  • It was so fun to be in the snare line this year...we did nothing but sh@t on all the other drum lines around......thank you Nick and Bill Dees......

  • Vallejo was way better than hogan.

  • wow that;s my school :) but i'm year 2009 lol things changed our band and stuff sucks now we don't got a marching band and every sport our team suxs

  • Wow! What a trip down memory lane! Wasn't there but always nice to see the class of 92! Go Spartans! Lol! Alysia McClure

  • does anyone else remember our trip to the Rose Bowl back in 1991? Of course, we did go as a joint effort with Vallejo High dressed as VHS. All i remember is cramping up with that damn bass drum about 8 miles in...

  • how shitty that they couldnt allow both hogan and vallejo bands, albeit mid-sized as they are, represent themselves at the rose bowl. always including giant bands i guess.

  • damn I can't believe i'm seeing this...big time walk down memory lane for me...i was in the drumline from '91-'93 (vinceman)...man we looked and sounded good back then!

  • holy crap u guys used to rival vallejo! the age of Hogan officially ended 3 yrs. ago with justin parsons' departure as director. the drumline kicked all kinds of ass and even went wgi, the tiny hogan guard was 1st place at most comps, and the band was really revived for 5 brief yrs. now with the very existence of hogan as a high school being questioned, im afraid we've all seen the last of the music program there. maybe when its a jr. high again someone will revive the band program?

  • i wish my school had a colorgaurd =[

  • This video brought back memories..I was in the drumline of Hogan back in 93-95. Great to know videos like this still poping up. Thanks for posting. Randy (dukeman)

  • i had no idea ken smith was at hogan during this time. that man has certainly done so much for the various vallejo schools. him and chestnut are vallejo city gems indeed!

  • Drill team was off the hook!! I think we placed 1st or 2nd at this review!! Pretty dang AWESOME!!!

  • they were badass, love the fanfare intro especially. too bad hogans good as dead these days, at least it appears to have had its glory days. who was band director at this time?

  • Ken Smith, currently at Bethel, was Hogan's director in '92. It was a good year for the band, indoors and out, and percussion was nearly undefeated. Go figure a number of guys in this drum line went on to instruct at a bunch of local schools and elsewhere. At least two of us, Dan Rey and myself, are still at it. (Speaking of Dan, you can't miss him keeping up the rear of the block!)

  • oh wow! cool ive followed Dan's work with HDL, they had such a good run 03-06. Slipstream, Stolen, all their winter shows were awesome. i cant say im impressed with them now, their parade performances this last year have been...sad. but i guess since parsons left its to be expected. i just hope our dear hogan can someday have the full guard/band/drumline program and a return to glory days.

so dan's somewhere in this vid? i doubt ill recognize him XD

  • Wow this brings back major memories. This was my Sr year, final review. We had a huge BBQ in the park after the comp, had a great time. A few water fights also.... We were small but good, very technical. If anybody else is out there from the 92 year I would love to hear from you.... Joe Malato

  • :(((((((((((((((

  • this makes me all sad and angry and stuff.

  • Geez really makes me sad, 15 years later and I'm a senior now at Hogan in the band. The only upside is we got new uniforms last year. Hmm if you notice their uniforms they have plums and shoulder cords... we didn't have enough of those to use them anymore my fresh/soph years haha. Oh yea, and theres no more colorguard at Hogan anymore since last year. There was only 1 person left and your required to have 5 people in order to not be disqualified so...yea.

  • oh thx for sharing! I graduated from hogan back in 05; i was in band n drumline during my stay. i figured the new uniforms were the only plus to the current band. after 03, our colorguard numbers (back then a healthy 10 or so for parade) have never revived; in a message tell me all about the band/director/future that you can, k? I worry for dear Hogan.

  • If you have any more videos of Hogan during 90-92, that would be great. Thanks for posting this. It has brought back alot of good memories!

  • man do they look good.

tell me, though i know this was a long time ago, do you recall how competitive hogan was back then? i mean, did hogan place well at competitions? lol '92 is so throwback to me

  • back in that day, hogan was pretty strong. that year in particular, we placed 1st in our division for all competitions we competed in. even almost got showmanship sweepstakes at one band review.

  • awesome. thanks for sharing. What a knack for showmanship the Spartans used to have...

  • OMG OLD SCHOOL HOGAN WOOOH!

classic tuxedos in the ID unit lmao
