I wish a large developer had enough balls to take a project like this on~ Make it more simulation than arcade. Give us a few large cities, at least 2 to start off. Give us 50 NORMAL everyday modern cars, from hondas-neons,evos,STi's, Mustangs, Maros, etc etc. Highly detailed fully licensed cars. Then add 20 cars every few months going up to the exotics. Add tons of performance parts/visual modifications and continue adding it monthly. Make it pay to play and reap the rewards. How hard is it?

i miss this game so much you have no idea... no other racing game went that in depth with the customization.. you could pick specific engine parts companies you wanted them to be from and everything i was maybe 8 when i was playing it and i havent found a racing game thats come close to it since

and this new autolog feature is only good for arcade gaming... but in these times games were made for making and moddelling each thing as close as possible to reality... nowadays only the graphics are real :-/ today's gamephysics suck :P great game, i wish i could have played it :-/

i miss it so much!! i was like 10 years old when i used to play this. played it on my dads piece of shit emachines computer and it couldnt handle the graphics so all the writing in the game looked wierd. i seriously learned how to read how to read it after a while. motor city had its own language haha

i built up a wagon with the exuast coming up out of the hood. it was bright green looked like a derby car and i would drive the wrong way on the track and ram ppl that was trying to race... they would be so pissed hahahahahahahaha then they had to pay for there repair bill. rofl

To be honest, their excuse was that not enough people were bringing in the income to be able to afford keeping the servers up. Of course I think it's a conspiracy to this day.

compared to nfs world, if you guys tried the beta, makes no such attempt to make the game FUN. The fun part of an MMO doesn't come from gfx or physics, it comes from the experience the players have with each other. UO was fun, EVE was fun, nfs world, meh, lameass texting in stadium. pathetic.

nfs world is nothing close to this. MCO was fun because of the *drum rolls* players!! the mechanics of the game makes p2p interaction inevitable. The p2p buy and sell and bid works perfectly with all the parts. Not just that but the game is highly complex. When you get the hang of tuning cars for a specific track you really feel good because you know EXACTLY what you did, why, and see it happen. Oh and the 1001hp ford of course lol.

The game is coming back. :) Just google Motor World Online. The team who made it had a passion for the game that EA couldn't stand! So after they killed it the Team bought the rights and are getting ready to have it go online again. :)

You're a fucking idiot. Drift Shitty isn't anything compared to MCO. Gay City is just as lame. Nothing can top Motor City Online. Project Torque is a damn good game, but it can't compare to MCO mainly because you can't buy/sell/trade cars, you can't race for pinks.

And instead of knowing about cars, you buy fucking upgrade packs. MCO you had to buy everything separate then really rebuild your car. Project Torque does have a lot of potential though.

Yeah, when the added the eclipse and supra I knew it was the end. They wanted to work on foreign cars more than the american muscles and when they got negative feedback on the addition, they shit in everyone's cornflakes and ripped the servers.

I remember it clear, everyone thought it was just an april fools joke because the game was doing so well, and sadly enough it wasn't. I just wish I had pictures of my cars or videos, I have nothing from the game anymore. Except the CD/CD Case.

I played this game, it was cool. However much of the builds made little sense. I know one thing for sure no one who wrote the game new anything about turning a wrench and building cars. I loved a 57 Vette STOCK out turning my mod'd 69 Judge. ERRR not hardly not ever. But it was a interesting game.
