I'm completely bewildered by what makes Okkervil River so awesome. I like the live version more, but it would be wonderful if someone could explain this devote idol worship.

Easy, you like an original take on americana that's infused with as much innovation as emotion and fueled by songwriting that's nothing short of pure genius. Eclecticism is also probably as important to you as structure, theme, and overall sound - all of which the band seems to effortlessly weave through each of their release. You probably also like the various moods of any given OR song and the voice(that voice!) that propels that mood. And lastly, you have excellent taste.
