Really, you could look at the motion from any perspective and it would look different, but we chose the sun as the center because we want to know where the planets are in orientation to the sun, and we don't really need to take the motion of the solar system into account. This would really over complicate things. And it isn't as if we don't know that the sun moves.

As the Moon is also a satellite of Earth so it would probably follow a very similar pattern to Earth's following the Sun likewise the sateliites of our neighbouring planets in the Solar System. Part 2 of the video starts to use nice graphics but I'm not sure anything is really said. Lots of crazy videos using dual torus models lately, but I guess I wasn't interested enough to watch again and see if he tried to tie this part to part 1 of the video or actually state anything other than he made a dual torus model, in 3D representation and view from above model. If you want to try and tie parts 1 and 2 together, fine people waste lots of time doing things that don't really mean much.
OK...the video is two parts, Part 1: solar system model. Both his and standard solar system model are correct, but his isn't very useful. Its about what are you picking to measure movement in comparison from. Standard model is good for predicting reactions between things in this solar system. Although he may be technically correct in that the solar system is in itself moving, so what? What stationary point does he want to compare us to? There is no known 0,0,0 coordinate.
i imagine its pretty easy to convince a bunch of people on youtube who are not exactly "experts" in this field of study. still interesting and nice to know that not everyone has stopped trying to understand space.
please note, in this solar motion through space, a whirl around an axis, the planets themselves, at any moment in time, follow an "apparent" heliocentric path, if viewed from "above the sun". Meaning that if you were to look at the sun where you were the path of motion, you would see the planets rotate around the sun in a heloicentric motion, but with time they appear larger and larger because the sun is coming towards you. Still heliocentric if the frame of reference is the sun.
Nassim says that earth does not orbit around the sun but goes spirally. It may be the truth but then its moving along with the Solar System. The fly inside the car moves forward along with the car. So when the fly flies backwards in the car it is in reality still moving forward. Nassim seems to have misunderstood Einstein's' Theory of Relativity.
@dinyar65 he does, he's saying we're taught to use an arbitrary reference frame. using the universe itself as the reference frame is more accurate as it includes more information and allows you to better visualize the earths actual movement through the galaxy, and the galaxy itself moving in respect to the observable universe. The model of the stationary sun with the planets rotating around it does not make one see how the same pattern occurs at such vastly different scales.
@cyaard No legitimate scientist ever said the sun is stationary. The Sun orbits the center of the galaxy and the planets orbit the sun. Look at jupiter, which is our solar system in miniature. Jupiter orbits the sun, ie. moving through space and the 40 or so moons orbit around it in a relatively flat disk with respect to the center of the planet. There is no point to map the earth position through the galaxy as it is so insignificant to be nearly meaningless

The constellations *do* change with time, the ancients recorded different positions for some of the closest stars.
A stars motion relative to the background is called "Proper Motion" (see wiki/Proper_motion). Barnard's star has the highest PM at 10.3 seconds of arc per year. High enough to be seen though the biggest telescopes.
But you wont see these changes with the naked eye year on year.

I remember looking at astronomy books depicting the solar system as flat. Probably because, as a child, it was easier to look at that image and comprehend it, understand what the SS looks like. The sun is moving, flying thru space, within The Mily Way, and looking at the SS in a more vertical position is very interesting. I don't doubt it all, thats probably exactly what it looks like, from a distance, flying next to it per se. Cool.

If the sun is the plane of reference, it is stationary, therefore you would explain the solar system exactly like it is taught in school. As the Moon is also a satellite of Earth so it would probably follow a very similar pattern to Earth's following the Sun likewise the sateliites of our neighbouring planets in the Solar System. I'm open minded as I know how elements of established science have lied about out true origins.

If the ball is thrown from the front toward the rear of the aircraft, the ball relative to the passengers is going "backward" at 100mph but passes someone on the ground at 300mph "forwards"
If the sun was motionless (relative to one's position) the planets would appear to orbit pretty much as the textbooks teach, but as everything is apparently moving outwards from the point of the big bang the "speed" and "direction" are relative to position and trajectory

Part 2 of the video starts to use nice graphics but I'm not sure anything is really said. Lots of crazy videos using dual torus models lately, but I guess I wasn't interested enough to watch again and see if he tried to tie this part to part 1 of the video or actually state anything other than he made a dual torus model, in 3D representation and view from above model. OK...the video is two parts, Part 1: solar system model. Both his and standard solar system model are correct, but his isn't very useful. Its about what are you picking to measure movement in comparison from. Standard model is good for predicting reactions between things in this solar system. Although he may be technically correct in that the solar system is in itself moving, so what? What stationary point does he want to compare us to? There is no known 0,0,0 coordinate.

please note, in this solar motion through space, a whirl around an axis, the planets themselves, at any moment in time, follow an "apparent" heliocentric path, if viewed from "above the sun". Meaning that if you were to look at the sun where you were the path of motion, you would see the planets rotate around the sun in a heloicentric motion, but with time they appear larger and larger because the sun is coming towards you. Still heliocentric if the frame of reference is the sun.

Nassim says that earth does not orbit around the sun but goes spirally. It may be the truth but then its moving along with the Solar System. The fly inside the car moves forward along with the car. So when the fly flies backwards in the car it is in reality still moving forward. Nassim seems to have misunderstood Einstein's' Theory of Relativity.

@dinyar65 he does, he's saying we're taught to use an arbitrary reference frame. using the universe itself as the reference frame is more accurate as it includes more information and allows you to better visualize the earths actual movement through the galaxy, and the galaxy itself moving in respect to the observable universe. The model of the stationary sun with the planets rotating around it does not make one see how the same pattern occurs at such vastly different scales.

@cyaard No legitimate scientist ever said the sun is stationary. The Sun orbits the center of the galaxy and the planets orbit the sun. Look at jupiter, which is our solar system in miniature. Jupiter orbits the sun, ie. moving through space and the 40 or so moons orbit around it in a relatively flat disk with respect to the center of the planet. There is no point to map the earth position through the galaxy as it is so insignificant to be nearly meaningless

There is a big problem with this ridiculous video, but that's not it.
The constellations *do* change with time, the ancients recorded different positions for some of the closest stars.
A stars motion relative to the background is called "Proper Motion" (see wiki/Proper_motion). Barnard's star has the highest PM at 10.3 seconds of arc per year. High enough to be seen though the biggest telescopes.
But you wont see these changes with the naked eye year on year.

It depends entirely on the point of reference. There's nothing new here it's only adding in the motion of the sun. Relative to the sun the planets revolve in an eliptical orbit. It's not rocket science!

Carl Sagan discovered this in 1977...
Our solar system revolves around our NEBULA.. Even though our planets revolve around themselves as opposed to the sun..
Carl's National Geographic series called "Our Universe" depicted this to grade school children in 1978..
If this news is news to you, Grunge is considered "Classic Rock"...

how do you know the direction the sun is moving in?
it could easily be moveing in a forward backward motion therefore the planets would be spinning around it

To think the sun just sits there in the centre is a very myopic theory. All matter is in constant flux and evolution. The patterns the planets make when revolving around each other, is also wonderous

Bad title for the video. He is just choosing a different reference point for observing the celestial motions. If you were moving the same speed as the sun in the vector he "not so profoundly" added you would view circular/elliptical orbits around a stationary sun. Fails to consider relativity obviously

I remember looking at astronomy books depicting the solar system as flat. Probably because, as a child, it was easier to look at that image and comprehend it, understand what the SS looks like. The sun is moving, flying thru space, within The Mily Way, and looking at the SS in a more vertical position is very interesting. I don't doubt it all, thats probably exactly what it looks like, from a distance, flying next to it per se. Cool.

This is just stupid, he's using a completely different frame of reference to explain this. If the sun is the plane of reference, it is stationary, therefore you would explain the solar system exactly like it is taught in school. There's no conspiracy here, just some guy using an external reference that obviously doesn't understand relativity.
