  • One of the greatest misconceptions of the human race is that we are some a superior creature. No superior being would destroy the very thing that gives it life. You must be the change you wish to see in the world, what are YOU doing?

  • Of course having said that, I dont know how solar power could replace pesticides, or things like nylon...

  • Our ignorance is not so vast as our failure to use what we know.

One of the more worrying aspects is that there are solutions. For example solar.. The sun produces more than enough energy for us to harness and replace ALL of oil. However, we are now burning the oil it would take to apply such a transition, and not spending enough on science to help make it possible. I fear, it may be already to late. This should have been a globally acknowledged issue 20 years ago.

  • HEMP is the answer......now what was the question?

  • I've been preparing my family for Peak Oil for several years now....

  • You are all wrong and there is nothing you idiots can do about it and for a start, the world is going to end sooner than you think.God said that the world will be destroyed again and the signs of this are all around us,just like in the days of noah so will it be in the coming of the son of man.Get ready people because you cant stop god no matter what you do or say.

  • @bradandnicole that part in the Bible were God says that oil prices will go up and cause a war between China and the United States is really crazy, how did he know?

  • i watched today, perfect documentary, keep reporting. Greetings from Brazil

  • Will America resort to nuclear war over oil? I think so.. Lazy Americans would rather die than change... Very sad...

  • @cyclenut what are YOU doing, look in the mirror before you point your finger.

  • Mans Worst enemy is himself

  • Hydrogen will be the future, and we will use nuclear powerplants to produce it. Thorium powered powerplants for to produce hydrogen is also a sollution..but we also need to take that from the earth as we did with the oil...but we need to switch over to new energy sources quick..we got maybe 20 years left of oil.

But the problem is again,we don't have enough plotunium and Thorium for to produce enough for the worlds demand for more than 100 years, it's looking dark for our lifestyle we have now

  • Good, but Hydrogen is definetly not the future, you should read Plan C, by Pat Murphy of New Society Publishers. New Society Publishers has a number of amazing books that address the issues, global warming and peak oil. One amazing book iis A Nation of Farmers, Another which I have just started reading is Depletion and Abundance.

  • @sunsplash1980 You are doing your research before being ignorent... well done!

  • Hydrogen is not the answer sorry. There is no energy replacement that will come near oil. We are just going to have to live on less energy and grow our own food and take care of ourselves and our famalies locally.

  • The only future is to depopulate the world!

  • @brassas HYDROGEN IS NOT THE ANSWER. Too heavy and if you think oil was bad, nothing compared to playing with the elements of Thorium and Plutonium...

  • check the video crude playing at the MUCK Film Festival, TORONTO CANADA

  • A must see documentary film

  • the oil sands are limitless !!

  • Part 2:

It seems that changes now, such as eliminating automobiles, cheap non-essentials and all other waste will be unpleasant but not real hell.

For those that think bio-fuels will save us, let me see your children eat bio-fuel. Really, what will be used to power all that equipment and refineries???

Move very close to where you live and work. Stop wasting money and invest to get your house off the grid while learning to grow what you eat.

  • hemp. it was the original fuel for the diesel engine. the reason it and alcohol were prohibited were because of it's fuel capabilities. Before the alchol prohibition you could fill your car with it, that's why moonshine was really done away with, it was made for fuel more than for drinking. Though there was a lot of drinking of it! lol Hemp became illegal once technology made it's harvesting on a mass scale a minor physical task. Oil can be pretty much done away with with both of these fuels.

  • All very good suggestions and completely plausible if the human race were not so inherently lazy. Then, there is the huge 800 lb. gorilla in the room, children. Population control, specifically in America, is of the utmost importance to conserve energy and resources and ultimately restore the Earth. However, I don't see that going over too well with the predominantly "Chrisitian nation" that boasts shows like "Jon and Kate Plus 8."

  • excellent work!

  • excellent documentary, very informative ,unlike the local and national media. American people sit back and listen to the evening news which tells we are great people who go around the world spreading democracy and many Americans believe this

  • Saw this one on TV the other day. Excellent documentary.

  • Watch the movie to witness the disgusting deliberate poisoning of poor people living in 3rd world countries by American oil companies Texaco, Shell, etc.

The enviromental disasters these oil companies left behind for these people to suffer in ... absolute terrorism in the 1st degree. American hypocrits unleashing relentless war on the under-developed countries of the world through lies, stealing their countries wealth of natural resources while its citizens starve.God bless America? haha NOT

  • People with your ignorance will kill this world!! Wake up and smell the coffee. Get educated!!

  • @yllohgineok Stop using your electricity, water and gas in your vehicle and then preach your bs.... I am educated.. I am not a hypocrite like you......

  • @yllohgineok

impossible... teachers in the US today have to worry about test scores rather than being able to focus on educating... No Child Left Educated

  • the sky is falling just use ethonal we can produce all we need

the only group that should be worried is the oil companies about the new competition

  • And where comes the fertilizer from to grow that ethanol? What runs the planting, harvesting machines....

  • And Bush and Cheney have known about this Peak Oil phenom and DID NOTHING. They invaded Iraq to secure our foothold on additional supply...which will also peak. The 1 Trillion that the Iraq War has cost all of us could have been spent building Massive Solar arrays in the desert and funding Nuclear energy. Instead, they did nothing...and we and the Congress passively watched as they plundered our resources. Wake up people...stop being passive.

  • I like the comments that say "WE will replace oil" WE, WE, WE... you guys are just sitting at your PCs talking about problems, your not doing shit so stfu

  • lol. right

  • Patrick1776Henry: WorldNetDaily predicted that Iraq would unleash nuclear and biological weapons on the U.S. - and that the way to survive was to buy editor Joseph Farah's Survival Guides. WND is a right-wing mag read by wing-nuts. Look up the abiotic oil theory on wikipedia to see how dumb it is. The only people who believe in it are creationists who can't believe the earth is billions of years old because it conflicts with their view of the Bible.

  • @xinosaj The world is that old, and it doesnt conflict with the bible, you are not up to speed. I am a conservative and I believe in the bible. How wrong WND is and you are. If the right wing is nuts, that makes left wingers lunatics. Duh....

  • @EyeofaMadman the bible has been translated, adopted, written from spoken memory. As a man who speaks several languages I am aware of the dangers of translation, and to trust an ancient book that is been translated several times is very dangers. You know if he was really speaking Aramaic the word for blood and semen are the same, sooooo what exactly does it mean to drink the blood of Christ?

  • We will replace oil.

    It will be free.

    Period.

  • Google Magnetic Fusion Energy if you haven't already. This is the only thing that could possibly achieve what you've described, but it isn't going to be cheap to figure it out. So write your congressman and senators and tell them to fund it.

  • I'm with josh. Don't care what you call it: Permanent Magnet devices, Water splitters, Zero Point. They ARE out there. Very hard to get a look at them at the moment, but the times they are achaaaangin'... you can give your congressman a heads up when you've got one running your town for free.

  • I am a graduate student currently studying nuclear engineering at UC Berkeley, and am working at a large magnetic fusion experiment in San Diego, CA.While, I appreciate your agreeing with me, I beg you to not be fooled. There are NOT many alternatives. There are only a scarce few that have any possibility of making an impact. One of the most promising is magnetically confined nuclear fusion, whose research is currently funded through the US Department of Energy as well as other developed nations.

  • I beg to differ. There is geothermal energy, wave energy, solar, and wind energy. All of these can be harnessed.

There are enough zettajoules of geothermal energy to run the planet for 1000 years for starters.

The oil and coal industries are ran by elites who make huge fortunes from such, and do not desire to give it up.

Don't expect to read that in your academic books. The world is ruled by elites and their agenda.

  • Kudos! I couldn't have said it better myself.

  • we, as americans, are all fucked! everything we do is based on oil...EVERYTHING. from the time we get up in the morning to the time we go to bed. the oil won't last forever and when it runs out....we're fucked!

  • "The American Empire has reached its end, the great awakening has arrived." - Hugo Chavez

    War On Democracy [Film]

  • Tool up. Read up. Grow up. My Name's colliedogjoy, I'm an addict.Stop breeding. Get practical skills. Great to see this vid. I get depressed by the lack of awareness in the people I know.

  • less carbon spewing into the air, I'll take it...we're already prepared up here in the PNW...know about PO for some time now...study up folks, it's a coming fast!

  • Oil will be America's (the fourth reich) downfall. Just like the oil wells of the donets basin resulted in the Third Reichs downfall.

  • This is a great film. It covers the wide array of issues related to oil and how it impacts today's human society.

Buy it. Rent it. See it. Understand the predicament.

  • well it will be fun to see what happens to the world without oil

  • What? no it won't. It will be horrible because billions of people will grab the cheapest energy source they can Ie wood and coal.

  • And the global TV News stations will run events non stop.

  • It appears the government and media are raising the issue of Global Warming to coverup the real problem of Peak Oil

  • For the US the game is almost over, and the rest of us as well, the US will be hit hardest though.

  • the US is trying that in iraq, not going too well for them though :)

  • the US is well positioned to grab alot of it.

  • This trailer makes it look like a very interesting film. Nice to see various top thinkers regarding oil & energy. Also good is pointing out the great difficulty in switching to renewables, and the likelyhood of conflict. Also good is pointing out that all consumption uses energy from oil. I'll be interested to see the film.
