Great viseo. Question :at 1:28 it looks like you play E major instead of minor when it goes back to the verse. Is that just a miscue or did John play an E there.
Great playing on what I consider do be The Beatles best CD. Revolver is a great piece of work. I don't think this song was originally on the album? Anyway, I love this song and the whole album! Mt favorite is Lennon's last song on the CD "Tomorrow never knows" . Fucking brilliant! I saw in some guitar magazine to play it in open "C"? Do you know ? Appreciate your comments.
Nice job man. This is almost exactly how I play this song, but you're right, it must be tuned down a bit. Whenever I play along to the song, it doesn't sound quite in tune.
hey dude , you think you could just list off the chords you're playing ? i can't quite get it just from watching and the tabs online are way off , thanks !
Hi, sounds great! Can you tell me what the recording chain is for your acoustic guitar and what type and gauge your strings are? Kindly appreciated, thanks!
@birchnbark There's no real recording chain, just playing straight acoustic and recording with the mic on the camera. As for strings, those are probably .12's, whatever coated brand was on sale.
Beautiful J-200. I'm thankful for all the instruments I've got. PT---I will be posting something shortly to show you my iced tea LP. Right now I'm fighting a "City of Bell California" situation out here. God help us all.
The chord played over "sleeping" is a C7, not a Cmaj7. It's used in almost the exact same context in "I'm Looking Through You" over the words "you're not the same".
@privettricker Ah, that's an Amsus2, but I still believe it's the wrong chord. The note John hits with his vocals matches a C7 (aka a C with your pinky two strings below your ring finger). If you want to verify, look up "Alan W Pollack Notes On". He's a music theorist who has all of the Beatles' songs figured out.
you are so fuckin' amaizing cheers from mazatlan my amigo.

With Lennon it is difficult to tell if its tuned down or slowed down
He was known for making G Martin jump thru hoops.
On Strawberry Fields JL loved the first half of one take and the second half of another take.
The two takes were in a different KEY and TEMPO JLwanted them joined.. Martin said imposssible, JL said do it anyway.
Martin pulled it off (no ProTools or Autotune in 67')
If you listen you can hear at the "Always know sometimes think its me......."phrase, the song sounds weird

What chord is that during 1:19? The "keeping alive while the?"
zerobox94 1 year ago
@zerobox94 It's A/G in the second fret, and D/B in the third fret. And for what it's worth, it's "keeping an eye on the world going by my window."
privettricker 1 year ago
@privettricker so it's Bm7b5 half diminished chord ?
roflmao791 1 year ago
Tuned down a little? How much more? A half step down from standard tuning?
zerobox94 1 year ago
@zerobox94 I don't know exactly how low they go. But just tune your E to that first E minor chord.

@daregularperson Actually, I don't play it as a Cmaj7. I don't know what it's called, but I just play an Am and take my finger off the B string.
