  • Am I the only one who thinks the cut of Morpheus turning around looks a little off, I think its about 2 frames to slow. Just my take on it.

  • I'm confused. As I understood, the director chooses the type of shots that will be used, but here it sounds as if the editor is the one who decides the shots. So, when do you give credit to the director and when to the editor in a sequence?

  • The director indicates the shots he wants to use in the final product, and mostly he works side by side with the editor pointing it out. Obviously, he doesn't abandon his baby in the postproduction process

  • And where does the director of photography belong in that equation?

  • He is responsible of the visual aspect of the movie (by means of the camera and the lighting) according to the need of the director. Remember, many of the different artists involved in the filmmaking process put their creativity in use, but orchestrated by the global vision of the director. As for the postproduction stage, he would work with the director side by side supervising the photographic processing, the color correction, among other activities.
