Watchin her LIVE at the Iron Horse in Northampton, MA was an AMAZING experience! Got pics and autographs and mingled with her after the show. She's very down to earth and wicked awesome! Aching to go to another concert mad soon!!
@DezzyDucks maybe, since you are an avid fan, can you tell me....where is she from. I heard once it was Portland, if so, that would be great (as I live in Oregon as well, and I have yet to see her live). I've been to Northampton! Kick ass town too. Home of Erin McKeown. Have you ever seen her in concert?
@louisvillepoet sorry it took so long to get back to you. Chris got her start Northampton, MA.. but she was raised in Connecticut.. Def a new England woman!! She is AMAZING live!! I usually see her perform at the Iron Horse (Northampton) since that is where she got her big break. It's only an hour from where I live. Been in love with her music since 2004! If you get the chance to see her, I highly recommend it!! I've met her, got pics with her, and she's signed all my tickets and cds.

@louisvillepoet I spent a few years there in my high school years and shortly thereafter.. lived in South hadley a bit as well.. I'm originally from the Boston area (Brockton).. I live in the Berkshires now (my adopted family is from there)... I am familiar with Erin McKeown, but not so much her music. I'll have to check it out. Especially if she's from the area! lol Big fan of local music!

I enjoy this track to the extent that in the five months I've owned Driving North I've not found the motivation to hear anything else on the album. I'm constantly repeating this singular track and never getting tired of it.
The first time I saw her, I'd actually gone to see Andrea Gibson (who's a slam poet) and ended up mesmerized by Chris Pureka too. I've seen her several times now so I'm sure I've seen her sing Cynical since, but I always remember her chatter before the first time I heard it. She was talking about how people always tell her how much they love it and that she's had lots of couples tell her it's "their song" which she thinks is funny and she wonders if they've even listened to the lyrics.
