I used to work for the US Army doing safety and security inspections on those vehicles; just because you see them on a train doesn't mean anything, they could be just being moved. A lot of the ones I inspected were coming right off ships straight back from Iraq. They have to move them sometimes just to save money, because they have to pay to store them in most places.

Over half the budget goes to mandatory spending, such as Social Security, Medicare, and the like. The only way to cut the debt is to reform entitlements, period.

$10.5 t public debt

$4.75 t intragovernmental debt, owned by and owned to the government

$1.13 t owned by China

$1.04 t owned by Japan

We are just an indebted to China as we are Japan.

From 11/1/10 to 11/1/11, we incurred over $1.14 t in new public debt. Only $340 billion of that was bought by foreigners and China reduced their holdings during this time
