  • No! Stop it! Don't cut an entire inch of that beautiful hair....no! LOL

  • oh almost forgot to ask! do you have any baby pix? I'm intrigued by your natural texture and if the curl was tighter as a child/teen... our flat iron results are very similar - very silky with movement & body, but my natural texture is muuuuch tighter

  • @gigimc I gotta see if my grandmom has any (I don't). My hair actually alot more coarse as a child from what I remember.

  • Beautiful. I'm smiling and agreeing with some of these comments. Shocking! But stunningly beautiful.

  • WOW! you did surprise me. I had to rewind the video to make sure it was really your hair. I have a problem with my hair and I need to muster up the courage to just snip it off, like you did. I really appreciate this video, because we sometimes get too attached to our hair. 1 Corinthians 11:14, 15 tells us hair is our glory but we don't have to bee sooo attached to it that we won't cut it and then we develop unhealthy hair. I'm going to cut those dead ends today!

  • @2357knmlov LOL...get rid of them girl!

    Thanks for watching! :-)

  • @SistaWithRealHair exactly i was like OH SHIT! when you cut that first cut but it was liberating ...i rewound Lol

  • We would love to see a slide show of ur hair journey!

  • @misstee14 I wish I had one to show! LOL

Keep in mind my BC was 10 going on 11 years ago .I've had 4 computers crash on me during that time - photos gone!. I didn't embrace my shorter hair and didn't take a lot of photos during that time, but I am in the process of going through all my email accounts to see what I find through my attachments - pull pictures that way (gonna take some time) , but the slide show pictures is a popular request..

  • I almost fainted when I saw you cut that much hair off. I'm still in shock.lol. You have such beautiful and healthy hair though.

  • @pinstripenette Don't be shocked...it needed to cut! lol

  • I like your videos. I love your hair. You are doing a great job with your hair.

  • I have a quick queation. I have a thick coarse hair.. How to i soften it becuase i am almost 5months natural. Please give me some tips. Thanks

  • @Estherluvs1 I just deep conditioned last night with giovanni deep conditioner (made my hair SUPER soft) then applied grapeseed oil. I can't recommend many products becasue I don't use many. But try the giovanni...its amazing! DONT use their shampoor...its horrible!

  • @Estherluvs1 I use grageseed oil to soften my hair...that might work?

  • Beautiful hair! I have the same texture hair as you. I've beem natural for almost 5months. I also do my own hair because i don't get the same results as I let someone do for me.. Thanks for this video

  • Your technique is amazing!!! You cut your ends so quick and it still look great with out setting the curlers or wrapping it. :) I love that you still flat iron which is still putting heat to it and it of ocurse, still looks amazing and healthy!

  • @KLB1218 Awwh...thank you babe! :-)

  • Damn girl... Ur hair is gorgeous!

  • is one side of your hair shorter then the other ?

  • @tentengen YES...that side is slightly shorter, however, its looks EVEN MORE shorter because it was drawn up , frizzed out with some shrinkage because it got wet that morning when I turned the shower on (didn't adjust the knobs) hate when I do that! lol

  • GURL ....YOU WENT IN WITH THOSE SCISSORS.

  • Yr hair is lovely I big chopped 8 months ago and I am loving it.. I choose to wear my hair curly I am not sure if I will ever temp straighten. But to all those who always judge.. Natural is natural.. Is the main goal not to be CHEMICAL free? Move on to a video of someone promoting what you like. She chooses to straighten with fantastic results.. The one thing on this natural hair journey that I have noticed is there always has to be some sort of division for the stupidest reasons!

  • I HAVE THAT SAME VIRGIN MOBILE RING TONE :-)

  • @MzBrazilian87 LOL...

  • oky new subbie im on my hair journey now and i want to get this length can you tell me or make a video on how to seal and moisturize and trim and ex.

  • @sexyyoungin287

Thanks for the sub...I've made a video titled "great moisturizers" check it out...

  • damnit i said i wasn't gonna sub to anymore of u naturals! lol new subbie here! that cutting once a month is for ppl that already have length. i can't do it! what is your avg growth per month? mine is abt 1/4-1/2". bc for those of us trying to get where u r cutting an inch or so a month would be pointless. your hair will b healthy but it won't be long! is your texture cottony or silky or both? bc your roller sets r amazing. do u ever wear mini twists as a ps? hhj!

  • @fanatic709 No...I never wear mini twist, but I am thinking about doing a twist out one day! I'm assuming my hair grows about half inch-1inch per month? I'm currently monitoring the growth rate...I'd like to know my true growth rate. My texture? My texture varies. I have a combination of cottony, silky, curly & straight hair - I have "mutt" hair! lol

  • @SistaWithRealHair thanx 4 a reply! yeah! your hair is amazing! i don't see nothin but satin! a wonder, when u went 2 a stylists were u as attentive 2 your hair as u r now? bc i know there r some that just don't give a damn but just like u can't totally blame relaxers 4 our hair issues u can't always blame the stylists! not 2 defend them & yes relaxers r harmful (i still texlax) but ppl don't always take in2 acct their care/lack there of when they went 2 a stylists/relaxed...

  • @SistaWithRealHair that being said, u've obviously found ? works 4 u & if it ain't broke don't fix it! that's just 1 of my nags w/ the new natural hair revolution! ppl who don't realize their own contribution 2 their bad hair. not 2 mention the divide btween natural & relaxed! this simple subject of hair is another lesson on how knowledge is power. i mean who heard of moisturize & seal? 1 of the most important practices 2 keeping hair on ur head whether natural or relaxed!hhj!

  • I just found your channel. Pretty hair!! I have cut and styled my hair myself since 1984, even when I was relaxed I maintained my own hair. You're an inspiration so keep on keeping on!! YouTube has really helped me to step up my hair game.

  • I have some dead ends I am dyeing to get rid of, I will use that technique thanks

  • I'm gonna go chop all my hair off now! Your hair is gorgeous! :D

  • I love Love love your hair!

  • your hair's beautiful

  • I just found your channel! OMG.....i'm stunned. So beautiful!!!!!

  • this is exactly what i've been looking for, thank you so much for sharing!

  • Either hate it or love it, and if you hate it that much...keep it moving! I'm a real female who can pay a compliment when it's due, and your hair is gorgeous.

  • i love the way you showed me how easy it can be to maintain your natural hair healthy!you are beautiful :)

  • Your hair is beautiful! love......

Hey Dolls check out my beauty page and subscribe.... i always subscribe back!

  • Very nice video.. I liked how you cut in layers ... definitely cutting my hair also this way.. and also using your regimen from another video..

  • I like that you aren't afraid to cut your hair. I see videos of ladies with long thin ends that hang on to them for dear life. Your hair is by far one of the best looking on YT! I already subscribed girl!!!!

  • To grow it out, long... I constantly cut my hair off due to breakage...

  • How long did it take you to grow your hair this length? And how did you wear your hair after the BIG CHOP? I'm almost 3" long after my bug chop and I'm at lost at what to do...

  • @donnisha5180

My hair have been cut (not trimed) at least 50 xs since my original big chop (did it twice). What are your goals for your hair?

  • You cut your hair just like me! lol, I just snip it off. I don't try to make my entire head even, I just cut what needs to be cut and once it's styled it looks just fine. Good job!

  • Beautiful hair! Love your confidence. Subbing...

  • MUTHAFLUBBING SUBBED!!!!

  • Prettyhair!

  • You're cool!

  • thanks for the tips love your hair growing mines out too thanks for shareing

  • Chile, I ain neva seen a black woman so bold with the scissors! IJS...

  • Beautiful hair you have your hair type is exactly like my moms it looks like, my hair was long but i had cut all my hair and now I am starting all over but hair is shoulder length now and yes like you said it does take lots of work but 1 who has more layers in their hair you would actually need to cut it differently with more angles lol my ideal goal is to get my hair back to where it was which was past my shoulders. Thanks for making these videos I hope to be there soon

  • @MamiYare thanks for the luv girlfriend...stay tuned!

Oh! ** Congratulations ** on the pregnancy...I know its a very exciting time (BIG smile) :-)

  • OMG...you just cut an inch like it was nothing!!! Im traumatized.... Love your videos!!!

  • @hairvirgin LOL...no big deal...my hair grows really fast!

I'm pectitarian...meaning I'm not considered a vegetarian because I still eat seafood. I love salmon (eat it 2-3xs a week) salmon is really good for the skin and hair (omega 3) its a rich source of potein!

  • Have you always had hair this long?

  • @cleoclaus69 Except for when I did the BC...yes pretty much!

  • I love your hair and your regimen is on point! I'm in the process of transitioning and look forward to watching the rest of your videos...taking lots of notes! Keep doing your thang!

  • @pisces1104 awwwh...thank you SO much! Just remember to keep you ends clipped...hair moisurized and minimize heat products - your hair will be on its way! :-)

  • Girllll why are you explaining your self to a bunch of women who are most likely hating?Your hair is natural and a bit altered by heat via the flat iron but that is because you want to wear your hair STRAIGHT. your not interested in wearing your hair curly. What's funny is you're getting all this heat from BLACK women. Imagine if we come together to promote and or encourage a true cause. Yes we bash on the net out of "fun" but this is hate! Girl your hair is BEAUTIFUL. Don't feed the fire!

  • @mzbighair

I said what I had to say... they can't get anymore energy outta me!

Its like beating a dead horse...I can't entertain such foolishness!

The ONLY reason I gave an ounce of conern is that I was SHOCKED by (not only how they were attacking me) how they were attacking each other - GROWN WOMEN!!!! Nah baby...I don't belong there!

Thanks for reaching out....I appreciate it!

  • @mzbighair Don't judge us all the same. If you read the thread, you'll see that many of us are actually defending you. Please don't let the ridiculous actions of a few haters taint your view of the mass majority of the supporting women on the site. Your hair is beautiful, so it's only natural for you to have haters. Keep doin you!!

  • @MzKayPea I did mention that " NOT all were imbeciles" and I did read through some positive statements!

My lash is ONLY towards the "haters" NO one else! Thanks and I will not judge all the same!

  • Thats how I wanna be able to snip when my hair gets length like that. Your hair is gorgeous love, keep doing you :)

  • Thank you so much for this video. I have been natural for a little over 4 years and currently go to a stylist in the winter to get trims (after I straighten my hair myself). Now my hair is hip length I have been itching to cut it myself but feared cutting it unevenly. I absolutely love the fact that you trim your hair yourself to blunt ends and cut off all the dead ends. You have given me the confidence to try this myself, after all its just hair and it will grow back :)

  • You and your hair ... beautiful..!!!

  • technically is ur hair really natural? like is that the hair texture that protrudes from your scalp? or is ur hair heat damaged? or altered because of heat? because i saw ur hair wet and there are some severely straight pieces probably because of heat? or am i wrong?

  • @hairnmakeuplvr

My hair is as natural as can be! I did the "BC" 10 years ago...so my hair is 100% natural. My hair is thick in some places...thin in others...MORE curly in some areas...less in others? Heat damage...from the sitting under the hair dryer with a plastic cap? Don't think so...

I only flat iron my hair 2-3 times a month....so...I couldn't tell ya?

  • @SistaWithRealHair you can get heat damage from a single flat iron session, just fyi. :)

  • @SistaWithRealHair no not heat damage for sitting under the hair dryer b/c that's indirect heat. but i thought the flat ironing at such a high temperature may have loosened some of ur natural curls over time. but if u say it hasnt, then ok. :)

  • @hairnmakeuplvr everyone has their own definition of what natural hair is. The most common/most widely used definition is hair that is not chemically altered. It's mostly just the "new natural" heads that are creating lines btw who is "really" natural and who isn't. There is not scientific definition of natural hair so if she calls her hair natural no harm no foul.

  • @J4L4N Thumbs up!

I couldn't have said it better myself!

  • @J4L4N i was just trying to figure out whether that was her natural hair texture b/c i was a new subscriber. o_O. calm down. i'm not the type of person who cares whether someone is natural, relaxed, or weaved out. i mean i dont get angry about it... but thx for your very much uneeded input. <3

  • @J4L4N Thumbs up! We have been chemically processed for so many years that the term natural just refers to chemically free hair. You can still style it just like any other race does. Dont be afraid or hate on others who choose different ways to style natural hair. Dry, unkempt looking hair is not cute. We are still allowed to style natural hair using combs, brushes, rollers, heat, twists, styling products, etc..Look in the mirror and stop the madness people. Some are taking "natural" too far.

  • Your hair is so pretty and shiny!

  • @Noodles965 thank you...at the time I had a little olive oil in it!

  • what's on your lips? love the face

  • @blackrraine

Oh...thank you - I have on victoria secret lip gloss (love them) 5 for $20!

  • @betbet816 You can...just keep your hair conditioned/moisturized 2. Ends clipped 3. Heat out!

  • omg i love your hair alot and i can't wait until i do the big chop on my head(since im transitioning with kinky twists right now) so I can start over and let my hair grow natural, healthier and faster and you're so pretty

  • @MsBOOPiiE

Thank you so much for the compliments! Yes...chopping your hair is the best way start over fresh...just keep your hair conditioned and your ends clipped...you'll see the difference!

  • Love it

but is one side of your hair longer than the other or was it hiding in the back somewhere

  • @Brownocean the left side is slightly shorter than the right but it had also gotten we (a llittle kinkier) which would make it appear much shorter...

  • Your hair is beautiful:)!

  • @kishababy90 thank you! :-)

  • Thank you efayse & masturKEIZZtion for the compliments (I'm blushing)! :-)

  • your beautiful and so is your hair ! i had to sub
