  • best song in the fuckin world

  • @mellorio I agree 100%. It's my Happy Song. :)

  • Mr. "I'm fuckin' ROCKIN' in the background" Hopkins!!!

  • GREAT, GREAT song. I had a guy dedicate this song to me when i was twenty-one. then i broke his heart....would give anything to have a dude feel this way and be moved this way again. so on behalf of all us heartbreakers, so sorry. You were worth so much more than the poor treatment you received. happy friday!

  • What a beautiful buzz!!!!

  • Nicky Hopkins on piano totally drives this song. The Stones can't cut away from Mick's face for a lousy second to show Hopkins playing the heck out of a piano. Hopkins was probably paid 30 bucks for the session and told that maybe they'll call him next week.

  • @DrDreamPhD WHO GIVES A SHIT . ANY PIANO PLAYER COULD PLAY THIS PIECE. I BELIVE JAGGER/RICHARDS WROTE THE SONG

  • Even with the heat, the electrical shortages and fires, and the French speaking people, I would still give anything to have been there in the South of France with them while they recorded Exile.

  • This is one of my favorite tunes - I can't play it loud enough. I think I will name myh next boat Lovin' Cup. Can't wait till the women ask me why.

  • @WWPotter974 dont hang out with women who dont know this song!

  • @graciehincj That's great advice for everyone. Is there any moment in Rock HIstory as cool as when Mick and Keith look at each other and smile? This song is in the pocket.

  • ....what a beautiful buzz...

  • * * * * *

  • What a beautiful buzz!!!!

  • rock and roll !::!!!!!....grande rolling stones!!!

  • Keith Richards rules!!!

  • Their absolute peak

  • what a beautiful verse....what a beautiful verse.........

  • food for my soul ..... quenches my thirst ... curbs my hunger. my feast !!

  • Beggar's Banquet, Let It Bleed, Exile On Main Street, Sticky Fingers. The four albums that have never been topped by anybody. Not the Beatles, not the Who, not the Kinks, not anybody, etc. Those four records have never been topped and they won't be topped by anybody.

  • @jalapenowarrior - You are exactly right! Those four albums will always be the real trademark of The Stones. Keith Richards is rightly famous for " the sound" he came up with. He didn't invent it but he certainly found a vein of musical creativity that although familiar hadn't been pursued particularly in the direction that he felt it most; purely Jazzed American R&B Boogie Woogie Honky Tonk Country Western Blues. Ah.......The Wicked Glee!

  • @jalapenowarrior you my friend could not be more correct. this, the greatest band of all time, will live forever.

  • @jalapenowarrior Man, I listen to a lot music, and have been doing so for many decades now. While I've encountered a great deal of superb albums during my stretch as music lover, I too keep coming back to these four. Never had to lift the needle out of the groove once with these...just let 'em play cover to cover!

  • @jalapenowarrior those 4 are the dogs. That's it, they're the story. :-)

  • @jalapenowarrior

Truer words never spoken. Those four are the four. But, This is the one.

  • @jalapenowarrior AMEN TO THAT

  • Aliens could nuke this planet, in the end, all that remains will be cockroaches and Keith Richards, and then he'll probably roll up the cockroaches and smoke 'em!

  • no better reason more for You Tube...LONG LIVE KEITH and the rest of the boys

  • @tampikosita Sì, es Nicky! :)

  • Saw the Stones do this in '72 at "The Garden" when I was 18. A night to remember.

  • LOVE this song !

  • quien esta tocando el piano , acaso es nicky hopkins?

  • que sesy se ve mick

  • The Stones were not the same after Mick Taylor left, Buck Owens wasn't the same after Don Rich was killed in the motorcycle accident, and Dwight Yoakam wasn't the same after Pete Anderson departed.

  • I love this band! Stones 4 life!!!

  • hey roling stone lovers........F U C K Y O U

did you know that the foo fighters last 3 albums were written about what i have discovered? dont believe me? i have proof. go to "the real thing russell morris" and press "see all" to find my 3 recently posted comments to find out why. my callsign is figbat1. i am not lying. honest. regards from tasmania.

  • iloveyoustonesiloveyoumickjaggeriloveyoustonesiloveyoumickjaggeriloveyoustonesiloveyoumickjaggerandkeithyoureprettycooltooiloveyoustones

  • in my opinion, i dont see how a band that were amazing for 10 years could be better than a band that have been amazing for 40 years. beatles were sure good but i see the rolling stones to be on a whole different level. thats just my opinon.

  • the rolling stones were just like the beatles they were good then they got really fucking good. the stones just hit there peak a little latter.

  • Loved what keith said in his book about mick getting in a coreographer, we knew what moves were Micks and which werent "We have been watching that arse for 40 yrs" priceless

  • this album was released first year of my life, and when the other kids were listening to disco, i was rocking out with the stones! their music got me through some tough times and will always have a place in my heart. thanks for the post! What a beautiful buuuzzz....

  • Awhhh in the ending of this video ,the little old couple was so sweet :))))

  • Keith doesn't use a guitar strap for his acoustic guitars?

  • All I gotta say is...1:52.

  • Like a Piggy Piper

  • Keith's book is like listening to a Stones song. Pure joy, pure undiluted joy, as pure as the drugs Keith says he used to do!

  • one of my favorites .... but they're almost all my favorites

  • but this one is not live, not exactly this one, sounds so much of the one on the record.

plus many places where jagger sings alone but you can hear richars voice. anyway i love this song so freaking much :D

  • @jokowwenna It's the recording played over a rehearsal tape.

  • I used to think there was nothing better on youtube. Now I just think there's nothing better. Geniune wow.

  • Mick and Keith were hitting on all 8-cylinders, when they wrote THIS one! That's a beautiful song!

  • @tallpaul881 amen

  • god bless Nicky Hopkins (piano)

  • Who's playing piano on this?

  • @eastlight

i think its nicky hopkins :)

  • @jokowwenna Come to think of it, it must be - sadly another great loss.

  • just the best no doubt

  • gods.

  • Were the Stones the same after Mick Taylor left? No

Was Buck Owens the same after Don Rich died in the motorcycle accident? No

Was Dwight Yoakam the same after he parted ways with Pete Anderson? No

  • Mick Taylor and Don Rich are my favorite guitarists.

  • I have tears streaming down my face this is so fucking beautiful..There is no better band around ever..Bless you Mick and Co....Thx for making my life better.

  • Mick/Nick/andMick!

  • Go to loving cup-montreux `72 if you wanna watch the real shit!

  • lip syncing!!!! no!!

  • best thing on youtube.

  • @tweedy151 I play it and it always makes me happy. :)

  • Great song. Wish we had the live audio.

  • Goddamn I love this song!!!!

  • I only own one record, exile on main st, I brought a record player especially to play it

  • This song always makes me feel good, no matter how bad I feel. :)

  • Loving Good

  • this toon really hits the spot, beyond words...

  • Please read Keefs "life" biography, excellent insight into the madness and mayhem of The Stones, and the genius of Jagger/Richards, great read for any Stones fan, I loved it! Saw them at Hampden Park Glasgow 1990 Steel Wheels tour, Unbelievable, Mick 200ft up on scaffolding singing "Sympathy" and still managed to pull the best looking girl from a crowd of 50,000 people LEGENDARY!!!

  • @alg1573 There was a good looking glasweigan? fook me,

    well played mick

  • @MrBellend1977 Yeah Mick found the only good lookin' Glaswegian! The man's not just a legend he also has unbelievably good eyesight for his age!

  • @alg1573 Yes Keith's book is brilliant. I never wanted it to end. Nor do I want Keith to.

  • @CandySpangles Keith Richards is burnt on my heart forever

  • @CandySpangles I feel the very same way. The book left a great respect for him as a man and as a musician. Great minds think alike. :)

  • @CandySpangles Same here! Developed a completely different respect for the dude. Love KR.

  • @elauraburnette Me too. He's absolutely hilarious. And it shows that he really has a lot of respect for women (Unlike Mick, but hey gotta love Mick) and his kids.

  • @CandySpangles I so agree!!! God I loved his book! Such a real deal!!!!!!!!!

  • @CandySpangles Keith will never die. I got it from some good authority. Heaven wouldn't know what to do with him and hell don't want the hassle. So, not to worry. He'll be with us forever, just being Keith :-)

  • @CandySpangles Keith will never die. I got it from some good authority. Heaven wouldn't know what to do with him and hell don't want the hassle. So, not to worry. He'll be with us forever, just being Keith :-)

  • @dajesusblues I have it on good authority that Keith will die tragically just short of his 110th birthday when one of his Telecasters falls neck-first from a very high shelf during an earthquake and it impales him through the heart when he runs a five-flat 40 to catch it. Taken before his time, his memory will live forever. Reached for comment, the ghost of Ron Wood says, "shit, man, he spilt half the fucking bottle of Jack." Marlboro declares bankruptcy. Heroin: the next day, safe and legal.

  • @mtut rock n' roll brotha. there's no other way to die :))

  • this is the shit...proper music

  • buenísimo temazo!!!

la mejor epoca con Mick Taylor 1969-1775 lo mejor de los stones /m/

  • probably one of my top favorites from them

  • Que tema ! cuando los stones sonaban más stones que nunca.

  • I'm still ticked about being born too late to see these guys in the 60's and 70's!

  • Best piano song of all time. Easily.

  • I think this session was in Keith's basement studio .. south of france. what piece of artistry!

  • Will always love the Stones but there is a big reason why they peaked during 1969-1974, Mick Taylor.

  • Comment removed

  • @tunahound Who else is then?????

  • @Jagermeister196 Agree. But what impact did Taylor have on all the Big 4 Stones albums (Beggars, Let It Bleed, Sticky and Exile). He was not involved in Beggars or Let It Bleed. He certainly played a major role on Sticky and Exile.

  • buenisimo

  • I think Jimmy played drums on Happy.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • The 70's equivalent of the 90's Black Crowes Amorica album, damn good music to party to or travel with.

  • this is what it's all about right here!!!!!

  • Add Charlie's drumming to all the kudos. I think this is one of Charlie's greatest moments on record.

  • @ls1959 except this is the studio audio (on the album the Drums on this track is played by their then producer Jimmy Miller)

  • Comment removed

  • @clanbj I think you're wrong on this. Jimmy Miller is listed as playing "percussion" on Loving Cup but not drums on the album credits. He is listed as playing "drums" on a couple other Exile tunes including Shine a Light and Happy. I researched the web a bit and they all suggest that it was Watts playing drums on Loving Cup.

  • Charlie Watts = coolest mother fucker ever. And he makes it look effortless.

  • @KnqsX He is the motor that keep's the Stone's going

  • Fucking Classic Footage. Gives me chills!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thing of beauty!

  • i wanna hear it on my funeral!

  • Damn I love this song!

  • Man its the piano that carries this beautiful song

  • i'm your MAID ON THE MOUNTAIN WAITING ON A FRIEND AND THE SORCERROR of all thing's and THE ANGEL OF MIND'S KNOW'S WHO HE IS fill this LOVING CUP FOR U R THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN angel

  • one of the best stone's song ever....

  • one of the supreme highlights from their 72 masterpiece

  • Look at Watts. He doesn't give a shit about the camera. These guys were just totally unlike any other band during this period.

  • "Exile On Main Street"!!!

    B-E-S-T of the B-E-S-T!!!

    a BILLION STARS

  • I reviewed Exile on Main Street as my latest music review......let's just say I was underwhelmed. It's on my page if anyone is interested.

  • muy bueno traducido y todo!!

  • What an EPIC song and record(Exile)glad they re-released it

Btw Beck is the only artist to inspiringly channel this epic sound in the great wide spectrum of his sonic palette....

  • Charlie Watts is seriously so awesome. Watch this video and bask in his awesomeness.

  • best tune off the album

  • the best ever!

  • * * * * *

  • people commenting here love this song. this song rarely features in most peoples' list of 'great Stones songs'. that says it all. what geniuses (for so many reasons)MJ and KR are/were: the biggest back catelogue of brilliant rock and roll there will ever be.

  • i could write a book about how much i love this song.... its just so beautiful

  • @LedZeppelin827 especially the climax!

  • @LedZeppelin827 I rate it the Stones #1.

  • @LedZeppelin827 ......... U and 250 million others! Ashokan Reservoir 1976, Nana Plaza 2001. Clinton Plaza 1999, MIami 1981, Phoenix 1998, Meechaimansion1999, Montien BKK 1998 and so on and this classic brings back actual Visions! And it will do so for years to come! BEAUTIFUL is a very accurate word!

  • EXILE, GREATEST ALBUM EVER! :)

  • this was their finest album every song on it is top rate. also this the stones best lineup of band members

  • Killer song. Killer band. Great vocals by The Glimmers. Whew! Just don't make 'em like this anymore!

  • I believe any person or musician with taste must consider this song as being unquestionably one of the greatest ever written by Richards and Jagger. Obviously from the depths of their souls which makes it so pure. I'll take this raw substance and creativity over any artificiality and flash from modern music!

  • linda linda linda linda...

  • this video was recorded in Montreux (Switzerland) in 1972 i think there's also a version of Tumbling Dice and others songs from the same place

  • Where did you find this video? Got the cd but didn't know there was video !

  • The best thing on this song is Nicky's piano playing and the horns. To play this on guitar capo at the 5th fret and just easy chords D, G, A,, C, F, Bm .

  • this is the album version of Lovin Cup(audio) with this video dubbed over top.

  • Anyone!!! Got 7 bullets??

  • Unbeaten rock band.

  • This song is perfect....just perfect.

  • Awesome and flawless !

  • When you boil it all down, discard the hundreds of millions of dollars made, the sellout tours, the multi platinum albums, at the core of it all is 5 guys getting together with thier instruments for the sheer joy of playing, what a beautiful buzz

  • Mick and Keith in their prime years. Keith's backup vocals, Nicky Hopkins, piano, the sax at the end, the whole musical arrangement, great. Brings back good memories growing up with the Stones. Good Times!! The Best Rock and Roll Band in the World, the Rolling Stones!!

  • Doesn't Charlie sound just so great on this...? More Bonham than Watts!

  • @burnsybaby1987 yeah right ..hes playing so open and the work of the engineer!!!like charly i got a set of gretch drums, cause charlie played em,hehe....watch me play them on this if u like...

  • Mick Jagger never liked 'Exile on Main Street' because his vocals were supposedly too far down in the mix - but that's one of the reasons why it's such a great record.

Some of the Rolling Stones best music is almost unlistenable due to his dreadful singing, and I'm sure the other musicians involved would agree.

  • @DOGDICE01 I think that's funny - maybe cos it's a bit true. He was also jealous of Gram Parson's allegedly. Exile is Keith's favourite album and I also really like that it is.

  • a remnant of fading english glory...

  • I would have liked to have seen the horn section featured and the piano man in this video unless it was just lip synched and they were not actually there.......

  • @himycatisdead it's a promo video & is not "live"

  • and who are the 7 retards that gave this a thumbs down?

  • Within a 5 yr period the Stones brought out, Beggars banquet, Exile and Goats head soup, 3 seminal works, a band could go a whole career on one of these albums, truly amazing

  • @deejayzak How could you forget Let It Bleed with the apocalyptic Gimme Shelter?!! Rock's greatest song of dread and possibly the Stones greatest track and the fin de siecle Can't Always Get What You Want?!!! Not forgetting the best white Rock 'N' Roll live album of all time Get Yer Ya Ya's Out , that is until Decca release the 72' American tour album. Must do your homework.

  • @daubreyjaneweirdsley Nor forgetting the stand-alone singles Jumping Jack Flash (what an intro! What a groove) and Honky Tonk Women. And Sticky Fingers. Has any other band ever had a run of albums of such pure brilliance!?
