  • I am going to Pittsburghs Show March 30. Wifey got em for Valentines. Good Job girl!! I hope she doesnt think im taking her

  • @drinkspecials ....LOLOLOLOLOL...awesome!!!! I literally laughed out loud at that....

  • I don't mean this to reflect negatively on my VH boys and I speak of this song only when I say...This sounds like a Poison song + balls x talent.

  • Nothing sounds better than VH if you've been drinkin'- NOTHING.

  • saw them in 07' on the reunion.

seeing them again on MAY 11, 2012.

cant wait gonna kick ass, and prob playing this tune.

    Fucking siked!

  • @ccarnage556 your so lucky, we cant go >:o

  • this song is just too bitchin! not enough people have heard it.

  • That guitar solo! I must learn it.

  • Anyone else kinda feel like this could be Van Halen's best song? That chorus, man.

  • This band is a Ten. Henry Rollins said it best, it's a stellar production. The breakdown around 2:10 which then launches into that heavy bridge again...amazing!!

  • Such a great song . . . from the days when people took partying seriously.

  • @Exilemainstreet GODDAMN RIGHT!!!!!

    VAN HALEN 1980

  • i hate this song thumbs up if you disagree :D

  • sounds like a softened up versiopn of atomic punk at the beginning

  • Want to see my id ? Try to clip my wings ? Don't have to show you proof of anything. I know the law friend !!!

  • Hey thisischavez I got news for you . Eddie played bass on all the albums not Mike. They wanted him in the band because of his voice. He sings all the high harmony parts in the songs. It's a running joke in the band about him not playing bass on the records. Sorry to burst you bubble

  • @kennopalus no he didn't you fuck

  • @kennopalus Not true. Anthony not playing is the exception not the rule on the first 6 albums.

  • @kennopalus. Sorry, bro..but he played bass on all albums until 1984. Fact.

  • this song more then any capture the essence of Van Halen in their prime. Not saying it's their best song..Just saying it is the perfect example of what Van Halen was and why they doth kick ass.

  • 11th hour ---- I'm going back outside

  • Ooooh!! Love it when Dave does that! ......

  • kick butt man ... i love this album ....

  • There is no classic VH sound without MA!!

  • Michael Anthony is unbelievable. There is no Van Halen without Roth and certainly no VH without Michael Anthony. No offence Wolfgang. \m/ \m/

  • 4 PEOPLE THINK THE SONG JUMP IS BETTER....LOL

  • This....is the reason I bought a guitar.....un fucking real!!! EVH is GOD

  • fucking unreal !

  • Beyond anything any band could even think of doing today.

  • 2-7-2012. period.

  • @usernamevince1. The date that we have all been waiting for. Unleash the hounds.....

  • Van Fuckin' Halen.

  • Without doubt..the most, kick ass awesome tune, I have ever heard!!..Man, these guys hold a corner on the the f'n awesome market ..gotta say'!! Van Halen..has never, and will never be equalled..sorry..not gonna happen..

    Van Halen..Rules!! ♥

  • @GottaLoveEddie without a doubt!!..the greatest band in rock history!

  • Van/Halen - Often imitated but never duplicated, this tune ROCKS and is way under rated!!

  • I used to rock out to this song back in the day!!! This is Van Halen, at their very best!!!! I used to party my ASS off to Van Halen!!!!

  • @1962drob Me too,ROCK ON!!!!!!!

  • Fucken Mike, after the solo kicks in he pounds those bass lines, you can clearly hear em! Sounds so epic! His playing was as amazing as his back up vocals! This was rock n roll at its best!

  • How can anyone listen to this, and not know that Eddie is THE BEST ROCK GUITARIST EVER! He has such speed, but he never loses his feel.

  • @MidnightRambler73

No greater words have been spoken dude.

  • LOOKIN' FOR SOMEBODY TO SQUEEEEEZE --- AHHH !!!

  • 3 people would rather be at Occupy Wallstreet

  • Awesome!

  • great sound qualtiy...

I can't decide which is the best VH album: W n C first or Fair Warning... Nope, I just decided, I think it's this one bc FW has too much filler with Sunday in the Park and So this is Love.. I could do without that shit; however, I dig Push Comes to Shove- that one's way cool, to me.. and it gets my woman HOT- an added bonus. ha! ... again, GREAT sound quality- sounds so bad-A55 from my Logitech speakers...

  • @Vaekkrinhart going with FW, but it's damn close...this song and Simple Rhyme are so good

  • If I could only have one VH album on a desert island this it!!

  • Could someone PLEASE explain why the #$%$@&!! this song isn't played on the radio on a regular basis like "Free Bird", "Walk This Way"'etc.? This song is MONEY!

  • I saw them perform this song at L.A. Sports Arena back in 1980. Absolutely kick ass show. I believe I still have my concert sleeves shirt I bought at the show back then. It says "1980 Invasion Tour" lol It certainly was that. My ears are still ringing from that show

  • @ThePeterstrasser I saw them on that same tour at the San Diego Spotrs arena...I still have the baseball jersey tour shirt that say 1980 Invasion on the front....my daughter wears it now I've outgrown it somewhat. The Roth years VH was a great band.

  • Always funny to see peeps seperating the VR and VH bands... the were a wicked rock outfit with a jester at the helm and the chemistry was there, SERIOUS party times... Hagar was a play safe bet that made them money.... but its was like going to the movies with your folks... you knew you weren't getting laid that night!

  • almost metal... but certainly perfect hard-rock...

  • my fave

  • Holy FUCK this is a great hard rock song!

  • "I'm takin' whiskey to the party tonight and I'm lookin' for somebody to squeeze..."

I think that pretty much says what needs to be said about this song and Roth-era Van Halen in general, doesn't it?

Thank you Dave, Eddie, Alex, and Michael.

  • I know Im talkn to alot of supposed jailbirds here when I say, Imagine what we did n got away with back in the days of the MIGHTY VH ? I know the Policeman aint the same now, no way uh uhhhhh........ `79 with Sabbath at MSG, best was jumpin the turnstyle at MSG with the scalpers tix n money n freeshow. DO that today you gettinn 20 yrs

  • Freakin' Awesome!!! Love Van Halen!! ♥

  • This song owns you, your guitar, your Mom and your dog, and it stole you girlfriends virginity. You can't possibly ever think of being this cool. Yes i'm talkin about you.

    King Edward rules.

  • I know it's hard not to be consumed by the ferocity of Ed's solo work, but try to listen to Mike during the solo one time. He's throwin' it down. It's hard to be underrated while being in the best American rock band, but somehow he was. And his harmonies....well, don't get me started...

  • @thisischavez I totally hear what you are talking about, he was on fire back there, he is the man in general and the man on bass....totally underrated!! Plus his practically constant strumming of the strings through the entire song is off the wall cool!

  • @thisischavez Every sentient being in the known universe would be consumed by the ferocity of Ed's solo work.

  • @thisischavez yes...mike is fucking awesome....

  • I KNOW THE LAW FRIEND.....

  • i remember this album coming out before our house burnt down

    and i wasn't even 5 then

this album is still in my life 31 years later

infact all the David Lee Roth albums have

Van Hagar just aint the same, and that's good!

  • @PrankZabba too bad VAN HALEN turned into a mamby pamby love song bubble gum band after DLR left...Spammy hagar sucks donkey dick...he could never make VAN HALEN excellent like they were until April 1st 1985, the day Roth left....Saw the 2007 tour was great, but I cant call it a reunion with Mikeal Anthony gone, and sorry to say "ChubbyButt" Van Halen just dont make it Van Halen for the original fans!!! BRING BACK MIKEY!!!!

  • @DoctorBob409 --- I like the way you think! DLR was the heart and soul of Van Halen......100% TRUTH.

  • Prolly the best song on this album!

  • @mgkkelly1983 This and Fools. LOVE that raunchy, kiss in the pants sound coming out of that fricking guitar..

  • I agree! These guys are real rock stars!

  • 3 people are Dave's loose ends.

  • Sammy? who?

  • I GIVE YOU THE MIGHTY VAN HALEN

  • Attack, delivery, i-n-d-i-v-i-d-u-a-l-i-t-y RULES, Hear any of these guys riffs and you know who it is, no exceptions for musicianship, unless you're a natural (born with a musical talent), the media is designed to keep talent hidden these days though, there might actually be a BAND that PEOPLE LIKE, then the media would have to deal with them, and let them do things their way, which is unheard of anymore, too busy dressing up the latest thing...new music(?) is crap...all digital gymnastics..

  • This is, without a doubt, my favorite Van Halen song (classic VH that is...I don't consider Van Hagar worthy of discussion). My other top 5 VH: "Fools", "One Foot Out the Door", "Hear About it Later", "On Fire".

    ...

OK, can't just have 5...also "Light Up the Sky", "Girl Gone Bad" and "Spanish Fly" (the VHII acoustic solo).

@PowerMetalEuphonist: Def., this song is easier than it sounds, its a standard E-A hard-rock prog. Intro to "Mean Streets" slayed me for years till I learned the "trick". ;-)

  • Although no one likely wants to hear about GHVH,

I'd just like to say that this is probably the easiest of the hard songs.

My other opinions on it include:

Epic, awesome, adrenaline-pumping, intense, VAN HALEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MidnightRambler73 What about ANNIHILATOR FROM CANADA?????

  • whats to like cause i aint leavin

  • at eleventh hour i m goin back outside

  • 4o\m/

  • ...I know last loose end...

    "Get Ready..."

  • @TheDarkTeddyBear666 My birthday is two days off from AVH's.

  • Epic ENDING!!!!!!

  • The bass O_O

  • SAMMY HAGAR FUCKING SUCKS

  • Damn I wish I could fucking go back in time & see VH on the WACF tour. This shit kicks!! Probably my all time fav song by Van Halen right here.

    P.S. Hagar BLOWS!!!

  • VAN HALEN KICKS SERIOUS ASS!!! WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRST WAS ONE KICK-ASS VAN HALEN ALBUM!!!

LONG LIVE VAN HALEN!!! EDDIE VAN HALEN FUCKING KICKS ASS ON GUITAR!!!

  • The most epic Halen song ever.

  • I know the law friend.

  • 1:54-2:18 I WANNA RUN THROUGH A FUCKING BRICK WALL EVERY TIME I HEAR IT!!!!

  • This album is number 2 in my list of favorites, second to their first, fucking great album!

  • lol.... My friend tryed to tell me lil wayne was better then van halen. 120 Minutes of Me going off and a good 30 minute kick in the ass he now understands.

  • @kDelPrete101 ---- I wish I could have helped you kick your friend's ass.......no one disrespects the Mighty Roth Van Halen like that

  • @Hunkola exactly what i said. Nothing beats VH EVER

  • The mighty VH is back....Headlining Australia's Soundwave Revolution Music Festival 2011.... Yes!!! Next a new album is coming!

  • THIS IS THE FUCKING SHIT ! I'm always drinking to this album on cassette.<33

  • TAKIN' WHISKEY TO THE PARTY TONIGHT --- LOOKIN' FOR SOMEBODY TO SQUEEZE-AHHH !!!

  • Sadly, their last GREAT album

  • @evilunixuser1 huh? Fair Warning, 1984?

  • This is some heavy shit, fuck yeah!

  • Hi Crime is on is the city of lights!

  • How can you not love a song when the guys saying, ILL TAKE YOUR WHISKEY TO THE PARTY TONIGHT!!!! FUCKING EPIC SONG!!!!!

  • 3 people disliked this song: Suck Ass Sammy Hagar, Gary Cherone, and Wolfgang Van Halen

  • @cford1992 - they all suck camel testicles. Last great album with Diamond Dave. the rest were only to shut up the record execs

  • @evilunixuser1 Nah man, the last great album with Dave is Fair Warning. Diver Down and '84 are okay, but Fair Warning is the last KICK ASS Van Halen album, don't listen past 1984, Hagar's a fucking tool

  • @cford1992 Why Wolfgang?^^

  • @MCWaxMax Because like Hagar and Cherone, he doesn't belong, AND he's jealous because Michael Anthony is better

  • @cford1992 Ok, thanks to this, I understand it =) Thanks, man =)

  • Van Halen Rocks!!! This song represents Van Halen of old, when they were the best band in Los Angeles!!!

  • How can you dislike this?!

  • @macwhibry11 I don't know, man! What I want to know, and I've been asking this for months now, is, how can YouTube have a Dislike button, especially on a Van Halen song? WTF is up with that? So to answer your question, anyone who dislikes this is a DUMBASS!!!

  • @1962drob Damn right, man. This is music for real men; whiskey drinking, bluesy riff, woman lovin music, those dislike buttons are weak Imo Gen Y kids who think Matt Bellamy is awesome in comparison to EVH.

There clueless to real talent such as Eddie, M. Schenker, Randy Roads, Uli Roth, Hendrix, etc.

  • @chroniclerofthe70s Well said, bro.

  • Hit it!

  • OHHHHHHHHHHHHH FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, VAN FUCKIN' HALEN!!!

  • im takin whiskey to the party tonight and im lookin for somebody to squeeze!

  • The film "Over The Edge" introduced me to Van Halen's music. If you have a moment, look up that movie,it nails the whole idea of adolescent life in the 70's. Killer soundtrack,if you're into that kinda thing ;)

  • @smichaelb1980 dude "over the edge" had the greatest soundtrack!!! van halen, cheap trick, the cars, the ramones, ohhhh i love it

  • @smichaelb1980

    Classic flick!!

  • Now this is

    ROCK AND ROLL!

    The best Van Halen album.

  • Now this is

    ROCK AND ROLL!

  • 1:49

    EDDIE HAS GOT THE POWER

    X) : D

  • YOU'RE A DESPERATE WOMAN ---- NEED A MAN WITH A GUN

  • ya know with all the youtube shredders out there and none-NONE can hold a candles wick to this guy sorry- and i like the Al DiMeola"s Paul Gilberts -Guthrie Govans they all kick ass but just listen to this solo!!!!! fuck!!!!!

  • Another Killer track from Van Halen's "Women and Children First". Van Halen Kicks Serious Ass!!! HELL YEAH!!!

  • lol bye bye brains cells hello van halen!

  • Sammy coulda rocked this but his ego got in the way.Thanx Dave and thanx Gary for trying!

  • No bias whatsoever. I just prefer the original lineup when the music had more of an edge and wasn't so "radio friendly". Not that that is a bad thing. When DLR was aboard they didn't need his limited vocal range to carry the music, but they appeared to depend on SH's when he joined the band. I still loved both lineups, but preferred the original Fab Four.

  • Anyone else hear led zeppelin screamin out of this song? lol

  • I think this has become my favorite VH song. Interesting, the first VH song I ever heard was Jump, that got me into them. At first I like songs like Jump, Sance the Night Away, Dreams, their more poppy stuff. But as I got more and more into them, my taste changed. Now, VH is by far my favorite band, and songs like Romeo Delight, Light Up the Sky, In a Simple Rhyme, Ice Cream Man, etc have become my life's soundtrack. EVH is god. Adnoydall sucks !

  • I loved these guys so much I consider Van Halen 1 thru Van Halen 1984 one long album.

  • This is the greatest album of all time. Start to finish. Disagree? Whatcha' got?

  • @MegaRushFan1 I disagree but not looking for an argument I think it is Van Halen 1

  • @BlackLabelForLife I'll give you this: Van Halen I started the avalanche, but even through VH II, the changes were subtle, at best. When "Women and Children First" came out it was the coronation of what would be, in my humble opinion, the greatest rock band of all time. It was an assault on Rock music that the world had never seen. Everything through, and maybe even including "1984", were masterpieces. All after........not so much. Rock on, my Van Halen friend, rock on.

  • @MegaRushFan1 well said....amen! Cheers!

  • @MegaRushFan1 Yeah all those number one albums david lee roth had.... Oh wait, they never had one. Hmm, I recall not one, not two, but four of "Van Hagar" albums being number 1.

Just sayin. Id say some of 5150 and 0u812 are some of their best work.

I love both, I dont get why people are so biased towards DLR... They all rock O.o

  • hope they crank out some of this energy on the new album

  • Eddie "Fuckin Raw" Van Halen!!!! Happy birthday to thee R n R Guitar God!!!

  • @Lucicsux There was a time when I was going to say: "Well, there are others better than him, so he's not going to be one of my tops." But I soon reverted to my old opinions: simply put, withoud Eddie there'd be no Satriani, Vai, Buckethead, or any of those guys. He made shredding away on guitar look heroic, and was one of the first ever to make the most out of doing it.

  • @MultiDannyboy89 Cheers

  • lookin 4 some titties 2 squeeze.

  • saw all these shows at the old montreal forum man those were some giant parties,,,

the show for fair warning was probably my favorite

  • 1980 was a year that changed the path of rock music forever

spearheading the movement of course was Van Halens WACF

I was 20 when this was released and cranked the fuck out of it daily

nothing kicks ass and makes you remember like classic Van Halen

What a time it was for sure!!!

man, those were the days to be young and just having fun and living the party life

    Thank You Van Halen!!!!

  • @DoctorBob409 Well said Dude!!! I was 18 in 1980, and I'll tell you what. I used to crank up WACF constantly, man. Shit, back than, I didn't give a fuck if my neighbors didn't like Van Halen!!! I fucking loved Van Halen back then, and I love it even more today!!!

KEEP THE SPIRIT OF VAN HALEN ALIVE!!!!!

  • @DoctorBob409

u got that right,i was lucky enough to catch their invasion tour

i managed to sneak a 5th of 151 in,david lee came out on stage

with what he said was a bottle of tequila & said they came here to do 2 things

party & rock, that ticket cost me $7.50,that was the best concert i have ever been to in my life & been to a lot

  • @DoctorBob409 Hey Doc, It's me again. I can't help but agree with all of your feedback. I think we might be related LOL!!!!!!! I have a Van Halen song in my head just about everyday. " I say Rock OOonnnnnnnnn........

  • 2 DISLIKES??? WTF..............

  • was Michael Anthony playing bass through a synthesizer??

  • @MyDirtyrat sounds like hes playing with a plec right on the bridge

  • "I'm takin' whiskey to the party tonight and i'm lookin' for somebody to squeeze".

    LOL. My kind of lyrics.

  • hell yeah!!

  • ''Wanna see my ID try and clip my wings don't have to show you proof of anything''

used to listen to this song in triumph after succesfully buying beer without getting carded when we were 18-19 back in the mid 80's.

  • This is pure energy. My favorite 80s's band.
