To me, Cactus, is the Pixies, and Black Francis.

Ha. The lyrics may be dark but the tempo, vocals, and general feel of the song are not. And you are right. Cactus absolutely is the weakest track on Heathen. Also, many people do dark better than the Pixies. I like the Pixies, but they are not the darkest band on Earth. Nor the most talented. I realize this statement may be scorned here, as generally only fans of The Pixies watch this video. I cannot help it, however. It is only the truth.

Weird this is one of my top 5 songs of all the works associated with Frank Black. Easily the most visual lyrics of any of them. The Bowie version was too much candy to make it enjoyable though. Yes Pixies are far from dark.
