@awsome2010ish There are 2 ways to go about it: either building the truck from the ground up, using Tamiya Clod Buster gear cases and an aftermarket chassis and electronics. Or, you can try checking ebay since modified Clods show up there from time to time.
@awsome2010ish There are two ways to usually obtain a modified Clod Buster - either building it yourself or buying one from someone who has one prebuilt they're willing to part with. If you want to do it yourself, it's essentially the 2 Clod Buster gear boxes combined with an aftermarket chassis such as those from Thunder Tech Racing or Crawford Performance Engineering.
If you want to buy one, there are some on ebay that pop up from time to time.
@smartass23t The one that he has here in the video is the 1/10th scale one. If you do get the 1/8th scale one, you might have to run some long wideners (maybe like 1.5" ones) to make it look spaced properly with the larger body. My Raminator truck in all my freestyle videos with it are with the 1/8th nitro Raminator body, if that gives you an idea.
@1MrRCRACER This one is on an aftermarket chassis that was designed around having a longer wheelbase than stock. Different chassis manufacturers have varied designs & different 4-link bar lengths. Some chassis kits, like this one, the aluminum CPE Terminator chassis, are designed to have different mounting holes in the chassis for the upper & lower 4-link bars. This allows different wheelbase lengths to be achieved depending on the user's preference. Also, longer or shorter 4-links can be used.
@Dylan101309 Some people build the trucks themselves by buying the gear box kits for the Clod Buster from places online like Tower Hobbies, and then combining them with an aftermarket chassis from Thunder Tech Racing or Crawford Performance Engineering. For a prebuilt truck that may or may not be used, they show up on ebay from time to time.
oh i know right? when i put the ne wgears in my truck i'm plopping a heavy weighted diff oil to act like a locker only not completely locking it since i am racing it was well
The truck actually belongs to Josh Dig Rhodes (ACDCFan38 on here). He bought the truck as a rolling chassis (assembled chassis, no electronics included) from Crawford Performance Engineering. It's an electric modified Tamiya Clod Buster.
@Flicktrix12 Those tires are the stock Tamiya Clod Buster ones.

Thats sweet. Is that a 1/8 or 1/10 digger body? I'm doing a clod buildup and don't know if the 1/8 digger body will be too big looking.

What diff oil are you using? And are you using a ball diff at all?
I have the ball diffs in my Clods since the limited slip it provides seems to work well for me in racing and freestyle.
mrdestruction21 3 years ago
probably 100,000 wt i think. if not i might possible lock a set of spiders and see how it handles if it aint good i'm jus gunna ball diff it
