If you go to MySpace, CDBaby and/or iTunes, then you can get some idea of what is on each CD. Hopefully, that would make the selection process easier! (NOTE: MySpace will have complete tracks while the other sites will have clips only,)
Thanks for listening in any event!
Sincerely,
Bill McBirnie
P.S. "East of the Sun, West of the Moon" is on my latest CD, Paco Paco.
Watching this morning reaffirms that Bill is a national treasure. What a marvelous flutist, great sound + ideas + swing, just killer! Yes, Bill, Hubert and you, maybe Herbie and a few other cats. You're up there!
Why don't those of us posting these favorable comments purchase a CD or two of Mr. McBirnie from his site? I know he and his family would appreciate it, especially at Christmas time.
there is something spine tingling about the clarity this guy gets out of that flute, awesome playing my man, i'm not normally a fan of the flute but you have most certainly converted me!
I'm a begginer flutist(age 14) so I have never thought flute could be in jazz. I always thought jazz had only brasswinds in it before my friend told me she played the flute at the jazz festival in 2008.
I studied classical flute with Robert Aitken for about a year and a half, Cuban flute with Richard Egues for about a week and jazz theory with Frank Falco for about six months - but most is a result of self-study, transcribing and simply playing along with records - over many, many years.
i play flute in a jazz band, and this is really inspiring!! i hope to gain a lot of experience in my flute playing career so i can catch up to your wonderful style!!!
That is what i'm talking about,That was wonderful, even the baby in the video thought so,I enjoyed it so much I saved it.you have my Respect,Thank you:o)
hey bill, one of my dreams is coming true on the tuesday night of the jazz fest. Me and you are both playing with brenda carrol. This makes me happy and very stressed out. Im practicing out of fear at this point ;)

Jazz can incorporate pretty much every music instrument you can think of. My favorites are the xylophone, piano and b3 organ.
