't feel like I was on a diet, BUT I got lazy and often ate on the run and gained it back. Your video inspired me to eat this way again, it really does make sense on so many levels. One question though, I really enjoy pasta and love shirataki noodle from the root of the konjac plant but don't know why they aren'y on induction, I could love on them with parm cheese, they are all fiber, so why not?

  • @levi7191 The short answer is because they aren't on the acceptable foods list, and Induction is more than just eat less than 20g per day. Dr. A. perceptually wanted to set a list of generally accepted (low sensitivity) foods to ensure everyone was successful, so other low carb items like almonds 1-2g per serving were left off.

Remember the Induction only needs to last 14 days, and then you can add foods back in rungs. If you are still successful after adding them back, you are good to go.

  • @bowulf thankyou, that makes a lot of sense,"induction isn't JUST about eating 20 grams a day!! simply put, well said. He had good reasons that were well thought through for exactly what he chose to include in the induction stage, thanks a lot

  • This is a very interesting way to do chicken, and I will try it. I'm starting the low carbs diet and I can apreciate you videos.

  • @connie7t That's one of the fun things about the low carb lifestyle - rethinking old favorites and perhaps rediscovering them better than before.

  • I think I am in love with you! And I mean that in a totally Fried Chicken kind of way! I LOVE FRIED CHICKEN and thought that was something I was going to give up for the rest of my life (I am diabetic, Atkins is not a diet for me, but a life long eating plan) THANK YOU FOR THIS RECIPE!

  • @AmyCelticProductions I am very glad you like the recipe. I know getting fried chicken back into my diet after years of deprivation and believing it was bad for me made me happy.

  • This video is FANTASTIC. I recently fried chicken with no flour because we were out and I may not go back flour coated chicken. It was SO good. Your way looks good to and I am gonna try it soon. Keep up the good work. I have started ATKINS 2 days ago and am doing a video diary on Youtube. I like that the foods can be interesting instead of eating the same meals all the time.

  • @mojoesbean I hear you. Going Low Carb forces you to re-evaluate some old recipes and they may turn out even better than before. I know pre-Atkins I rarely ever made fried chicken (perceived unhealthy and commercial ones were "good enough"). Now I know what fried chicken should really taste like. I hope you try some of my other recipes, and good luck!

If you are seeing Induction flu symptoms, just know they are temporary.

  • Deep fried chicken lots unhealthy with that cheese your adding then all that oil its not really diety at all? perhaps just the chicken breast grilled with herbs? i just dont see how this can help you lose weight?

  • @alexhere14 Let's see I ate this exact meal usually once a week or more, and LOST 211 pounds. What's unhealthy the fat? the cheese? Why? because my cholesterol might go up? My cholesterol, triglycerides, and arterial plaque all decreased dramatically. Sure I could eat roasted chicken or turkey, and it may be tasty. It however is not any healthier.

What exactly isn't diety about a food that enabled me to lose weight, increase my performance/energy, and eliminate all health risk factors?

  • @alexhere14 You're out of date. Low carb is proven to be the most effective diet there is. Low carb effectively means high fat. It's something you have to come to terms with that fat isn't bad for you and carbs are.

  • @MysteryUnexplained KFC Grilled Chicken is loaded with MSG, which isn't the best for you, and has modified food starch, but in terms of its carbs, it is reasonably ok. I wouldn't have it during Induction, but afterwords as an occasional treat, you can.

  • Every time I try this in my deep fryer, most of the coating comes off because it sticks to the basket. What am I doing wrong?

  • @thespiswolf A little coating will come off. You can't help that, but you can do a couple things to help the situation. Pat the chicken and the breading to ensure it is on firmly, and the other thing is after breading put the chicken in the fridge or freezer for 5-20 minutes (shorter times in the freezer). That'll help the coating stick to the chicken even more, and then lay the chicken gently into the oil with tongs as opposed to dropping it.

  • Nothing in life comes easy.

  • @campbpar Nor is it a short term change, which is why Atkins is ideal for getting healthy and losing weight.

  • @bowulf Eat up.

  • @campbpar Did just that a few days ago -- best fried chicken breast in a long time...

  • Why does it make me not want to eat chicken every again?

  • @7spear Not sure... broken taste buds?

  • @bowulf

I meant the cover of this video. Chickens aren't suppose to be THAT brown/dark.

  • @7spear It all depends one the seasoning, but you did get what you paid for the video. If that prevents you from eating the chicken every again, it'll just lower the demand and thereby the cost for me.

  • @7spear ever*

  • Everyone I have EVER known who have done these stuff your face with dead animal diets look like hell! Yes you can lose weight but these diets are for people who want a diet where they don't have to think or use common sense. Processed meat and similar foods are not going to make you healthy. Go back to nature, exercise, and for the love of God use your brains! Water, raw fruits, veggies, and exercise---don't limit yourself on any of these.

  • @FORCEDANARCHY Wow way to start with a non sequitur. Actually it makes complete sense, and people have been eating this way since time in memorial. There can't anything more natural than actually eating meat as people were HUNTER gatherers first not farmers.

As for being healthy and looking good, I can only let my doctor, 6 years of great annual physicals, wife, and race results speak for me. They brag more about my state of health and beauty better than I could.

  • @bowulf Going to the supermarket and buying dead animals that were caged and fattened with God knows what is really in the spirit of those original hunters that you claim to be following.

  • @FORCEDANARCHY You have no idea what my shopping or hunting habits are. So go run along and find a self-grown berry to eat... I will happily eat my local butcher's steaks and as the time comes harvesting game as well. My, my what angst the meat deprived have...

  • Good job and keep going!

  • looks good man i am going to try that 2nite ty

  • i want to cook chicken currys but i have to add coconut milk? can i add coconut milk, as its mostly fat so its good?

  • Depends on the phase of the diet...

    On Induction, no.

On OWL phase past run 3 (nuts and seeds), yes...

  • I lost 52 pounds in less than 9 months. I love low carb. I eat shrimp and carb when I want, lots of cheese, bacon, duck, beef, fish, almonds, pecans, creole cream cheese and eggs. My diet doe not makes me depressed. Being fat made me depressed...........Pass a pork rind this way.........Thanks for the great dish............

  • Isn't it just magical when you find out what works for you and meets your tastes. I simply never felt like I was depriving myself of anything when I could eat something as good as real fried chicken WITH THE SKIN. I just had a plate of wings, and now I am ready to rock a 2nd workout today...

  • Hardly...

  • After 6 years of living this way of eating, my holistic being could not be better. My energy is through the roof, my fitness levels are way up (marathon training and weight lifting), and mentally - I have achieved and developed the certification for a number of IT exams. As for my health, my doctor could not be more pleased with the last 6 years of annual physicals and blood work.

For the environment, well you can take those arguments elsewhere. I buy my vegetables and meat locally.

  • YUM!!! I am making this soon!!!!

  • 200grams of protein is a lot, but given a highly active person, one might need a lot of protein. Check out my high protein vs. high video for some general recommendations on how much protein to eat. I am roughly between 125-175g daily, but that's just me.

The problem with excess protein intake is that it is converted to glucose as well which can then cause the insulin response. The short answer is active ppl should have between 1.2-1.8g per kg of body weight.

  • Can i eat tomatoes soup if i just take out the potatoes out?

  • If all the ingredients are on the acceptable foods list, yes. If there are ingredients that are not on the list, then no -- remember one cup of tomato (other vegetable) per day, and count your carbs..

  • Can i eat Ritz crackers, on induction week? even if its only 3/4 crackers?

  • No. If it is not on the acceptable foods list, then it is forbidden.

  • hey man thanks for this recipe

  • Comment removed

  • how often can i eat this fried chicken while on induction and is vegetable,or canola oil bad to use?

  • Using Parmesan cheese or pork rinds coating, it can be an every day thing. It is totally up to you.

I am not a big fan of canola oil as it used to be industrial oil before they discovered it was low in unsaturated fats. Vegetable (soy), corn, or peanut are fine to fry in.

  • There is a chinese condiment I LOVE! Its called Siracha and it has only 1 gram of carb. BUt under the list of ingredients it says it has sugar. Do I need to read the list of ingredients or could I just read the label?

  • You have to read the ingredients. After Induction however, you can add it back into your diet during the OWL phase, and see how it affects your weight loss.

  • HEy you might of seen a couple of the same comments I didnt know if it went through. I can't seem to find the ketonis strips do you have any suggestions?

  • I find my ketone strips at Wal-mart and Walgreen's near the pharmacist section.

  • can I use heinz ketchup?

  • No to regular ketchup, but yes to Heinz one carb ketchup.

  • HEy I am in the induction phase can I eat heinz ketchup?

  • What oil do you use, can you use any oil for low carb???

  • Sorry for the lateness of the reply, I use corn, coconut, and olive oil primarily, but prefer peanut oil for frying. It's just expensive and not always within the budget.

  • @bowulf Cheers, i`m going out and getting a fryer this weekend, been on atkins for a week and a half now and i`ve lost 14pounds already!

  • Congrats! That is an awesome first week to be proud of. Keep up the great work!

  • @bowulf Thanks, keep watching your vids for inspiration and support, keep up the good work mate!

  • I fixed the fried chicken for my family tonight, and they loved it! I did too. I have been on Induction for a month and have lost 25 pounds, will I continue to loose at this rate if I stay on Induction for 6 months? I have almost 90 more pounds to go.

  • I am excited to try this recipe for chicken!!

  • If I can be on a diet and still eat delicious crispy fried chicken and Buffalo wings and still lose weight, I found the right one for me. Either way you make it, it is a great way to eat juicy, not-dried out chicken.

  • I am glad to hear it doesn't dry out, alot of the chicken I have baked so far has ended up that way. In order to keep my hubby on this way of eating I need great recipes like the one's you have on here!!

  • Stay tuned, there is another favorite recipe being posted tonight or tomorrow.

  • Bowulf, you are the man! I am from a similar background. I was in the Army Reserve for 9 years. I did a tour in Iraq from '03 to '04. After that my enlistment was up, I started a family, and proceded to pack on about 70 lbs. Ouch! I was in great shape before, and plan to be in the future. I am about a week into induction, and have a little ind. flu, but not too bad. I will keep you updated on my progress. It's nice to have someone like you who will answer questions. Thanks, Bradock

  • Hey you are through what most consider the worst part. Now it is just proving you can do it over awhile. If you have any questions just let me know.

  • Okay, I'm confused...so you can only use the Carbalose flour after you are thru with induction??

  • Correct. Induction is more than just less than 20g per day. It is eating only from things Induction Acceptable Foods List.

  • You are my new best friend! I am so happy you are sharing your recipes with us! I have struggled for years being "healthy" and did nothing but gain weight! I now understand the truth abut nutrition thanks to folk like Atkins..now I can enjoy my fried chicken. Thanks!

  • I tell you I was in heaven when I figured out I could actually make fried chicken and lose weight too. It is such a great way to eat chicken, and not be forced to eat dry lifeless chicken day after day. I am very happy to have another new best friend. :-)

  • what was the name of the type of low carb flour that you used?

  • Carbalose flour... (It's made by Tova Industries) I however use Carbquik which is made out of Carbalose flour, baking soda, etc.

  • Where can I buy it??

  • Amazon or Netrition is where I typically buy mine.

  • Do you have any suggestions for people who genuinely dislike veggies?

  • Give it time... Keep trying new combinations. I was once like you, and try them in new combinations or with new tastes. Think FauxTatoes, or Faux Fried Rice, or putting them in quiche. The longer you spend on the diet the more your taste buds will change and the better they will taste.

  • This is better than TV! Good stuff you are sharing, Thanks!

  • You are very welcome, and glad you like the videos!

  • I gotta say, it's nice you're doing low carb and have lost weight, but I think too much of the fat intake in your recipes come from bad fat sources. IMO a good portion of fat intake should come from healthier sources such as extra virgin olive oil, avocados, nuts etc... A lot of your recipes (like this one) seem to overdo the saturated fat.
